Sorry, I thought you were asking about quarantining. My bad.
Personally, I don't think we could afford a high level lockdown again. I doubt that'll be coming down the pike. JMO of course

If I'm quarantined on the way back, I'm fine, because I work from home. She's a nurse however, so it's a little more shitty for her.

Given that recent news, anyone believe we'll be back to a full on lockdown by January? I'd like to buy my plane tickets in the next month or so here and book my trip, but don't want to get fucked over.

Making long term plans these days seems kind of pointless

Yeah, I'm glad I don't take transit.

Hastings Street in Burnaby, right?

Oh, shit............. forgot. Oh, what the fuck. I'll rejoin this thread. I've self quarantined from this thread long enough.

welfare 10-25-2020 01:56 PM

Aren't masks now mandatory on transit?

SpeedStars 10-25-2020 02:05 PM

What's up with that stupid chick that got off the bus to help her saying "OMG what's wrong with you?!" to that guy?

Bitch, that woman just spat in that guy's face, what the hell do you expect?

God I hate people like that.

BlackV62K2 10-26-2020 11:55 AM

Assuming that woman that went out to help her didnt see the initial incident and only saw a guy push someone out the door. But if she saw the whole thing and still said that and helped the lady that spat on that guy, then she can go fuck herself as well.

Dr. Bonnie's Covid update for this past weekend mentions frightening numbers.

Number of new cases: 817.

Who thinks that Dr. Bonnie is going to ask Horgan and Dix soon to implement more restrictions in BC to bring down the curve?

I don't think they do anything unless hospitals can't keep up.

How are officers gonna enforce social bubbles in homes????

VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) — The new order limits gatherings in private homes to members of your immediate household, plus six others in your social bubble. The order comes after B.C. set a three-day record with 817 new COVID-19 cases over the past three days. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said the immediate focus will be on the Fraser Health region, where most new cases are occurring. She also announced a new expectation for people to wear masks in public spaces.

yray 10-26-2020 02:35 PM

Most of the new cases were in the Fraser Health region (665) and Vancouver Coastal Health region (109).

Halloween is on a Saturday this year. It just so happens that Daylight Savings Time also ends on this weekend. We fall back one hour on Saturday night.

An extra hour for people to be at their Halloween parties or blow up more fireworks/fire crackers. More opportunities for Covid to spread in BC.

JSALES 10-26-2020 03:04 PM

Has anyone here tried flying to the US for non-essential travel? The border is closed at the land crossing for non-essential travel but Canadians are still allowed to fly into the US.

StylinRed 10-26-2020 03:10 PM

Geez I was expecting a high number for the weekend but not this high, I was thinking around 700

DST is on a Saturday every year.
You're right though, it's going to be fucking bad. I got off work around midnight Friday and Saturday, and people were clearly going to/leaving parties as I drove through DT. I might be back peddling on my stance that they wouldn't be putting in place another lockdown.

JDMDreams 10-26-2020 04:44 PM

But they can't even pass the vote to have mandatory face masks in city of Vancouver buildings:rukidding::fulloffuck:

spoon.ek9 10-26-2020 04:46 PM

I don't know if it'll help anyone to know but I, as a healthcare worker, am also exhausted by the restrictions. Irregardless of how strictly everyone is still enforcing this on themselves, it's been an exhausting year either way. All I can say is, it's still better than having to revert back to a full lockdown. If things get as bad as they are in Ontario (and we're getting damn near close) there won't be a choice but to lockdown. Nobody wants that; whether you're liberal/conservative/denialist etc.

If everyone can just continue to be diligent it'll pay off. Delayed gratification is something lost on the current generation since they've been brought up a world where they're literally surrounded by instant gratification among other social problems.

To everyone who has stayed the course, thank you. I share in your struggle and hope you can dig deep and continue on even when it looks bleak.
