There used to be what was called a "Ready Lane." During certain times of the day, you could get similar access to Nexus privileges. They had these lanes on the US side of things. Canada never got their shit together. It was less of a hassle to get the Enhanced Driver's License, because all you had to do was get it at an ICBC license location. It was great, but only Peace Arch, and Sumas border crossing had these lanes. 264th crossing had it for a while. Anyway, they ditched to program, but it is still good until the license needs to be renewed. I have two years left. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for my Nexus Interview. Fucking hell........... I applied over two years ago. It'll be three years in August of 2022, ffs.

Pretty much, why do I have to trigger roam like home to make a change within the app?

If MG1 is correct, then I'm fine with that. I still plan on trying it out as I don't carry an enhanced drivers license so perhaps his experience is different. We'll see.

I've used a passport to cross a few times, 'cause wasn't sure if the Enhanced Card worked still. After asking a few times, I was convinced the Enhanced method was more convenient. When I did cross with passport, it was the same thing. Never got asked why I was crossing early and at a different crossing.

Actually, that's when border guard told me, the location is used for statistics and not a big deal.

Going again to Bellingham on Monday. Seniors Day at the Silver Thief.

I've got my eye on a Made in Japan, Tiger Rice Cooker at Costco for &89.99. They were out of stock for quite some time. There were plenty on them at the Bellingham location on Wednesday, so off I go to pick one up, along with a few other items at Trader Joe's. And, a case of Starbucks Frap from Costco. It'll last me about half a year. Nothing like an ice cold bottle in the middle of summer.

3 different threads talking about border crossing going on at the same time. LOL get your shit together RS. :fuckthatshit:

So nice not having to show vaccine records at the casinos. Just have to lower the mask when entering (security camera). Masks aren't required, but a good number of people are wearing them.

Sound on:

They flew in a drone to tell people to shut up

(disclaimer, I have no idea if any of this is real)

StylinRed 04-11-2022 04:31 AM

There's twitter clips of ppl jumping to their death because they can't take it anymore, and lots of clips of people's pets getting seized and thrown into bags, also clips of residents not taking it anymore and raising grocery stores for food, and clips of ppl in hazmat suits throwing food away

But the quality of some of those clips looks ancient, so I doubt they're all recent or in shanghai

ilovebacon 04-11-2022 08:58 AM

shanghai people arent having it with the extended lockdowns are they?

Online said that they are being left starving inside their homes.

68style 04-11-2022 12:43 PM

Truckers heroes... we need you in Shanghai!

... radio silence...

Alpine 04-11-2022 12:45 PM

Hard to trust what's coming out of China, especially since all those Wuhan covid videos showed people simply collapsing on the street at the start of the pandemic.

any recommendations on where to get a covid test for travelling by air to the US? I see shoppers offer it for $150 but wondering if there are better deals elsewhere.

Hondaracer 04-13-2022 10:46 AM

If you’re an aeroplan member switch health does 2 tests for $75

68style 04-13-2022 11:22 AM

lifecenters.ca

$20 + $5 per person for extra tests at the same time if you have a spouse or partner

Used it to go to LA yesterday

Lol a new one on Instagram I've been seeing from the guy previously kicked off the hockey team chat thread for being a Right Wing MAGA anti vaxxer fuckin' redneck blaming inflation on the fed printing (he's not wrong here) and giving away money via CERB, meanwhile the same guy who got laid off early on in COVID and applied for CERB in the first place in order to keep his RAM truck and south Surrey condo he got from his rich parents who paid his tuition to VC and is now sells heavy construction equipment and does power washing on the side.

How stereotypical can you get.

Haha I had a finger or three of the brown earlier tonight so don't mind my ramblings. Westopher knows what's up.

Lots more video in this thread, some very familiar looking scenes:

I wonder how many of those people spoke out against the protests in Hong Kong? Probably a lot :considered:

StylinRed 04-14-2022 06:32 PM

There's video of these types of apartment block communities refusing to allow people who've recovered from covid back home, and now they're forced to be homeless. Govt won't let them stay in hospital, and residents won't let them back home, and everything else is shutdown, so they're stuck in shanghai with nowhere to stay

SkinnyPupp 04-14-2022 07:00 PM

And throughout all this, they've only reported 2 covid deaths so far

EvoFire 04-14-2022 07:02 PM

Sure it's exaggerated that there's only 2 deaths, but I won't be terribly surprised there's not THAT many deaths since omicron isn't that deadly.

I'll write this out in a separate reply, because I think the person above may just be trolling. But for real, since Shanghai is roughly in the same situation HK was in terms of old people not being fully vaccinated, and the population is roughly 4-5 times higher, the death rate probably correlates with that early on.

So they should be reporting around 1200-1500 deaths per day

Not 2 total

Hondaracer 04-14-2022 07:38 PM

Can’t be considered dead if no one knows where you are :drunk:
