Not exactly, unless you consider Kelowna butt fuck nowhere.

Other areas of the Interior look fine except for Princeton and Kettle Valley. Looks like Kelownavirus is back again.

what is "excess" supply. just fluff and marketing post at work.

If gov't is trying to get paid on vaccine and get people to pay for it ... it would be irresponsible. That's my opinion.

Well yea, not to pile on to turd but if people actually had to pay for the vaccine im pretty sure you’d see a double digit drop off in uptake.. that’s also what universal healthcare is for..

The BCCDC numbers were just released they don’t add up at first glance.. here is from Nov 7th:

And here is the newest set from today, tracking up until dec 5th:

So the 80-89 bracket lost a death, due to it not being from covid I guess?

Edit* never mind I guess it’s from the 7th to the 5th but it doesn’t designate that anywhere..

Yeah Liberalism, what a twisted ideology. Forcing people to confront and seek help for physical and mental ailments.

Much better to just bottle it up and carry on as if nothing's wrong.
It was a joke. Sorry. I thought it was obvious.

And yet, 19 people in hospital, 4 in icu. And a grand total of 6 people have died since March.

Fun fact, the total number of covid cases since march in the interior health region is the same as the last 6 days of new cases in Fraser health...

The vast majority of the Interior is nowhere though. Most of it is hours and hours from a major hospital.

Hours and hours?

What communities are farther than an hour away from a hospital? And how many of the 800,000 in IH live in those communities?

I said major hospital. How many of those health centres and community hospitals have the equipment and staff to handle an outbreak? Granted most people are going to be living fairly close to the Okanagan/Kamloops but there's probably a couple hundred thousand scattered around the rest of the region. If a town like Kaslo had an outbreak they'd be fucked.

Kaslo is a 45 minute drive from the Nelson regional hospital.

When exactly are you expecting this huge outbreak? There are 19 people in hospital in ih and that has been steady, actually gone down, during the whole pandemic and daily cases are flattened again.

Read it again ... 80-89 bracket gained 107 deaths from 112 to 219, but it dropped by 1% of total deaths (40.1% to 39.2%)

I'm not a psychic, I'm just saying that should there be a bad outbreak I doubt the little hospitals out there can handle much, and to get from those to larger hospitals in the winter isn't fast. With Christmas and New Years coming up though all it takes is one gathering to fuck up a lot of people.

I could be wrong though, maybe all the little hospitals are well equipped. If you have info of that being the case please share.

Not that it really matters, but Google says it's an hour, and I doubt you're shaving off 25% of the travel time on that kind of road in Dec. Although if you need to get someone to the hospital it might be a little easier to do than normal.

This global article outlining what’s “ok” this Christmas:

https://globalnews.ca/news/7516613/f...-restrictions/

Quote:
Can I as a single parent with a 14-year-old who also visits his dad’s house be OK to have one or two people who I can socialize with besides my son as is permitted for those who live alone?

Yes, those who live alone should absolutely have their one or two-person bubble to help support them during this time. However, remember that each interaction is a chance for the virus to spread. Since you live with your son, consider having only one other person in your
bubble for now.
So it’s ok for a parent with a 14 year old who lives between two homes and goes to school to join another household, but it isn’t ok for two adults who live together to join their parents for Xmas within that bubble?..

This isn’t trying to find a “loop hole” this is just counter to what has been said..

Based on the guidelines posted a page or so back, it seems your scenario would be OK too. You can have a small "personal bubble" outside the household of 2 people. So you, wife, and, say, her parents. But you can't have a second one with your parents.

That's how I understood it at least

The only two people my wife and I have seen in a long time is my mom and dad. Same goes for them reversed. We will be spending xmas morning and evening together with them, my wife and 7 month old. Don’t care whether it’s allowed or not, we are safe as we can be and be damned that My parents can’t see their only grandchild’s first xmas

I feel like these guidelines though and the global article are just counter to what Bonnie Henry says in the pressers and then these come out and outline these oddball scenarios which make things seem “ok” and then people just stretch the interpretation to their own scenario. Where as the press conferences seem to infer that it is not acceptable to mix house holds period besides that caregiver grandchild scenario

I dunno...went to my parents today to drop stuff off and was feeling some congestion/sinus pressure which I generally never do so dropped the stuff off at the door and left..we’ll see what happens closer to Christmas I suppose

I think they just want people to be responsible, give them some strict guidelines if they don't know how to decide for themselves.

I know the article is intending to draw sympathy but it's a little tough to see someone going from $400/month or less to over $3000, as a victim, because they're asked to pay it back.
Nice touch the MP explaining how to cook the books and cheat the system at the end too.
