I’ll be having Xmas eve with my family/parents relatively small group but Xmas day my wife’s family always has a big dinner that will essentially mix 6 different family groups, maybe more. Couldn’t really care less if it gets canceled as I don’t care for the person hosting but if they don’t cancel it I feel like it’s a pretty good barometer to the feeling of fatigue at least within their circled because I feel like the host is someone who is generally very cautious
I had kind of an epiphany in the summer when my parents had a big house party for my dads 60th. A bunch of people I hadn’t seen for 2-3 years were there and people were starting to look olddddd. I think for some people when you’re triple vaxxed and you’ve already lost 2/3 years of family moments which, to some, are the biggest, most important family events of the year, people are willing to risk it before they lose even more.
The retireee in the mid to late 60’s will have got completely fucked by Covid. People missed some of the prime years of their retirement and it’s a small window for good health for travelling etc at that point

Any bets that I won't be able to see The Matrix this Thursday?
I hate the process in which they make these announcements -- "We are making an announcement to make an announcement at 1:30PM tomorrow".
Jesus, why not just let us know as of yesterday, or this morning at the latest? It's not like they don't already know whatever decision they're going to make here.

A spokesperson for Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he and his family can’t get into their home due to anti-vaccination protesters demonstrating outside.
“The Premier and his family haven’t been able to get into their home for most of the weekend or today because anti-vaxxers have been protesting outside their house,” Ford spokesperson Ivana Yelich said in a tweet Monday evening.
On Sunday, Toronto Police confirmed that demonstrators had gathered outside of the premier’s Etobicoke home to protest what appears to be Ontario’s vaccination strategy against COVID-19.
Protesters have been known to frequent the premier’s home throughout the course of the pandemic to decry public health measures used to combat the spread of the virus.

No gyms is whack. I’m on my peloton anyways but I think it’s bullshit for the people affected. Can still go to a canucks game though. Surprise……

At least they didn’t fuck over restaurants
Thinking more and more I’m gonna have to buck up and buy a peloton or build a gym in spare bedroom. After Fortius closed I’ve walked into 2 gyms and they were completely fucking wack compared to what I would find ideal lol.. have barely done much more than walking and ring fit in a long time

There go my spin classes. Was really getting into it as well now that it is freezing outside. Cancelled my last class due to Omicron, so not surprised.
Hopefully getting a Reebok Deck workout bench for Christmas. Going to move my kitchen table to the side and start working out in my condo over the winter. Bought some free weights, but I really want to use them in an incline position or for pec fly's etc.
Glad they didn't close restaurants. That would have been an uproar. And really, most tables are 2 to 6 people anyways.

Hmmm. Dr. Henry did not mention any specific details about booster shot rollout progress in B.C.
We need our booster shots ASAP!

BC did the whole 4 months between first and second shots versus the traditional two weeks which is probably why our booster rollout is delayed.
According to their data this has actually improved the vaccine efficacy.

i was surprised to hear Dr. Bonnie actually say that everyone will be exposed to omicron eventually - that it can't be avoided.
We knew this, but there are still lots of people that think they will somehow dodge covid.
It's a refreshing realistic take - wonder if it was off script.
The rest of it...well, here we go again. Basically no income for me for the duration of these restrictions. My business is dependent on organized gatherings and events. I've spent the last month preparing for christmas break tournaments - making hay if you will. It would have been a lot easier to just set fire to 10 grand.

That's why they need to just roll out the boosters immediately.......... get everyone their third shot and then have at it.
If everyone is going to get it anyway, make sure everyone is prepared and put everything back to normal. Yah I know the concern then becomes hospitals being overwhelmed... overwhelmed by who? Antivaxxers? Time to get tough on them too, enough is enough. It's Canada of course though, can't just step on someone's neck and jab them.
Everyone should be full on HATING anyone who didn't get vaccinated yet. Like kick them in the nuts/cunny and spit on them hate... they're really fucking this up for all of us economically and socially.

The same thing has basically been said by different chief medical officers around the world, and from different epidemiologist that I watch / see in the news. It's just that they mostly said it in slightly different words -- usually something along the lines of:
"Everyone is going to develop some form of immunity against COVID. You either get it from the vaccine, or you get infected from it, or you died after getting sick."
Mind you, exposure doesn't necessarily equate getting infected, and getting infected doesn't necessarily means you get sick. IMO, the biggest difference comes from how highly infectious Omicron is, so that changes the equation from what is said above by a bit. I am glad Dr. BH is making it blunt so that there is no ambiguity in how COVID is going to affect us at an intimately personal level.
And now I am more concerned than ever about those who are under 5 because they are not eligible for vaccination yet. Quote:

No Canadian politician would have the balls (to be the first) to say it.
Now they probably will.
Good - be blunt. Be honest. Admit government's control over this is gone, and start having to defend your policies ie: the one variable we can control, the rebuild and expansion of our healthcare system.
