Honestly wish we go Austria style and lockdown unvaccinated. | The non vaxxed aren't the issue; if they aren't allowed out - who do you think is spreading the koots? If you need three shots to prevent small pox, but you still get small pox, then a discussion should be had about the shots. Still median age of 83 for deaths in BC with a 99.97% survival rate. StatsCan posted that the first wave deaths were no different than influenza rates since 2016.
Cornell - 97% vax rate and now 900 cases of CV. Better get your boosters and still blame non-vaxxed people. lol. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/us/co...08O?li=AAggNb9 |

You know, it takes such a basic understanding of math to realize that 900 people being sick with Covid out of 97% of the population that's vaccinated isn't very much.
But 100 people out of 3% of the population that isn't vaccinated is actually quite a lot.
I mean, I'm an English Lit major that worked as a barista, and even I can figure out the meaning behind those numbers. Apparently none of the people arguing against vaccine efficacy can though?

The AZ vaccinated people are getting fast tracked for the latest round of mRNA boosters. By comparison purely from an anecdotal perspective, it seems to me that people who had the mRNA vaccines for their first 2 doses are seeing longer delays than before.

Looks like NFL has decided to give up and just let covid run through the league, hoping that most cases are asymptomatic and recover within a week. Should be interesting to observe what comes of this!

It will be interesting to observe, and may influence how other leagues and even countries with >90% vaccination rates deal with covid.
If this proves to be successful, it could lead to other policies doing the same, and we're going to start treating covid like an endemic disease.
This ain't common sense though, it's 100% pure capitalism |

Probably end up sacrificing a couple coaches or trainers for the season.

Well, our healthcare has been over burdened for decades, with national publications doing several articles about it - including Macleans and every Provincial paper. Go ahead, look it up; it's woke to throw words, but the reality is - the hospitals are running along just the same as always and the division government puts between people where it is okay to spew lies and hate one another, well look around - you're in great company here.

Covid has completely changed what services we can expect if we really needed to go to a hospital due to an emergency.
Health care union employees have been overworked for years and they have made it clear before. If you asked any of them now, they can tell you it has never been this bad ever. How do I know? My friend is a respiratory specialist and they have never been more stressed.
It is easy to throw around statistics and say the small number of deaths and hospitalizations don't impact much. If you agree that the system was taxed before, adding more to it now is enough to cause it to fail. That is why I care about the vaccination rates and positive cases. In the end, it will impact me or my family if there was an emergency.

Just because it was bad doesn't mean it can't be worse.
A kid broke a plate in your house. Since there's already one broken plate, what's another 5 more, is what you are saying.

There is endless information from everywhere from media, to patients in the healthcare system, to people that work in hospitals, even that have posted about their increases in OT in this very thread. Just because you don't like the info available due to it conflicting with what you've already decided the truth is doesn't mean it isn't real.
