Why don’t you lead by example? Quit your job, stay in your room and change your FB profile pic to the “stay home” filter.

Fix the problem of workers bringing Covid into homes (quick test, sick leave, higher pay for Care Aids, etc.) and relax visitation restrictions for family. Which is not a bad strategy.
At the end of the day, I think you have to weight the quality of life versus length of life. Sure, you might extend the life of seniors in homes by all these visiting restrictions but what kind of quality of life are they living ... isolated from family and loved ones, locked in their room 24/7, not even bingo?! If you ask most people in their last lap of life, would you rather have 3 months of quality life (contact with family and social interaction) or, a year of life locked alone in a room, what do you think they would choose? I know what I would choose.

They're mostly the Silent Generating dying. The people in charge of the whole world (still) are Boomers and late Gen-X and I wouldn't be surprised if they've done a cost-benefit analysis and came to what Hondaracer's implying. They've been doing that shit their whole lives.

Dr. Bonnie's update for the past three days:
1330 new cases: Daily cases are dropping for the past 3 days. 584, 445, 301.
The curve is flattening.
31 deaths. Total of 1078 deaths in B.C.
87,346 vaccine doses have been administered so far.
Dr. Bonnie says that B.C. is on track for a dramatic increase in immunization in April once the most vulnerable segments of our population are immunized, despite the supply issues from Pfizer.
The Moderna vaccine doses that are arriving in B.C. now would cover the shortfalls in Pfizer vaccine supply.
-interesting part of her update is that Dr. Bonnie mentioning her credentials with working with vaccines. She said that based on her 30 years of work experience working with vaccines, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are very effective technologies in medicine. -quoted the 95 percent efficacy rate for these two vaccines after the second shot.
Maybe she mentioned her credentials in part as a response to some people doubting her credibility?

Los Angeles suspended doses from a certain batch of Moderna after several allergic reactions occurred. Something to watch for if BC happened to receive a shipment of the same batch.

A few WTF moments from this short report: https://vancouvercrimestories.com/20...-coughing-fit/ Quote:
A Vancouver couple must cough up $460 after pretending to cough on customers inside a private gym near False Creek.
Two VPD constables were flagged down outside the police station on Saturday night by the gym’s owner. He reported that two people who were not gym members had entered the business, were walking around without facemasks, and were coughing in the general direction of people and equipment.
The officers found a 60-year-old man and his 25-year-old girlfriend as the exited a washroom inside the gym. The couple claimed they were only pretending to cough because people inside the gym were staring at them.
Police asked the couple to leave, but not before issuing them each $230 tickets under the Emergency Program Act for failing to wear face coverings.
| Some people have nothing else to do.

There was a guy on BNN speaking to Canada’s vaccine procurement and the amount of money they basically bid with to get the vaccines from the major providers and he said while turd keeps repeating that they have an “extensive portfolio of vaccines” they said compared to virtually every other first world country they might as well be last in terms of the amount they procured immediately, the urgency in which they bid for them, etc.
Hell, Sam Chui a stupid airline blogger just posted an IG post about how he was able to get vaccinated at will within the UAE basically by just walking up to their clinic..

Comparing the two is being pretty obtuse there.

Well Canada is bigger than virtually every other first world country. However the cast majority of their population is concentrated within small pockets.
It’s not apples and apples but obviously the ball was dropped on this.

It’s not apples and apples but obviously the ball was dropped on this. | If majority of people are vaccinated by September of this year, I'd say that is a miraculous success. What would you consider a success, March? April? We're talking about months here
At the rate the US is going, it'll be years for them to reach full vaccination rates.
I'd say we're doing pretty decently, all things considered.

huh we're 50% slower than US when i checked few days ago (2% of population vs 4) AND we have an older population
they only have 40% rate inoculated vs total distributed which is concerning though, hopefully Biden admin will change that around

Time will tell.
I honestly think it’s time to hold the people in power more accountable then simply letting things play out and then looking back and saying “oh yea it worked out I guess so well done”
Canadians have an attitude with politics that if Somone does the bare minimum they are required it’s like they deserve a medal and a hand shake well done lol. No one ever holds anyone accountable after the fact

It’s not apples and apples but obviously the ball was dropped on this. | If there were just 1000s of vaccines sitting around everywhere I’d agree, but how can we vaccinate more people if we don’t have the vaccines? We are at the mercy of the distributors.
US has production in the US, that they will not export. That’s part of the benefit of being one of the most populated developed countries.

Canada is one of the world leaders when it comes to medical advances. We have the smartest of the smart. It’s sad that they have to go elsewhere or at least they are recruited by external forces and don’t stay in Canada. The great brain drain.
Instead, we specialize in selling valuable raw materials to anyone and everyone. We should be.............. nuff said.
