I’ve thought the same, but fuck it. I’d rather be poor and having fun than be less poor living in edmonton, and having to budget 50k a year on vacations just to keep from jumping off the high level bridge.

Anyone that I know who has money and multiple homes always comes back to Vancouver
A family friend of ours lives half the year in Thailand, has enough fuck you money to do whatever he wants and still has his primary home in Vancouver (a detached downtown even lol)
The grass may be greener on the other side but unless you’ve got a butt load of money it’s very hard to make things work in another country. Especially if you don’t have a citizenship.
With that said, my wife just got her portgugese citizenship and Europe has always called me

Yes Edmonton is the nearest place you can move to. The interior does not exist, please ignore us.

iunno living in Alberta has its perks...not being house poor really opens up options
owning a nice car.....going on nice vacations
and honestly once you get used to the winters its not bad at all.
I actually find the weather to be more enjoyable in Alberta than Toronto (too humid)
that being said...my other half would much rather live in Vancouver....so I see both sides

I'm not house poor, just space poor. I lived in edmonton for 23 years. There's decent parts, but the one thing you just can't adapt to is that it's a shit geographical location. A nice car can only be on the road a few months of the year and could get written off by the canyons they call potholes, no one gets used to minus 30, and all that snow and no mountains within 3 hours.
Music scene has always been amazing there, and food scene was getting awesome, hopefully the good places come out the other side and survive.

What's the point of a nice car in a flat province with no corners and a 20 minute driving season? Quote:

Exactly my point. There's nothing to see here, move along. | It's not so bad, my buddy is in an exotic car club in Calgary and they do 5am runs out to Jasper or Banff every weekend pretty much... lots of curves only an hour or so away from the Rockies

I would move to Calgary 5x over before I moved to Edmonton. Lol. Closer hills, more scenic, more city, more warm. But less nice river valley. Lol

Yea not sure what that means for the border, so we still won't let Americans in?

Earlier on, Americans were worst off than us in terms of cases but now I think they are doing better than us overall, they have more people with 2 doses.
It may be to our economic disadvantage if we don't let them in. For example, cruise ships bypassing YVR on their way to Alaska.

Yes, they have more full two doses than us but in terms of population, we're in a better spot with more update percentage wise than the states.

Canada hasn't approved any sort of border opening so we still won't be allowing Americans in unless it's for 'essential travel'
