You aren’t looking very hard if you think people don’t give a fuck about the overdose crisis.
Drug use isn’t a communicable disease, which is why you don’t see the measures taken that are being done for covid. The same people who are the ones that don’t give a fuck about the old people dying are the ones that don’t want “junkies” around and shit their fucking pants about taxpayer money going into harm reduction policies like drug decriminalization and prescription heroin and the like.

welfare 11-27-2020 03:52 PM

I just don't get why it's so hard to keep covid out of these care homes. All they'd need to do is test employees prior rather than after outbreaks.
They can't even do that and contain it from these extremely vulnerable places. Good luck containing it in the entire of society.

You really are a piece of shit [edit: in this thread], and now I know where you got it from.

Nevermind, enjoy your weekend :fullofwin:

You can be put in jail for murder if you don’t tell someone you have aids and they contract it.

So what if you know you’re Covid positive, but you are the kind of person like <redacted> and you don’t give a fuck about anyone else. You go about your normal day, pass Covid on and a bunch of elderly people die. Then what, not your fault? Fuck em?

MarkyMark 11-27-2020 05:32 PM

Well you can also cut someone's head off on a bus and be set free so I'd set the sentence to be somewhere between 'house arrest' and 'please don't do that again eh?'.

SkinnyPupp 11-27-2020 05:35 PM

I can see where Hondaracer is coming from in regards to assisted suicide; it's something I'd definitely consider for myself if the time comes. But it should always be up to the person, not to anyone else. And that includes not just letting a pandemic run wild and letting it wipe out the elderly.

:lol Honda is a total asshole, but I actually agree with a few of his points, somewhat.

Assisted suicide should ALWAYS be a choice, and IMHO should never be illegal. If I'm ever crippled, or shitting myself all day without any autonomy, you better believe I'm going to take that Fenty ride to the afterlife. Some of these old folk's lives aren't lives to me, it's a state of purgatory, a vegetable wasting away to the inevitable end.

That is a life I never want to have, I very much plan to leave on my own terms when the time comes.

I don't understand all the arguing in this thread, what's the fucking point? There is nothing our elected officials can do that will appease everyone, we live in a society sharply divided and polarized, we're essentially fucked until this ride is over here.

I haven't seen anyone offer any realistic solutions that would work in this type of society, this whole thing reminds me of climate change, an issue we know that's happening, but no one cares enough to make any sacrifices or changes. As such, we'll ride this baby until the wheels fall off.

But it's not aids.
Its nowhere near a terminal illness. Even in the demographic of 80+ the morality rate is above 90%

Yeah that's a though one.
My mom signed a DNR. Of course I had no idea. When the doctor told me at the hospital my heart just about dropped to the floor.
One of the last (intelligible) things she said was "I'm not gone yet".

It's one thing to make that choice in the moment you're in. But when you're on that bed, and your whole family is huddled around you, praying to god you'll just pull through, and the doctor can do nothing to make that happen, that's a whole other moment.

MarkyMark 11-27-2020 09:01 PM

It's a tough situation when it comes to your parents. My dad has made it mighty clear to me that when the time comes he wants to be 'put out to pasture'. He doesn't want to be alive only because he's hooked up to machines or being fed by a tube.

It doesn't matter what my feelings are on it, whatever he wants is what's going to happen when the time comes. Maybe it helps that we aren't a religious family, there's no 'higher power' to answer to, it's just you as a human being deciding when you've had enough.

whitev70r 11-27-2020 09:11 PM

Having a conversation as a family on what you like at the end of life or if something happened.

320icar 11-28-2020 12:20 AM

Hearing them yell “go back to China!” In the background is fucking disgusting.

StylinRed 11-28-2020 01:17 AM

The police who didn't issue them a ticket or anything other than attempting to de-escalate the situation was pathetic

Hondaracer 11-28-2020 08:27 AM

Korea scrambling to find hospital beds as they hit 500+ cases a day, even with the preceding precautions for quarantine etc.

... did you guys watch the video?

It clearly states that Mike Farnsworth decided to institute fines for people the day after this happened.

Get rid of the whole de-escalation needs to be removed. Its not like they've been loving under a rock and being told for tge first time to put a mask on.
Hit them hard where it counts - the wallet. On that same note, a 200$ ticket is useless. Make it minimum 500$ and if they become belligerent then bump it to arresting and put them in a holding cell for 24 hours to give them a nice criminal record the next time they apply for a job. If I was an owner of a store and any of my employees were anti markers on their own free time I'd fire them as they're a complete insult to the business and bring a bad reputation.

Edited to add your comment in 68style

^ as part of the 'fine' or punishment, can we put them in a holding tank with someone Covid positive?

I'd fully support that. At the same time refuse them medical aid telling them theres already a shortage of hospital beds because assholes like them refuse to wear a mask

This is why store owners need bats.

I'm surprised there's no news of X persons getting fired for attending these rallies. Who the heck wants to work close to these people anyways ... :heckno:
