To an extent, yes, but like Westopher said, profiling due to behaviour isn't the same as profiling for something they literally can't control.
But yes, as with everything in life, people will fall on a spectrum and not just on one side or the other, I'm fully aware. Like for example we had a young (mid 20's guy) at work refusing to get vaccinated, but he wore a mask and did whatever else was asked and I can respect that. (he ended up getting the shot when he realized he would have to drive back to Ontario for Christmas if he didn't, lol)
People I can't stand is the crusty old guy that lives in my building who got into a fight with someone when they asked why he wasn't wearing his mask in the elevator. Since then he made it a point to go onto elevators at capacity and yelling at people to get off if they're so afraid of him and the chinavirus. You don't need to be a genius to figure out where his stance on vaccines are.
I appreciate you sharing your experiences. Indeed there are different levels to people making the choice to not vaccinate and it's not all for the same reason. There is crossover for sure but not everyone wants to burn it all like that crusty old guy and not everyone is out to make public scenes or make others feel unsafe.
Realistically this whole thing can never "end" unless every single human is vaccinated. If even one person is left out and the world declares this pandemic "over" or whatever the demic it turns into then the rest of the population will wonder why that person isn't dead and the whole "do your part" narrative is torched. Doubling down now is the only play but it builds up the hate for those who don't deserve it and creates the unnecessary divide. All for safety?
By Michael V. Callahan and Mark C. Poznansky
Dr. Callahan and Dr. Poznansky are infectious disease experts at Massachusetts General Hospital. They previously worked on a Darpa program designed to predict and protect against pandemics.
Soon after the novel coronavirus emerged, its genome was sequenced and vaccines were developed at, yes, warp speed. These are all herculean tasks that deserve praise. But America’s achievement stops there. The initial vaccine strategy was reactive and tactical, not decisive and strategic. While it prioritized getting safe, effective vaccines into bodies as quickly as possible, it did not consider how to prevent variants or subsequent waves of the virus.
All coronaviruses produce variants, and as with prior coronavirus outbreaks, variants of SARS-CoV-2 emerged as the virus spread from Wuhan, China, across the planet. The next danger is the further evolution of variants that can overcome the immunity provided by existing Covid-19 vaccines and prior infections.
The second generation of Covid-19 vaccines, which are now in development as booster shots, is aimed at known variants, but they are not designed with future variants in mind. This is “whack-a-mole” vaccine development, an inefficient and costly approach that chases yesterday’s virus. What we need is “kill shot” immunity, which would protect people against all current and future variants and bring an end to the pandemic.
It is possible to make a vaccine like this — if scientists closely study the patterns of how viruses mutate, and design vaccines for the viruses that we’re about to face, not just the ones we have now. This approach is especially important considering the number of ways viruses can emerge in humans, including from natural spillover (when a virus spreads from one species to another) or an accident in a virus research laboratory (“lab leak”) — both scenarios that are, appropriately, the subject of serious investigation.
Also, we had an interesting debate on China's situation over the weekend. My cousin's wife's uncle lives in China, and they are essentially "back to normal", at least where he lives. Little restrictions, day to day, etc. At first I was impressed, then skeptical, and I found this article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...deos-show.html
Essentially if you have covid you and everyone around you is sent to what can only described as a concentration camp. Anyone using China as some stellar example of covid response is either brainwashed, narrow-minded, and/or an idiot.

I understand what you're saying, but there are counter-arguments using your same logic. The "hate" is largely manufactured by the hardcore antivaxxers playing victim to something they either made up or put themselves into. Most vaccinated people don't actually "hate" anyone, but the loudest (and stupidest) minority are making it really easy to ostracize them because they spew bullshit.
It's not 'hate' to decide not to let unvaccinated people into public spaces, nor is it some nefarious scheme to a class system. It's literally consequences to actions, and the only real victims of this is people who legitimately can't get the shot, not just because Jesus doesn't want them to.
In the end, we're all human beings, and there's no real "right answer". But there's definitely a wrong one, and it's the idiots who subscribe to that ideology that frankly deserve all the flack they get.
Maybe just me that thinks this way when I read the news about post-secondary students all petitioning about in class rooming learning. Just withdraw from the course, get your fully course money back. Then take the course later on when Covid is settled down from the variants. Keep reading about people bitching as though someone is pointing a gun to their head they must absolutely go to school. Covid has impacted everyone lives, what's a semester or two pushed back going to affect your education from?
For students that are on student loan, withdrawing from the course is quite often not an option because it will affect that loan status.
Anyone else sick of fucking anti-vaxxers/maskers/covid deniers keep using that "Love over Fear" meme to seem above it all and holier than though, when in reality the only thing they love over all else is themselves.

It’s working on ya! Lol

Some anti-vaxxer was making fun of people wearing their masks in their car alone, and I'm like uh, aren't you about "my body my choice"? Didn't even being up abortions (which I know they're against). SMH.
Haha yah I was driving a short distance once last year and wasn't thinking about it and kept my mask on, was getting out of my car and some yankeedoodle in a truck yelled something at me.
Funny how it's such a trigger to some people. Not sure how what anyone is choosing to wear has anything to do with anyone else, it's literally not hurting anyone else to wear one even if it was like 5 years ago.
I wear a mask in my car sometimes because I'm lazy and my next stop is only a few minutes away.
^same.
Last week, I could smell vape smoke(?) in my car from another car in front of me. Made me regret not wearing a mask at the moment, considering how transmissible omicron is.
But at the same time, the smoke has tumbled around outside and through a cabin filter... so that may have been an overreaction.
Ooh and another one. I'm not "anti-vaxx" I'm just "pro-choice"
..."except when it comes to a woman's right to choose...then I'm pro-life"
I was talking to a friend.
He is against the vaccine because it is too new and was rushed.
Doesn't know the long term effects.
But forces his GF's to take the morning after pill because he doesn't like sex without a condom.
And now he's convinced her to use IUD's.

Could be worse.
Wife and I were walking outdoors and a guy walked past us with a mask on and we could still smell his garlic breath.
