How's everyone feeling for tomorrow. Thinking they'll extend the current measures? My money is they do. |
I actually thought they already did until after family day? But yes. It’s a definite they will. Guess I’m going bowling by myself for my birthday this year. |
Why would they not extend the current measures, it's not like we have the magic vaccine they put all their eggs on. |

Mo managed to raise just 260 bucks after the GoFundMe page was taken down. LUL This motherfucker Mo is a joke! Restaurants and bars are suffering huge financial losses during this pandemic. It is laughable for this guy to think that he is suffering huge losses from not being able to host parties illegally in his penthouse. https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/02...us-councillor/ -from the article: On Thursday, Mohammad Movassaghi started a GoFundMe with a goal of $100,000. The page was taken offline soon after it appeared, raising just $260. Movassaghi was arrested last weekend, and is facing two criminal charges after allegedly defying provincial health orders to host gatherings in his home. The penthouse parties reportedly featured tables, menus, cash tills, bartenders, and a DJ. In his since-deleted post, he said he was raising money to recoup $15,000 he lost when police confiscated cash and liquor. Counsellor Sarah Kirby-Yung says this latest move is another slap in the face to hard-hit businesses in the city. “It’s ridiculous to suggest that he has been hard done by. The people that have been hard done by are the residents of Vancouver, who have been following the rules he broke,” she says. “Our restaurant sector — our bars and our nightclubs — have been hard hit. Many of them can’t operate many of them are having a tough time. For him to suggest that he’s suffering financial losses from running an illegal commercial activity is laughable.” Kirby-Yung also notes the parties ran afoul of city rules and bylaws and was apparently profiting from these illicit gatherings. “He also broke the rules by operating a commercial activity, without a business licence in a residential building in the City of Vancouver,” she explains. “Was he prepared to pay taxes and declare the income that he was getting on the illegal commercial activity, the illegal nightclub that he was running in his place? I don’t think so.” |

This is gonna be a long winter, long year. How do you guys look after your mental health during this pandemic? For me, I have spent more time in nature, hiking in the past year, to get my mind away from the shitshow that the world is experiencing now. I am thankful that beautiful BC has many good scenic hiking trails. It is harder to do the hiking thing in the winter with the colder temperatures and the heightened risk of avalanches in our local mountains. -video games, board games with family members, watching movies, artwork etc. for me. Has anyone started a new hobby during this pandemic? |

I know quite a few People have already started saying fuck it and hanging out outside of their household because they basically can’t take it anymore. And a lot of these people are people who I would consider “responsible” people who are weighing the risks VS their own well being. I consider myself fortunate that I have a large enough home to do hobbies, a dedicated office, room to excercise and even garden etc. If you’re a couple with a kid or two and you live in a 600sq ft appt, fucking kill me now. Personally I’ve been seeing friends here and there, might go over to a friends place and spend the night with 1-2 other people and just get lit up, catch up and have fun. Imo the feeling of relief and the joy of actually being in-person with friends is enough for the risk abs it ain’t changing anytime soon obviously so fuck it. |
Do you think we should take a step back and take a deep breath and get a perspective. Yes, I agree, this sucks but a couple with 2 kids in 600 sq ft apt is like normal life in HK, Paris, Tokyo, or New York. And that would be luxury in some parts of the world who live in shacks and huts. Is it just a matter of perspective or is it because people are used to a certain way of life and any restriction or changes for a year (or looking like a year and half now), is difficult and involves suffering? I dunno, everytime I think this sux, I just think how great we have it here. There isn't anywhere else in the world that I rather be riding this Covid sh*t out ... nor any other Province. I mean I have toilet paper, I can go to local Save-On, my fridge is full, in another thread, some are discussing where to order the best friggin Beijing/Peking Duck. Just let people vent and whine ... or put a soother in it? |
Canada the only G7 nation getting vaccines through the global Vaccine “share program” used by developing nations: https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.theg...or-developing/ For fuck sakes.. |
3 months, no problem..i mean we're all in this together 6 months, sure we've already sacrificed this much a year or several years...yeah that's gonna be a no from me dawg |
It’s wayyyyy passed “don’t go see friends so this can end soon” that’s bullshit. It ends when people get the vaccine. You can talk about how New Zealand etc. Has dealt with it, but cultural differences and the ineptitude of our govt. will prevent anything close to that ever happening in Canada. Now we’re begging for vaccines along with Uganda etc. Because our shit prime minister didn’t do enough to secure an actual supply of vaccines and people, businesses, families are paying the price. It’s a very Canadian thing to do to say, eh people live in shit holes elsewhere so it’s not so bad here. I agree completely that B.C. is about as good as it gets in terms of maintaining some semblance of normalcy. However that doesn’t excuse what a shit job govt. has done at all levels to get this over with ASAP. Then we get to see Bonnie crying on the news everyday next to sack of shot Adrian Dix and his govt. who bought me a new Duvet rather than saving your grandma in the care home |

He cannot even get his facts right about the AstraZeneca vaccine delivery time! https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/02...ne-deliveries/ The prime minister misspoke during his regular COVID-19 briefing about the amount of vaccine coming from one drug company, causing some false hope for Canada’s immunization efforts. Justin Trudeau said Friday during the question period that the country would be receiving the full order of AstraZeneca’s by the end of June. He said he had confirmation from the drug company’s CEO, however, government officials with public service and procurement have said that isn’t the case. The timeline for AstraZeneca won’t be detailed until the vaccine is approved by Health Canada, which could come soon |
at least with snc-lavlin/we scandals, boatloads of candians weren't dying daily as a direct result but now every time he says 'it's fine we're right on plan' is quite upsetting knowing the consequences i mean we werent around for the depression and great wars but how hard is it to have a leader who'll really fight for us when it counts |
