You do not need to have kids to be considered a family.

I believe its a wash if declaring as family or not. Family is 2 people ( adults ) for a total of 1000, so each gets 500. Singles declare and receive 500 so it's the same.
Atleast, that's how I'd understand it. 500 for each eligible "voter" persay?

Every adult in your household can apply. If you are married or common law, then you apply together as a unit.
So your son can apply individually. Anyone who is 19+ can apply. But I don't think you and your son can apply as a 'family'. You and your son would have to apply as individuals ... I think.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard wants to re-introduce a WWII era law that allows them to put a temporary heavy tax on corporations that made larger profits due to the pandemic, and use it to bail out small businesses that suffered due to the pandemic.
Seems like something most normal people would support |

They can’t even pass $600 payments for people, very doubtful that gets through even though it makes perfect sense
If they could tax speculation in private equity they could probably get everyone back on their feet..

They need to stop using the word “bubble” interchangeably with household for clarity. I’ve had the same conversation with people about how they can see their friends (their bubble) in restaurants but can’t have them over and how it doesn’t make sense. I have to explain to them that they can’t see their friends in restaurants either. That said Horgan should have a better understanding of the rules than rob the contractor or whatever.

This is a good article to read about viruses. https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/22/afric...ntl/index.html
Summary of this article: Once a new virus begins circulating among humans, the consequences of a brief encounter at the edge of a forest or at a wet market could be devastating. Covid-19 has shown that. Ebola has proved it. And in most of the scientific publications there is an assumption that there will be more contagions coming as humans continue to destroy wilderness habitats. It's not an "IF" it's a "WHEN".
The solution is clear. Protect the forests to protect humanity -- because Mother Nature has deadly weapons in her armory.
Mother Nature can be a big, bad, bitch if she wants to be in response to humanity's disrgard for the environment.

Wasn't it proven that it didn't come from the wet market? There were cases much earlier than that outbreak that had no connection to the wet market.

To be fair I think in Horgan's case he just didn't know the rules, that said I mean he of all people should really know what Dr Henry is telling everyone else to do.

Seems like something most normal people would support | NDP tried that here but was blocked in parliament. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ndp...-day-1.5789923 Quote:
New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh says his party will call for a new tax on wealthy Canadians and another on businesses that have profited excessively during the COVID-19 pandemic when it sets the topic of debate in the House of Commons on Thursday.
At a news conference today, Singh said workers, families and small businesses shouldn't bear the burden of paying down the public debt incurred by the federal government to fund COVID-19 support measures.
"To pay for the programs, the help that people need ... it should not be families, and people, and workers, and small businesses who have struggled," Singh told reporters. "It should be those who have profited off the pandemic, it should be the ultra-wealthy that contribute their fair share."
| https://www.ndp.ca/news/liberals-con...adian-families Quote:
Liberals, Conservatives and Bloc side with wealthy instead of Canadian families
OTTAWA – At a time when Canadians are worried about who will pay for the pandemic and the recovery, the Liberals, Conservatives and the Bloc joined forces to vote against making the wealthy pay their fair share. Today, they voted against the NDP motion calling on the government to impose a one percent wealth tax on those who profited off the pandemic while families struggled to make ends meet.
“In the middle of a second wave, people across the country are worried about having their services cut by the government to cover the cost of the recovery. It shouldn’t be that way,” said the Leader of the NDP, Jagmeet Singh. “The Liberals and the other parties that voted against a wealth tax are not in it for everyday people. Those who made billions off this crisis should pay for the recovery. Not families struggling to pay their bills.”

I think the work health assessment are bs, basically everyone lies and say they have nothing cuz they look down on you for staying home cuz you have a slight cough. Obviously everyone says they are fatigued and doesn't want to go to work.

Our work has medical obvs so if we need to take 2 weeks off it’s paid thru short term LOA with doctors note.
I get headaches all the time. Whether from caffeine withdrawal or a rainy day after a week of sun (aparently pretty common). But if I have a really bad migraine or something suspicious maybe take the day off. I also have a 7mo old at home so obviously I’m always tired/fatigued. The point is you know your body, you know what’s normal and what isnt

Obviously everyone says they are fatigued and doesn't want to go to work. | Part of that is the North American work culture looking down upon their employees taking sick days off. The entire workforce would be stronger and healthier if that negative stigma was removed from it. You're seeing more and more companies transition sick days into 'personal health days' or 'mental wellness days' because they understand that their employees are humans and there are days where we all feel like absolute shit for no reason. The mental health benefits alone would be awesome.
Far too many companies issue some sort of "attendance wellness program" where it's basically HR giving you shit and having all their eyes on you because you've taken more sick days than others. It's utter bullshit.
