Several news reports have named the couple as 55-year-old Rodney Baker, the now-former head of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, and 32-year-old actor Ekaterina Baker (Chick Fight, Fatman), who reportedly flew to Whitehorse, Yukon, on January 19.
However, instead of remaining in self-isolation for the mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon arrival, the couple flew to Beaver Creek where they received the Moderna vaccine.
White River First Nation released a statement to express concern that the actions of the couple have consequently placed others in their community at risk. The community was selected for vaccinations due to its remote location, elderly and high-risk residents, and limited access to healthcare.
The two individuals have each been charged with failure to self-isolate and failure to follow a declaration, each of which is a maximum fine of $500, up to six months in jail, or both.

CEO of casino chain that has allegedly been laundering money for criminal organizations, should we be surprised?
Eh, nothing will happen to em. We all might as well try to find similar loop holes because the repercussions for anyone’s actions are obviously less than a slap on the wrist
Ie. the “illegal nightclub” this past weekend which the cops couldn’t do anything because the home owner didn’t open the door lol! Fuck..

No new Pfizer vaccine is being delivered into BC this week. No Moderna vaccine shipments are coming into BC this week either.
1344 new cases for past weekend
527, 471, 346 daily numbers. Curve continues to bend downward.
26 deaths.
68 people in ICU.
I don't know about Dr. Henry's idea though.
extending duration now between 1st and 2nd vaccine dose.
-extend from 35 to 42 days
This is NOT Pfizer and Moderna's recommended duration between the vaccine shots. The 35 or 42 days duration is not recommended by these pharmaceutical firms.
Dr. Bonnie wants more people to get vaccine shot faster by extending the duration for people to get second shot. Get more people to get the first vaccine shot quicker.
Hmmm.
Five cases of the UK variant (technically known as the B-117 virus).
Three cases of the South African variant (known as the B-1531 virus)

So how does that work for people whose second shot was supposed to be in that timeframe? Or is thay just for initial doses?
My understanding as per what they were discussing on the radio is that everyone’s second dose (if you haven’t received the second dose yet) is just pushed back another week

So that's why we're not getting any vaccines...
They still need a plan to get all those vaccines out to those giving the shots, and into people's shoulders though!
I'm not sure if other states will follow suit or if they're already offering the same, but my cousin spearheaded an initiative to allow dentists to vaccinate people in Massachusetts, I thought that dentists would have already been utilized in doing so, but it turns out they aren't.
The MA governor, and medical boards approved it back in December-beginning of Jan, but dentists still haven't been vaccinated themselves let alone received vaccines to administer

Vaccines are coming out just in time for another virus or disease to combat the earth's exploding population............ Life's a bitch and then we die.
From George Orwell's War of the Worlds....
Quote:
From the moment the invaders arrived, breathed our air, ate and drank, they were doomed. They were undone, destroyed, after all of man's weapons and devices had failed, by the tiniest creatures that God in his wisdom put upon this earth. By the toll of a billion deaths, man had earned his immunity, his right to survive among this planet's infinite organisms. And that right is ours against all challenges. For neither do men live nor die in vain.
After telling us to "Do More", the gov decides that they don't need to do more, and people coming in from flights from other provinces will not need to quarantine.
B.C. is not tightening travel restrictions, despite the emergence of COVID-19 mutants that have led to changes in another Canadian province.
Manitoba has revealed that as of Friday anyone coming into that province — including Manitobans returning home — will have to self-quarantine for two weeks.
In B.C., anyone arriving from within Canada does not need to quarantine, though is subject to a recommendation that they not travel on any non-essential business within the province. All international arrivals do need to quarantine.
In a prepared statement, the B.C. Ministry of Health said “when people do come to B.C. they are expected to follow all the orders in place here which includes no events or social gatherings.”
B.C. Premier John Horgan has ruled out interprovincial travel bans because he does not believe they are legally enforceable.
There are also no known plans to follow Manitoba’s lead and broaden quarantine rules in B.C. beyond international arrivals. This order would come from the provincial health officer for B.C., Dr. Bonnie Henry.
Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister said the fear of new COVID-19 variants from the U.K. and South Africa that appear to be more easily spread and are more dangerous prompted the change in his province’s quarantine rules.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing more formal travel restrictions to protect Manitobans from the risks of COVID-19 being introduced to us further by travel including any new COVID-19 strains from other jurisdictions,” Pallister said.
Henry has expressed fears that the new variants could spread in the province. So far, there has been six reported cases of the U.K. variant in B.C. and three from South Africa. A small percentage of COVID-19 tests are checked for those two variants so the numbers could be higher.
On Tuesday, Henry reported 14 additional deaths and 407 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. She said 71 of 313 people in hospital with the disease were being treated in intensive care.
There are 4,260 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C., and 6,450 people are in self quarantine after being exposed.
There have been no new outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Despite COVID-19 vaccination setbacks, B.C. will come close to the target of injecting 150,000 doses of either Pfizer or Moderna vaccines by the end of January.
Henry said there had been 122,359 doses injected across the province since vaccinations began in late December — including 4,105 second doses. B.C. has around 20,000 vaccines on hand.
At the start of the vaccination program Henry said 150,000 doses would be administered by the end of this month, starting with staff and residents at long-term care facilities.
However, last week Pfizer said deliveries to B.C. would fall by 60,000 doses over a six-week period. On Monday, Henry reported the pharmaceutical giant would deliver nothing for two weeks and then in much reduced numbers over the following three weeks.
The most recent confirmed COVID-19 case reported on a domestic flight into Vancouver from outside B.C. was on Jan. 21, when a flight arrived from Toronto.
