^^ didn't they say you're fucked as it causes lung scarring or something so you will never get the capacity back?

Jmac 12-17-2020 09:39 PM

I had to take a COVID test last month because I work in health care and woke up with a sore throat one morning. Sore throat was gone by mid day but had to isolate until I got test results back (test was the next day then another 2 days to get results). Was super lame.

I think my mom's a bit sad. The kids are moved out and she's trying to plan a Christmas gathering cause she misses her children. It hurt me to reluctantly tell her no, not this year.

I'm just going to stay home for the holidays and spend it with my wife (just the 2 of us).

Sometimes I wonder why the fuck do I try so hard when so many others don't seem to give a shit.

Not sure really but on the 6th night I had to go to the hospital because I felt like my breathing was extra laboured and I got winded easily and couldn't finish a sentence without grasping for air. Oxygen saturation was good, got lung x-ray too and the doctor said my lungs looked ok just a little puffed up but he said its typical. I haven't gotten my lung tested again since so I don't know.

My first couple of days back to work was rough, dumber than usual, forgot stuff and my mind was just blank, got dizzy and winded easily but all good now, I'd say 90% back to how I was.

Keep your family safe. You'll get more time with them. I feel the same way, it really sucks. This is literally year one of 35 without spending it with my grandparents. It's not worth the risk. I'll gamble losing one year with them in hopes of gaining 5 or more.

Considering how many people rarely (if ever) get to spend Christmas with family members due to distance missing one myself isn't the end of the world. You could always do delayed Christmas in the summer or something when the numbers should be doing a bit better.

Of course then there's 2 of my coworkers who went down to the US to spend Christmas with their in-laws. I thought the border was supposed to be closed but apparently not.

Did they give you anything to help breathe? Being short of breath is like my worst fear

The nurse mentioned they might give me puffer to help open up the airways but the Doctor said I'm good enough so they didn't give me anything. They said just rest, drink plenty of water and take tylenol for fever

100% from work. My boss got it and then just got passed around. On the day back after the weekend, 2 of my other coworkers didn't come in. they said they had symptoms over the weekend and sure enough they were positive so it was just a matter of time for me.

CivicBlues 12-18-2020 07:13 AM

shitty, was your workplace taking precautions? What kind of environment is it? Office?

pastarocket 12-18-2020 07:38 AM

FYI. The BC Recovery Benefit online application was "supposed" to be up and running on the government website as of today.

-was filling out step 5 of the application. Then this error message pops up after I submit my info. :lawl:

500 Internal Server Error

Government websites suck!

Get your anti-care home payments!

TouringTeg 12-18-2020 09:44 AM

Applications open until June 30th but everyone wants that Christmas bonus asap.

I wonder how much fraud there will be on this hand out.

Also makes me wonder if there will be any negative consequences to those looking for mortgages given the record low rates.

i.e. big bad bank sees this as an increased risk/liability on your file

If so, how severe were they?

Headaches and a cold. Then she went to get tested.

My friend said his mom went to visit her mom at an old folks home and may have got infected from there....

I've heard this for CERB.

However, this is entirely different than CERB.

JDMDreams 12-18-2020 10:35 AM

Banks put a message on your account that you received cerb or if you deferred your loans. So they will dig more if you apply for anything in the future.

320icar 12-18-2020 10:44 AM

More info on this? I’ve never heard a single person say this ever since corona started

JDMDreams 12-18-2020 11:12 AM

Nothing much to say besides that they aren't charities. And as Kanye said " she don't want no broke n__as"

westopher 12-18-2020 11:28 AM

He didn’t say that though lol.

Hondaracer 12-18-2020 01:59 PM

Horgan rolling out “compliance patrols” but doesn’t even understand the rules himself:
