Start doing arm curls with your basket of food while you wait in line and Bonnie Henry will shut it down tomorrow.

westopher 12-31-2021 09:40 PM

Wear your Canucks jersey though and they will pour you free Cham pag knee

68style 12-31-2021 09:55 PM

Booked my booster shot for mid month which makes it just over 7 months since the 2nd. Local pharmacies offering shots don't seem to have much availability.

There used to be capacity limits even for grocery stores back in... 2020? Everybody had to line up outside Superstore / Safeway etc., and they only let in a certain number of people into the supermarket. It was actually quite an acceptable arrangement, since there aren't very many people in the supermarket at any given time, so the shopping experience was very efficient.

During my grocery shopping trips this week, the hordes of people in the supermarket really made me wish that measure could have been brought back. I wouldn't even mind waiting out in the cold (and snow).

Melbourne man sets himself on fire over jab mandates
January 02, 2022 - 08:28AM

A man has set himself alight in Melbourne while yelling expletives about vaccine mandates in Victoria.

Witnesses say he poured gas on himself and his car in Richmond around 8pm last night.

Police officers and firefighters doused the man in water before he was restrained with the help of witnesses.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sounds like a great guy to take medical advice from.

I've never been anti-vax, but I think this guy has some good points. I think from now on I'll take my advice from people like him and Dr. Rogan

Sounds like Ontario is moving to a stage 2 lockdown again… limited gatherings, closed indoor dining, online classes, 50% retail capacity, etc…

Ontario's original 2-day delay start to schools was just dumb. What would that even achieve? Did Ford and his education minister seriously expect the Omicron situation would ease in just 2 days?

Personally, I am expecting our (BC) school starting plans to change as well. I just don't know whether we're gonna delay K-12 classes for another week or two, or whether we're gonna go back into some form of online learning. But regardless, it's a bad situation either way. :(

I just saw the line for the drive through covid testing at YVR and it goes all the way to Templeton street. Crazy

whitev70r 01-03-2022 11:57 AM

Oh boy ... sh*t is hitting the fan after Christmas gathering infections coming through now.

COVID-19 Test Wait Time

As this pretty accurate? Anyone use this before?

Wonder how I can see wait times for Burnaby locations.

Hondaracer 01-03-2022 03:00 PM

Seemed pretty accurate for the N.Van one imo

hud 91gt 01-03-2022 03:10 PM

I did the N.Van one yesterday. Spent maybe 20 minutes in line and a lady was handing out take home tests. So I did that. Was an hour at the time, and I assume the wait was probably correct.

Domed 01-03-2022 04:56 PM

Just got my booster shot in vancouver. Im 32 years old non immunocomprimised, non essential worker. Got the booking email on saturday. No lineups no nothing. In and out in 20 minutes with the 15 minutes wait time after the shot.

Razor Ramon HG 01-03-2022 06:20 PM

Drove by BCIT and found out it was appointment only. Drove to North Van and had to wait in line for about an hour. Got in and they said based on symptoms and exposure date to take a rapid test home and self-monitor if symptoms continue after 24 hours.

320icar 01-03-2022 07:50 PM

This is insane. Richmond Costco so busy today they had to shut the front doors twice and stop people coming in because the cashier lineup was snaking all the way to the back of the store in/around the deli and meat department.

But I can’t have a nice Christmas dinner with family or go to the gym lol

Do they hand you home test kits? My family and I were going to get ourselves tested after a family member was tested positive, but the place on Cambie and 33rd was closed. Drove to UBC and to see the line, we drove home... Decided to quarantine and rest instead of knowing our results.

I'm sure it's way worse than that since we've hit our testing capacity. I'm already hearing of work places shutting down cuz too many ppl sick.

Hope everyone had the best Christmas ever :okay: at least there was snow
