Didn't realize Germany already told those who received AZ for their first shot, to get pfizer/moderna for their second shot instead

I got two separate notifications to make an appointment yesterday, one for work and one cause #PoCo. How much you willing to pay? Lol. Already had an appointment made for tomorrow. I don’t think the systems are talking to each other. Lol

Won't work. Your codes are connected with your PHN.

hud 91gt 05-07-2021 02:26 PM

That was a joke.

CRS 05-07-2021 02:27 PM

I'm just clarifying so that you don't get a PM later from random RS'ers

:lol

Uhg so gross lol..

So I applied twice for the govt. one and the pharmacy ones and one of each had the question, are you essential and do you work with seniors? And to both I said yes

And just now my wife who works completely from home for a 4 person business just got her invite...

Ironically she said “you were talking shit so you don’t get yours” right before I saw the comment about me on the last page.. when I mentioned this she said to thank you guys :/

punkwax 05-07-2021 03:00 PM

Your wife seems smart. I like her.

What kinda timeline are you guys seeing between when you get contacted and the time you actually get the shot?

JSALES 05-07-2021 04:01 PM

Does anyone know if the 3 hours paid leave to get vaccinated applies to federal workers as well?

If you get contacted to book (which is different than registering for a shot), it depends entirely on where you want to get your shot.

Like I said, we got our text to book this morning, Burnaby/New West was booked solid, no options in the future yet either. VCC was pretty empty, and some locations like Coquitlam were showing slots tonight.

Spectre_Cdn 05-07-2021 04:11 PM

Got an email to book this afternoon, and time slots in Richmond are only showing as available for the week of May 16. Monday filled up within two hours of the email, followed by Tuesday morning.

Depends on how far you want to go to find a date and time that works for you. There are no set appointment hours so it's really just the luck of the draw as to when you log in to try and book.

There were lots of open slots when I was booking my shot at VCC. I ended up picking a later afternoon one but I remember there were about 9-10 different time slots (both earlier and later) available. I called the COVID registration line a few minutes later because I wanted to see if I could push my appointment earlier instead but the lady on the phone said that there was only 1 slot left. I think it was only ~5 minutes from when I booked online to when I was talking to her. I ended up keeping my original time because she said she'd have to first cancel my existing time slot and then go back and re-book with whatever is available. If you cancel your appointment and the location gets filled up then you're SOL (which is fair)

dachinesedude 05-07-2021 05:01 PM

Under 40 here, got the text today, booked for Italian Cultural Centre, they have tons of slots in May

whitev70r 05-07-2021 05:06 PM

Kerrisdale has earliest openings ... from what I hear.

StylinRed 05-07-2021 06:11 PM

Got my shot :lol n I was literally just complaining earlier :lol

snowball 05-07-2021 06:26 PM

Are all of you VCH? I'm in Burnaby and my wife is waiting for her notice and I'm pretty sure she's older than some of you on here.

I got mine last month so I have nothing to compare to.

I'm in Burnaby South, by Royal Oak.

In Burnaby it depends on which neighbourhood you are in.

yray 05-08-2021 12:40 AM

mfw I'm still using prnts address in Richmond but I live in Edmonds :okay:

AzNightmare 05-08-2021 01:40 AM

Going to get vaccinated tomorrow.
I just registered maybe 3 weeks ago but apparently I'm in a hot spot so I got bumped.

You think the Canadian government is handling this badly? Take a look at what's going on in Colombia.

Covid is hardly a big deal for people like us. The rest of the world is falling apart. Getting vaccines to everyone asap will prevent some of the damage.

But no, the people who gambled have to make trillions.

i agree with you if we lived in utopia, but if we did there wouldn't be a pandemic in the first place

if a car company worked its ass off and spent hundreds of billions to work with a new metal that replaces lithium battery, should they immediately share the tech upon discovery? millions of people are dying from climate change, right?

if they just had to make minor alteration to viagara to somehow be an effective drug, sure

but mrna is bleeding edge, i sure as fuck aint just handing that to china who's foaming at the mouth trying to steal shit

capitalism aint 100% rainbows and sunshine but competition is why we advance..you take away the incentive (not throw billions for warp speed), we would still be scratching our heads. Unfair hindsight but canada took away vaccine manufacturing way back and now that's costed us

and why the hell do people here keep comparing canada to true 3rd world nations? if you made honour roll most semesters do you suddenly start to compare yourself to the stoner who never shows up to class and say hey we aite...only 25k deaths..like horgan said 'i appreciate we want to be like new zealand but nope we can't' :fulloffuck: maybe because i'd like to strive to improve but i'd rather we look at models where lives are starting to get back on track versus feeling smug seeing the bottom of the barrel

almost no one wishes pain and death on a massive scale, but these are not charities so the idea is as cute as people suggesting reshifting police funding in the span of a week or two
