Anecdotes from 2 degrees of acquaintence (friend of friend) who work at CBSA at airport saying two people have been quarantined at Richmond general.

Edit: @JDMDreams I doubt there would be headlines, cause they don't want to cause mass panic.

Just in from @PHSAofBC. Despite rumours to the contrary, there are NO confirmed cases of novel coronavirus at Richmond Hospital or anywhere in B.C.

Perhaps they were quarantined for symptoms but it did not turn out to be coronavirus.

Also it's technically a false declaration when you declare $800 (CAD) rather than $800 USD at the border. But meh

I won't go into where I work but I want to say a couple of things.
1. You need to question where your information is coming from. Are they credible? What's their source?
A couple of screenshots being passed around on whatsapp has about the same validity as "yo i heard mcpizza is coming back, trust me I have a source"
2. The vast majority of people who die from seasonal flu include: The elderly, individuals with severely compromised immune systems (terminally ill, cancer patients, etc) and children can be susceptible too. SARS (and potentially the current virus) was capable of killing individuals who were otherwise healthy before being infected. It is NOT the same.

Technically they are a one time use mask. Having a small stock isn’t out of the question.
I don’t know how medical personel can’t trust those things. Even if your “fit tested” they still get bumped around. Shit, even with a true respirator half the time I have “leak” marks on my face (particulate which has bypassed the seal). I’m far from a germ freak, but I wouldn’t dare work in a hospital without a space suit. Hahah when this junk is going around. Lol
