2 dudes came into the restaurant yesterday and said “we’re here from Toronto, what’s the best nightclub around here?”
But yeah, those of us that haven’t left BC in a year and haven’t seen our friends or family for nearly 3 months need to “do more”
I guess a lockdown in other provinces means just hop on a plane with your buddies and go do whatever the fuck you want somewhere else. Fucking joke.

Not legally enforceable as in there's a law preventing it, or as in the people who are supposed to enforce it are too useless to actually do it?

Orange man did much more than Turd in terms of getting Vaccines. Well done Turd.
Bonnie telling people to “do more” like anyone that needs to “do more” actually watches the briefings lol

Orange man didn’t create the Pfizer production facility in US. That’s been there since 1918.
It’s just a product of circumstance.

Also orange man had no plans for distribution, and no stockpile despite claims of having them. Biden's team had to start from scratch which makes it even more mind blowing that they think they can get 300m vaccinated by summer.

-listened to Horgan's speech this afternoon about Covid in B.C. "vast majority of British Columbians have made sacrifices for the past 12 months".
"We are asking British Columbians, to dig deeper, to find that extra gear".
"speaking to a small group of British Columbians who think they are above everyone else" "Those people who would fly to other jurisdictions to get the vaccine" "Unacceptable".
"Un-Canadian. -jumping the line for Covid because they have the means to do so".
"If you are coming to BC for non-essential travel, you better behave appropriately, you better abide by the rules, or we will come down on you like a tonne of bricks".
One reporter asked Horgan "What do you mean by a tonne of bricks? ".
Horgan replied to this reporter's question about what he means by a "tonne of bricks" : "It's the activities for example at a ski hill. People who are looking for other activities, people looking for a party, a night club".
People who looks for these kinds of activities would receive punishment to the full extent of the law as per Horgan.

Fullest extent of the law = $2500 fine 4x for holding private parties that probably net you 10k each time.
Come down on you like a pound of feathers.

Come down on you like a pound of feathers. | Not really.
A $2500 fine for the guy who turned his condo into a nightclub. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vanc...club-apartment Police said they are now are working with Crown counsel to obtain court-ordered conditions that will prohibit the apartment owner from hosting large parties.
Court order conditions from our court system. If that idiot dares to hold another party in his condo again, the cops will arrest him for violating a court order. He wins himself one night or more in jail and a greater chance of getting Covid from anyone else inside jail.
If that idiot has more than three brain cells, he should take court-ordered conditions very seriously.

Lol. Imagine breaking the law 4x then having a court order against you saying you can’t break the law again. Not exactly harsh in my eyes.
“Hey we know you have 4 DUIs but we have this court order saying you’re not allowed another one”
1st offence for serving liquor to a minor in B.C. $7500-10000
2nd offence $25000
Why not grade them like that? Should be simple.
First offence $2500
Second offence $50000

I asked a lawyer friend about the legal ramifications of breaking a court order.
She said that failure to comply with a court order is contempt of court. Contempt of court under our criminal justice system means that the person committing a violation gets jail time.
There is no "get out of jail card" from the Monopoly board game if that idiot breaks a court order.

I understand that, but 4x is a far cry past the realm of reasonable chances not to mention the waste of time with necessitating a court order for that.

Then you have the extreme criminal "justice system" in countries with totalitarian governments like China where cops will arrest anyone not wearing a mask. Personal rights and freedoms? What's that?
The cops would drag those Covidiots to jail in a heartbeat. Forget about paying a fine in order to avoid criminal charges for not wearing a mask in China.

The guy had a door man at his “club” he’s probably charging for entry and booze.
You think a night in jail is a deterrent if the guys made 30k in the last month? Lol I think your take on the “seriousness” of his potential punishments are laughable. The guy is probably chuckling seeing the shit go through the news
We all better cower in our homes and “do our part” while buddy is running a private nightclub in his home for the amazingly harsh punishment of $2500 lol.. I bet some actual clubs wish they could operate so inexpensively m

The story with this condo night club owner gets better. Apparently, the owner calls his club "Granny's". https://vancouversun.com/news/owner-...ncouver-police The owner of a Downtown Vancouver penthouse apartment that police say has been converted into a makeshift nightclub in violation of provincial COVID-19 social gathering restrictions has filed a complaint against the Vancouver police.
Mohammad Movassaghi says VPD officers damaged his property when they paid a visit to his luxury condo inside Telus Garden Residences, at 777 Richards St., on Saturday night.
Movassaghi, a former wealth manager, denies his home has become some sort of party palace and claims he was just watching UFC with a few neighbours when officers started banging on his door around 10:30 p.m.
“One of the officers attempted to film inside my unit through the peephole,” Movassaghi said in a complaint to the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner. “Officers also blocked the fire exit door and illegally blocked and occupied the fire exit hallway for over one hour.”
The VPD believe the 1,800-square-foot, three level penthouse suite in the Telus Garden, which Movassaghi purchased in November for nearly $3 million, has been converted into a “makeshift nightclub” and has been the site of numerous parties over the past month.
The makeshift club at Telus Garden is reportedly called Granny’s, and according to a person with knowledge of the events being held inside the penthouse, party invitations have been regularly delivered to invited guests using the encrypted messaging app Telegram.
An invitation to Granny’s New Year’s Party, obtained by Postmedia News, advertised exotic dancers, DJs, light shows, servers and a full bar.
Movassaghi said he knows nothing about the invitations or the alleged makeshift nightclub, but he did note that his girlfriend’s nickname is Granny.

Sending the liquor board after him will probably be faster. Or the zoning bylaw people.

To be devil's advocate you could technically play off the first offense as "oh my bad I was living under a rock the last 10 months and didn't know about the rules."
Ok, fine slap him $2500 ... but 4x?!?!? ... is fucking ridiculous ... by the 2nd offense it should have been at least $25,000. I mean the dude owns a $3m condo that he doesn't mind to get trampled on and drinks/puke everywhere. What's another $25k?
Cover fee and coat check alone for 100 people would have covered the fine... |

It's tough on the police.
1) no warrant
2) you can't trespass onto property esp. into a condo / Penthouse.
The time and effort for one to get a warrant has to have justify cause, and the time and effort and red tape to get is nightmare.
Once you do get it.. OH sorry, the unit is #208 and not #209... you're shit out of luck.
So yeah... if someone won't buzz the cop into the building.. the cop has no way to go in and provide a ticket to the owner.. let alone the Penthouse which has private entrance + elevator.

Frankly as it should be.
I’m somewhat torn on this because obviously the guys a POS, completely in the wrong, skirting the health orders etc.
But in the other hand, the govt. shouldn’t have a say in what’s going on within your home period. To simply knock on a door because you’re assuming they are violating the health orders? Ehhhhh...
Get a warrant and go back if it’s that concerning but getting into peoples business in their private homes? I dunno..I’d say he can do whatever he wants until people leave or come out the door into the hall then you can ticket etc.

If it’s a law, it doesn’t matter if its on your property. You can’t beat the fuck out of a houseguest or smoke crack in your house either. I understand laws =/= necessarily to health orders, but bylaw is basically the same. You don’t have immunity because it’s your property.
