That’s literally why I was there.
Again, I don’t really care but it just goes to the absurdity of the govt.s regulations on this stuff. The people
Coming in to visit these people who are far less likely to work in an environment of encountering strangers all day long have to take a rapid test. There is no reason not to test contractors, and infact a lot of the private care facilities do. However these government ones that have always been on the top of the list of care facility outbreaks do not test.

I googled it this morning, looking for confirmation if I'm reading correct.
If I book a flight out of Seattle to say California other than being vaccinated and completing ArriveCan is there anything else I need as far as testing to travel into and back from the US by car?

Why not just fly from here, going to Seattle to fly is a total pain in the ass.
The only diff is you have to pay someone to watch you take an instant test leaving from here.

Flew out of Seattle for a bachelor party in Scottsdale once, I think it saved about $300 each
After that I would have paid $600 to not have had to do it lol

ya unless the flight it WAY cheaper, not worth it to go to seattle.
bellingham on the other hand is 10 mins if that further from my house, cheaper parking, get gas. and it was a cheaper overall flights.
bham-seattle-fort lauderdale. would have been yvr to seattle then the same flight to Florida anyways.

I need to go to Seattle for something else, two birds one stone.
I have another flight booked out of Bellingham in June, I can get there quicker than I can YVR.
I just wasn't sure what the policy was with flying and crossing.

Nothing COVID related entering the U.S. but vax proof and ArriveCAN was required to enter Canada at Peace Arch.

To make it simple for anyone.
Fly to US = COVID Test Prior
Driving to US = No COVID Test
ArriveCan is required in both of the above scenarios returning home, whether driving or flying.

Could it either be PCR or supervised medical rapid test or is it strictly PCR testing?

-Go to London Drugs or any other pharmacy and pickup your 5-pack rapid test package for free.
-Book online with any of the televised providers in which you conduct the test over camera (takes 5 mins). Cost varies $20-$35

How much do people want to bet that Canada will never scrap that ArriveCan process?
I feel like we'll likely keep that in place in perpetuity -- the ability to track when and where people are entering the country is far too useful for the Canadian government to throw away at this point.

Yea, let’s just have 10 passports.
Can go along with your 10 boosters
Why do I have to give anyone a “heads up” I’m coming home? Scanning my passport on the departing flight isn’t enough?

Oh Honda you’re so oppressed. Now you need an app on your phone to travel freely to other countries?! What are you going to do about the gigs taken up by candy crush and junes journey?!

No honestly the arrivecan app seems absolutely useless especially for covid now
why does the govt even need it they know when our passport gets scanned/pinged anyway

Lol this is like so much other govt. BS that people get upset about or has happened in the past and people just flippantly say “oh well”
Then fast forward 10 years from now and it’s evolved into this giant headache for everyone but no one who said “oh well” before says shit then.
A lot of this stuff is also dismissed by people who never travel. I could go to the EU and you’d never know where I was between 30 countries. But to come home to the country I have citizenship I have to fill out all this shit basically to “catch” me in a lie or a misstep because I clicked the wrong button? Fuck off
We’ve got a huge thread of people botching about getting VI’s. saying you’re ok with the arrivecan app is akin to me going into that VI thread and saying you know what? Fuck your modded cars. Who needs to mod their car? Get your muffler off the ground you idiot etc.
I don’t wade into that because who knows, maybe in the future I want a car that will be VI bait. I don’t just willingly bend over and say the laws the law!! Obey and accept these changes that negatively effect you lol.
Btw, the arrivecan app does absolutely nothing to speed up the process nor does it seem to have any tangible reason for being upon arrival into Canada from an international destination. The process is exactly the same as it was prior to Covid, you still need to do all the customs stuff, all the clearance, and questionnaires at the kisok in the airport, still scan your passports and have your photo taken etc. as far as I know every single carrier currently requires you to be fully vaccinated in order to board a plane. So it’s not confirming vaccination status either because that’s done on both the departing and arriving legs of any flight.

Your passport is scanned at the time of entry. ArriveCan you're populating that information ahead of time.
I would say that's quite useful information that is not attainable by scanning a passport at the port of entry. Think to yourself why that would be.
