Yes. As long as the restaurant is doing business, then yes, regardless of private party. If the restaurant is closed, and just family gathering together, doors closed, then no. The gray area is one is still running as a business versus just a location. We had this in our HR department chat before: Drinking ON the job is 9-5 no matter how you call it. Drinking on-site would be after business hours. |

- closed door, private party <50 people - but restaurant will have another door just for public take outs - no pubilc sit down guests |
There’s no debate. If you are selling food and beverage to customers, whether it’s private or not, everyone has to be vaccinated. It’s written clearly that you aren’t in compliance if you are a licensed facility serving food or drink to unvaccinated patrons and risk (haha just kidding there’s no consequences) losing your liquor or business license. |

She clearly has legitimate mental health issues, and is showing to be dangerous, encouraging other people with similar issues and mental deficiencies. What is normally done with people like this? |

This scenario is eerily similar to how things are back in the Jan - Feb 2020 time frame when the original COVID broke out. There have been calls to at least step up measures at the border, if not down right bans on flights from the breakout hotspot countries (China, S.Korea, Iran, etc.) But obviously Trudeau has learned absolutely nothing from that time... |
I'm sure Chapman's is really worried about the 10-14% of the population (and whatever percentage of those people are actually on board with stupid twitter movements -- a good portion of them probably can't read so there's that too) not buying their products. Lame. South Africa variant not good. This better not start all over again. Quote:

I'm pretty sure my wife ate enough Chapmans when she was pregnant (they were the only one I could find with peanut free options) to have cancelled out any piddly impact they may have anyways. |
Block flights from SA all we want, it’s getting here regardless. Nothing short of closing the borders to 100% of people, in and out, citizens or not is going to prevent it from arriving. Letting the forest fire burn itself out is about the same effectiveness as pissing on one of the trees. |
Lol they are pulling the we have sufficient things in place to protect Canadians, PCR tests. Let's see how long this lasts. |
Travel bans don’t work. Seriously it’s the same drivel every time. Gov sucks because we didn’t close the borders. By the time the common joe, yes that’s you and me have heard about it, it’s way way too late for any ban to have any effect. If anything, implementing harsh travel bans only disencourages certain countries from testing for variants and announcing their results for collaborative efforts. This does suck though. Every variant up till this point we’ve heard about had the disclaimer that vaccines continue to be effective. This is the first that they admit vaccines are possibly not effective against which means it’s some really nasty shit. Fuck. |
The name of the new South African variant is called....Omicron. Who comes up with these Covid variant names? My initial thought to this name Omicron is "Is this a Decepticon from the Transformers movies?" "Did Megatron create a Covid variant?" LUL https://globalnews.ca/news/8404987/n...nt-of-concern/ |
I’ve heard that there is no data that the vaccinations will be less effective or not. They will need weeks to determine that. Pfizer also said that if the variant is more transmissible they can modify vaccines within weeks to best protect against it. |
Blocking flights is only a measure to slow the inevitable -- you guys are absolutely correct that the variant around the world one way or another. Still, implementing flight bans will buy us more time, and isn't that on its own is already worth something? During this borrowed time, at a minimum, the scientific community would be able to better observe how this variant spreads, what seems to work and what does, etc. Or perhaps Big Pharma would be able to adjust their vaccine formulation to protect against this strain instead of the original wild type that the vaccine was developed on. etc. etc. It's no different than being able to spread out your payments over a longer period of time instead of paying it all in one go. At the end of the day, you're still going to pay for the entire amount, but spreading it out over time makes it easier to manage. |

The need for extra time to determine the effectiveness of our current vaccines against the new variant is precisely one of the reasons why banning / restricting flights is a necessary measure. We need to buy more time! |
