FUCK THANK YOU!
"I don't want to tip. This no tipping restaurant's burger is too expensive. I could make this at home" (but actually can't because they don't have the skill, creativity, equipment, etc)

This goes for any med of course, but if they can potentially make something that every country HAS to buy, the results are obvious. So far almost everyone has acted like the most important thing in the world right now is dealing with the virus. Not everyone though; for them the most important thing is how to make money from it.
A treatment like this is likely to be even more effective (remember when I posted how vaccines work - and how they don't work) but won't make as much money, soooo... | Update to this, Israel say they have had a "major breakthrough" in isolating the antibody, and are one step closer to developing a treatment with it.
I am not 100% sure this is the same antibody, but I just woke up and the reports out there aren't detailed enough. I am like 98% sure it's the same one though...

have yet ate at a local spot where they give you the card machine that doesn't pre-select tipping options
esp frustrating when you're taking-out pre-covid and still have to jump through a few screens to opt out |

I will always remember this no tipping thing; Ritual was at downtown... was HUGE on charging more but staff has no tipping. It closed down.
Paying a young kid / hot waitress
a) $12 / hr and tip
versus
b) $20-25/hr but treat their staff really fairly with vacations / benefits.
Option A...is MUCH lower cost to owner within an industry working with single digit margins (as per interviews in Van Sun). Employees' incentive would be to continue to provide better service.
Option B
Much higher cost to operate, YES you can filter out those who are smart enough to realize 'no tip, but higher pay on average' BUT owners has to literally WAIT for the customers to realize the better service (no guaranteed) in result more business flow which is also an unknown.
So fuck that shit...I'm a business owner... I'm always going to choose the 1st option. Business is business....wishful thinking is the demise of running a busienss.

^can't remember which restaurant it was but a recent one I was at had the minimum tip set to 18%...
I’m happy to tip 18-25% for great service but to put me in a position of potentially feelingly like a jackass by overriding to a less percentage for subpar service is ridiculous.
Guess I can’t remember which restaurant for a reason. I’ll never be back.

I have been making a point to tip extra to the small restaurants that I order from given how hard the restaurant industry is being hit with this.

I haven't been ordering out much, but if I do...I've been tipping extra to the family-style mom and pop small businesses like local grocery stores, cafes/restaurants. Local family business are hit pretty hard so helping out by offering a little bit more extra tipping~

You'll only see China become an "Iran" or "Russia" when there's a replacement for the global factory, that won't happen though, because the states tried by turning Africa into one, but China beat them to the punch, and controls Africa now
All we'll see is, if trump is reelected, some more tough talk, and at most some bad sentiments, and taxes on goods
Nothing if Biden is elected, he'll want to be the opposite of Trump, and play nice with everyone, probably dismiss all the anti China sentiments as Trump racism, and shrug it off, and the world will follow

Hong Kong is lifting some restrictions, which means I'll be able to go to the gym after this weekend and get a haircut
Also they'll be distributing millions of copper-woven reusable masks to the public. As much as I fucking hate wearing these things in the heat, it's necessary. This isn't over yet.
But fuck I might just keep myself locked down so I don't have to go out in the heat in a mask |

I'm always curious on how gov't gives out masks; do they send to your home?
Do you go get it with a HK ID at a library/ city hall and register? How's that working?

Do you go get it with a HK ID at a library/ city hall and register? How's that working? | All the info is here... You register online with your HKID, and they deliver to your door. 1 mask for every person, up to 10 per household. After 1 month, the online phase is over, you can take your HKID to the post office to get one.
If you have HKID and are outside HK, you can still get one, but you'll need a local to forward it to you.

Whenever possible for non chain restaurants I try to order and pickup directly and avoid third party services.

We’ve only had one take out meal in the past 8 weeks and it was for my daughter’s birthday from her favourite sushi spot. I tipped as though we ate in.
Shout out to Maguroguy!

Been tipping 20% at all my local places im still getting take out from
Unfortunately quality has definitely suffered at some but can’t really blame them
I ended up buying a new BBQ from Costco yesterday, Weber Spirit E-330. Didn’t even think about it at the time but in hindsight I should have looked into it a bit more and maybe bought a broil king or something that isn’t assembled in China
I’ve heard that the whole made in China VS not is hard to deteremine because due to regulations if portions of somthing are assembled in China but final assembly is done in North America you can still claim made in N/A?

I fully agree and support tipping at the restaurant on pick up.
I just think a lot of people are not realizing when they tip their 15-20% on a meal, the restaurant is getting non of that and it's all going to the drivers. Which can really add up for them.

Made in XXXXX.
Final Assembly in XXXXX.
Heres the Competition Bureaus definition of "Made-in" versus "assembled-in" https://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/...9.html#enG-2-3 - Skip to Section 3-2
Now of course, this is pertaining to Canada mostly, but North American regulations regarding "Origin" are pretty consistent.

They take a 30% cut from the restaurant | Explains why places like Moxies are giving you 20% off right now if you pickup, they can give a discount and still pocket more money then if you used a delivery service.
