I've been watching too many sci-fi movies. Spores. Like Alien: Covenant. Gas masks, unless you wear the kind that covers the entire head, don't cut it when the spores enter through ears. :troll:

Bottleheads might have the last laugh.................... gulolol.

No this is absolutely a concern. If it hits enough people, and it's hitting a LOT, it's going to start mutating. Much like how we have a different influenza every year.

Someone asked if HK Canadians are considering moving back. If this becomes a seasonal "flu" coming from China every year, that's when I'd consider leaving.

For now, this is my home, and I just deal with it.

MWC lost a nice chunk of exhibitors over corona fears... Even tho it's held in Barcelona, and has banned anyone whose been to China

Edit: on a flight from Hawaii back to Vancouver, and about half the Air Canada crew are weari g masks, and using hand sanitizer after handling each passport

Fucking air Canada didn't have a plane from Hawaii to Vancouver, they used a OAI Boeing and it was fukin horrible, felt ripped off!
To top it off my a flight from shanghai landed at the same time... They had the Hawaii flight use a different line at first, then just merged everyone together, eek

At least it's an acronym now, instead of some abbreviation. It's now easier to pronounce.

Still corona virus, although not specific enough, will be easier to recognize by commoners.

Haters gonna hate and still call it the "China Virus".

The right in Richmond right above #3 road TD bank, issued a notice to all staff it will close on Feb 27. Nope, didn't even make it. Closed for operation as of last week.

Some dim sum joints are closing 2 days a week. wtf. (These are in Richmond as there are TONS of competition in Richmond.)

Geoduck are at EPIC right now. Couldn't say no to it and splurged and bought 2. Price didn't move that much but the quality / size are pretty legit.

King Crab are no long at $50-60 per pound, going to eat a 2 course tonight at $39.99/lbs.

Last night Sun Sui Wah on Main was $29.98 bruh

I went to Dai Tung on Kingsway Sunday night, it was their last night. They even had a big sad farewell dinner with some of the staff and they were definitely operating with skeleton crew that night. Anyway, they're closed now.

Badhobz 02-11-2020 09:34 AM

29.98 for king crab ?!?!! 4 realZ ?!?

Damn...?! Dai Tung on Kingsway is closed now?! The place has been there forever! I love their salt-baked chickens!

100% but I don't know how long it's for, definitely was $29.98 last night though.

Vansterdam - No clue, when the wife called on the weekend to make a reso for dim sum for this Wed they made it sound like it was temp. They said we'll be closing for a while after Sunday because you know what's going on right now. Obviously, hinting that the virus is taking a hit to their business. When I was there Sunday night the way the table acted made it seem like forever but I didn't ask.

HonestTea 02-11-2020 10:10 AM

That's crazy and it's not even King Crab season yet!

I guess I’m just a typical millennial who doesn’t read the news paper. Totally missed that. I do sympathize and I wouldn’t personally call it that, but it is common. The Spanish flu? MERS is Middle East respiratory syndrome.

Everyone’s allowed to complain. Us whites fucking hate the bus ads with only mandarin and no English so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
