Started going yesterday.
No shower does suck tho since I go in the morning before work. But I'd still rather start my day with a workout, even if I can't shower afterwards.
Nice to get back into my routine.

Are fitness gyms in Phase 2? The announcement wasn't really clear on that.
My martial arts gym is opening back this Friday, but the amount of people that come and go is TINY compared to regular fitness gyms like Goodlife, ex-Steve Nash, Gold Gym, ETC

One of the biggest ways of spreading this virus is via droplets, which is why wearing masks is the best thing we can all do outside of isolating at home. It helps to prevent the spread of YOUR droplets from infecting others if you're positive.
Going to a gym where people are sweating, breathing heavily, and huffing and puffing during their entire workout is the exact opposite of safe, imo. If you're wearing a mask properly then it should actually be somewhat difficult to breath, so it's not like you can workout with a mask on.

Albeit asymptomatic transmission is obviously a concern.
We need that fucking anti-body testing already.

If you're wearing a mask properly then it should actually be somewhat difficult to breath, so it's not like you can workout with a mask on. | A few reasons I'm not overly concerned, personally:
1) the time of day i go (6:30am), the maximum number of people working out is like 5, usually even less. I always look at the risk as the number of different people occupying a given enclosure/space at one time.
2) the pool of the population that use the gym are likely some of the healthiest in society.
It's probably the least likely place you'd get hit with a high viral load.
3) they've made pretty significant changes to make it, what i feel, is a pretty safe environment. Disinfecting all the equipment constantly, keeping equipment spaced in such a way that patrons are able to use it and be a relatively safe distance from each other, mandatory hand sanitizing when anyone walks in, with enforcement, etc..
We can't continue to just shelter. These reopenings do have to happen. And i think if businesses can operate under regulations that can, not eliminate it completely, but reduce the chance of spread greatly, I'm ok with that.
Just my opinion though.

Damn right I'm going back but I have to rethink my entire routine. For the past year since the birth of my 2nd I've had to gyming before work but with no shower I'm not sure how sustainable that is for me. I may also have to cave and pay for a place like good life or anytime to allow some flexibility to go super early or hella late because I was mainly going to Vancouver CCs because of work discount but I have to think about this. If anyone sees some deals holla

I find that most people are good at actively keeping distance too so it's work out.
Here's a really good tool I use to map my runs: https://onthegomap.com/#/create
You can change up the route so it's not repetitive. I miss the gym too but probably gonna wait and see.

can you consider it advanced training, running while limiting oxygen flow, like people running wearing a lead vest? :

I go to anytime. But my location has enough staff to operate from 6am-10pm.
They told me not all of their locations do though.

sorry i don't get why people run with their mask on. If you're out in public space / forest, / cycling / beach.. you're at open space... the likelihood of you running / cycling past someone at fraction of a second....
I was made fun of when they say you're most likely to get from improperly handling your keys + purse + wallet and when you step back home compared to running / weaving thru someone at hte seawall.
They also say the condensation from running is not good for the mask or skin. Girls with makeup are seeing rashes..

Aren’t some gyms enforcing a time limit on your workout? Will you need to book an appointment beforehand so the gym isn’t so crowded?

At best you'll become an asymptomatic carrier, which means you're just a ticking time bomb for your parents and immunocompromised
At worst you'll become infected and enjoy potentially losing an overall lung capacity for the rest of your life.
I agree that at some point we all need to open up and have some semblance of normalcy, but a lot of these things such as hair cuts, gyms, and restaurants aren't necessities. That's why I feel it's better to err on the side of caution and avoid these places unless absolutely necessary.

Increased blood flow encourages movement of t cells throughout the body, which in turn reduces inflammation ie, viral load. Something like that.
This article does a better job of explaining it. https://www.health.com/fitness/does-...boost-immunity
"If you could take the benefits of regular exercise and bottle them up in pill form, you'd have a wonder drug that would be the highest selling pill ever created".
Can't remember exactly where I read that, but it is a very accurate statement I think.

Was out running some errands and getting groceries today. Noticed people driving like dbags as things start reopening/more people back on the road. E.g. I was heading down North on Willingdon Ave near BCIT and on the right lane (literally just started moving around 30-40km at from red->green, the dbag in mazda3 behind me, cut into the HOV lane on the right to pass me and cut back into the lane. I'm not sure why you think your time is more important than anyone else's, but I hope you get your ass slapped with a ticket later on.
