Dr. Bonnie's announcement about immunization plan.

Pfizer approved as vaccine for people 16 years or older be Moderna vaccine is undergoing review.

Dr. Bonnie announced that Pfizer and Moderna vaccine's efficacy rate, effective against Covid, is 94 to 95 percent. Test trials were done on people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.

-Health Canada announcement:

“This is a critical milestone in our fight against COVID-19 and in our efforts to provide every Canadian with access to a vaccine. Canadians can have confidence in our rigorous review process and that the vaccine was only authorized after a thorough assessment,” says Dr. Supriya Sharma, chief medical advisor at Health Canada.

The approval comes with terms and conditions. The vaccine is only approved for use in people 16 years and older, officials say, adding they are still awaiting results for further clinical trials on children before approving its use for younger people.

I trust Health Canada's vaccine review process. very very stringent standards need to be met by a vaccine before Health Canada approves any new faccine. . rigorous review process for all vaccines in Canada.
-7 to 12 employees at Health Canada work over 2000 hours to review any new vaccine.

Dr. Bonnie is stressing the importance to continue following provincial health orders, maintaining social distancing, and wear masking given the initial amounts of vaccine to B.C, to Canada, is small.

She mentions that there is enough vaccine for about 380 thousand people by end of March in B.C. to protect front line health care workers, and the most vulnerable groups in our population. That group would include seniors living in care homes.

An Immunizations BC Operations Centre is set up as part of the immunization plan. BC CDC employees are part of this operations centre.

But it still seems like a lot of people dying though. Over 100 a week. That must mean they are making lots of room in the senior homes.

So if it's unproven whether the vaccine stops or even inhibits transmission, what reason would there be to restrict those who haven't had it administered?

It came after two NHS workers had allergic reactions on Tuesday.

The advice applies to those who have had reactions to medicines, food or vaccines, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said.

The two people had a reaction shortly after having the new jab, had treatment and are both fine now.

They are understood to have had an anaphylactoid reaction, which tends to involve a skin rash, breathlessness and sometimes a drop in blood pressure. This is not the same as anaphylaxis which can be fatal.

Both NHS workers have a history of serious allergies and carry adrenaline pens around with them.

Will I be damn.

Remember, one in a thousand people in the UK have died after being infected with coronavirus this year and that figure is rising daily.
Two people, out of thousands vaccinated yesterday, had an allergic reaction which they recovered from.
Valuable perspective again.
Admittedly, we don't know the long term effects, but we don't really have the 10 years to figure it out.

.But vaccine study volunteers like nurse Kristen Choi say people preparing for COVID-19 vaccinations need to know what side-effects could happen -- not to scare them away, but to let them know of what to expect when they do get the vaccine, and reassure them that it’s going to be alright.

She wrote about taking part in a Pfizer trial in the summer, in a JAMA article published this week called “A Nursing Researcher’s Experience in a COVID-19 Vaccine Trial.”

She passed the necessary screening, and was soon set up to be one of the trial participants. The trial involved injecting half of the participants with a placebo, and half of them with the experimental vaccine, in order to measure whether the vaccine actually had an effect.

After the first shot, Choi felt fine, and had no idea whether she’d received the placebo or the vaccine. Her second shot, administered the following month, was a different story.

The injection site was much more painful than when she received the first shot, and by the end of the day, she “felt light-headed, chilled, nauseous, and had a splitting headache.”

She fell asleep, but then woke up at midnight, feeling even worse. She was feverish and could barely lift her arm, according to her description on JAMA.

At 5:30 a.m., she woke once again and took her temperature, finding it was a scorching 40.5 degrees Celsius.

“When I saw that I had a high fever, that's the highest fever I can ever remember having,” Choi told CTV News, “I think my initial, just gut reaction was, ‘Do I have COVID somehow?’”

She reported her reaction to the researchers at 9 a.m. when the office opened, and was told that “a lot of people have reactions after the second injection,” and that she should keep monitoring her symptoms.

Both Pfizer and Moderna say their vaccines can induce side-effects similar to the symptoms of COVID-19 infection, including fatigue, chills, headaches, muscle aches and joint pain.

In the case of the Pfizer vaccine, those older than 56 years of age experienced milder side-effects than the younger cohort of 18 to 55 years. The most common side-effects were fatigue and headaches for all ages, with as many as 60 per cent of the younger group experiencing fatigue after their second shot. Only 16 per cent of the younger group had a fever after their second shot, compared to 11 per cent of the older group, according to a briefing document submitted to the FDA.
I ment that her side effects were worse than the majority of people who have had covid. She had a fever of 40.5. A fever above 39.5 is dangerous and above 40 can be life threatening.

Really though, it's good that we have another prophylactic candidate after hydroxychloroquine failed so bad. It's weird that it's being touted so hard by weird/fringe right wingers though (the type of people who are prone to Appeal of Authority figures wearing white coats with their name on it) (and oh they also pushed hydroxycloroquine hard for some reason as well)...

Just keep studying it (which they're doing). If it works and it's safe, we'll absolutely use it.

Yeah, that's not the same as a reaction worse than getting COVID itself. Who is to say she wouldn't have been hospitalized with the real thing? That the immune response wouldn't have been similar? You can't infer one person's experience with a vaccine and compare it to a loosely defined demographic that gets the real thing.

Dr Kory is the president of FLCCC. A large and growing group of nearly 100 physicians who work with covid patients in critical care. Himself having thousands of hours experience dealing with critically ill covid patients personally.
As mentioned the group has over 2000 peer reviewed publications.
I think he's qualified enough for his opinion to be taken seriously.

These doctors encourage the repurposing of treatments that have been in circulation for decades because the side effects are well known and documented. Of course the patents have expired on them years ago, so they're not as marketable as a drug like remdesevir, which Fauci and the media had lauded as practically groundbreaking with far less significant results.
