^ Can't classify it as a covid case, when the body is found x weeks or months later = no covid cases

:derp:

underscore 04-14-2022 10:41 PM

You think anyone will ever find the body?

If the numbers were actually low they wouldn't need to fudge them.

StylinRed 04-15-2022 01:11 PM

Elderly care homes in shanghai have had dozens of deaths, but they're just being cremated, and families are not being told if the residents are covid positive, though orderlies are saying there are covid cases in the building

Can't be a covid death if they don't report it as such

JDMDreams 04-15-2022 02:15 PM

^^ same thing as here there's no COVID if we don't test :troll:

US airlines lifting all mask mandates and theatres in Canada removing all mask guidelines.

Hopefully Canadian airlines follow suit shortly, wearing them on the plane is the worst/most uncomfortable situation I find in wearing them

JDMDreams 04-19-2022 09:26 AM

Sounds like a first world problem, must be nice to have masks or planes:lawl:

Hondaracer 04-19-2022 09:57 AM

Yea I really wish I was in the squalor of some Chinese quaratine pen given the choice

CivicBlues 04-19-2022 02:39 PM

If it's all good with you guys let's just keep masks on planes mmmkay? It's so nice to not get sick after a long flight and being miserable on vacation. People are disgusting animals in the best of times.

Few hours of minor discomfort > sick for a few days while on vacation.

Have you worn a mask on every previous flight in your life and not had any food or drink and compared the current results of everyone else wearing a mask? When people remove it to eat or drink doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of wearing a mask?

SkinnyPupp 04-19-2022 03:16 PM

Aside from hospitals, planes are literally the last place that masks should come off.

And no, taking them off to eat doesn't "defeat the whole purpose". It increases risk yes, but not "the whole" risk.

MarkyMark 04-19-2022 03:29 PM

Shouldn't the last place where masks come off be around people who aren't vaccinated, not a plane full of vaccinated people?

I'll wear them until it's not mandatory and then I'll stop like the other 90% of the plane will as well.

Current vaccines with the current strain of covid aren't very effective in preventing spreading.

So, no. Until covid is at the very least endemic, but preferably when it's less deadly and contagious (either with a new strain or better vaccines) places like planes, trains, subways, buses, should all require masks still. They should be the last place where masks mandates are lifted... Other than hospitals of course.

Hondaracer 04-19-2022 03:38 PM

The 2 hours of everyone not wearing a mask on a flight eating I’m sure mitigates A LOT of the “safety” of wearing it for the rest of time.

If you don’t like it, keep wearing it. I had a few 5 and 6 hour flights recently and I’d gladly remove it for comfort alone considering stuff like..ya know..double vaxxed + recovered.

If you’re 70+ and inmuno compromised travelling for leisure, sorry but it’s not my responsibility to protect you from yourself.

You can go to a Canucks game with 19,000 people not knowing their vaccination status etc. no mask, no temp checks, etc. yet I should wear a mask on a plane with FAR superior ventilation and filtering with 300 people all vaccinated and temp checked? Nah

SkinnyPupp 04-19-2022 04:05 PM

Not going to argue with a covid denier in 2022... We both stated our opinions on it and can leave it at that.

MarkyMark 04-19-2022 04:28 PM

I don't think anyone is denying Covid is real but what's considered less deadly at this point for someone who's vaxxed and will probably lose their mask before and after their plane has landed? It's already super contagious, is the 5 hour flight really going to prevent people from getting Covid as this point?

I went to Mexico 2 weeks ago and other than the airports/plane you wouldn't even know Covid was a thing. At some point you have to just accept the majority don't care anymore and you're not preventing anything with small windows of wearing a mask (which by the way could be any old piece of shit you put on your face just to look the part, who knows how well some dudes 2 year old cloth mask is helping).

Hondaracer 04-19-2022 04:31 PM

Maskless for a week at a resort with 5000 people. Get in a hepa filtered tube, wurrrr yerrrr mask bro!

68style 04-19-2022 05:20 PM

I’m literally sitting in LAX waiting for my flight right now and probably 10% of people around me have masks on (I do as well actually).

For people working here it’s about 50/50.

It matters for destination too I saw a flight board to Dallas and there was 1 mask on the entire boarding lineup, but now that it’s switching over to Vancouver peope there’s quite a few haha… good little Canadians.

Im just choosing to wear cuz this space is pretty crowded and really poorly ventilated in my opinion, also I was just at Coachella with like 100,000 people so who knows if I’m carrying it? I’ll try to help mitigate risk for others if I can just in case I am even though I feel fine.

When did you become so soft?
You sound like a guy who takes his own bedsheets on trips because he only sleeps on 600 thread count min.

68style 04-19-2022 05:41 PM

600? That chaffs mangggg 1000+ only

MG1 04-19-2022 07:00 PM

I sleep on nothing but Blissy pillow cases. I was skeptical at first, but it really feels "silky" smooth. Cool and my hair and beard love it.........

Silk bed sheets, silk/satin opera gloves, :ifyouknow::lawl:

Like that song from 9-1/2 weeks............ you can leave your gloves on.

What's this "thread" about, again?

That sounds like a pretty self-centred post. What about a young family with kids under 5? Tough luck, not my problem, they shouldn't travel?

The space in a plane is far more crowded compared to Rogers arena. I don't know about you, but every time I get off a plane, I feel so dirty...

Here is a good example of someone being selfless and considerate of others.

Hehe 04-19-2022 09:45 PM

To be frank... there are more people around me whose households had at least 1 covid case than those who never got it. And among those who claim they never had it... many had symptoms but never had the gut to go out and get tested. So, that claim of being a covid virgin is suspicious at best.

With Omicron being dominant and yet less virulent than the other variant prior, I think it's time for some adjustments to our life and policies.

Yes, it transmits like crazy, and yes it can kill and yes, it can wreak havoc in a community that's otherwise safe from other transmissible viruses.

However, if you are in a society where the vast majority is double/triple vaccinated, or young and healthy, I really see little sense to be too overly scared of the virus.

It's not about being a virus denier or whatever... I'm just saying that at this point, I won't say or even think much if I see a person not wearing mask/keeping social distance. Same thing toward those who do.

I still wear masks and keep social distance whenever I can as a courtesy to others, but I'm past the point where I still see Covid as a serious threat. There are more important issues that deserve our attention now... like the war/humanitarian crisis going on in Ukraine, crazy high inflation... etc.
