Apparently they don't want people doing that either

"That means no milk runs to Bellingham [in Washington state]," Health Minister Adrian Dix told a news conference.

Eat a dick fuckwit. :lol Both SARS and COVID-19 started in the same area of China's medeival wet markets. Every country should be accountable to their own people for the spread of this or any virus. I guess unsanitary open air animal markets are natural occurances right? :lol

Maybe natives should sue white people for all the diseases they brought to North America.

14-day quarantine for anyone who travels abroad. I'm guessing that includes the states?

To compete with Amazon they've allowed private sellers, so ya, don't look online for masks

Pharmacies, ull have to ask, they may or may not have inventory, and may not sell to you

Medical supply store prolly Ur best bet

Why Wearing a Face Mask Is Encouraged in Asia, but Shunned in the U.S.

You guys better hope the mask trend picks up in North America. I know the experts say don't bother, but they've never seen a disease like this.

I predict that they will change their recommendations eventually. It might be delayed due to the fact that there's just not enough to go around, and telling people to wear masks when they can't get one would cause panic. Taiwan can make 10M a day, but aren't exporting them. US and Canada should be on their knees begging them for masks.

No government or force in the world can stop this kind of stuff, period. That's like taking down the Dark Web completely. There is very little anyone can do for this kind of illegal market. We can keep busting them and keep them in check, but completely eliminating it? Never going to happen.

About the only people who enjoy doing this kind of stuff are either rich or social media attention seekers, and both of them will go great length to do anything they want in any culture. If you wish to change their beliefs, be my guest.

How come were not banning all international and domestic travel.

Shutdown the country for a month and give everyone employment insurance.

We have a small window to stay on top of this. What is the government waiting for.

I just came back through nexus lines at pacific crossing.

USA just asked me where i was going and if i had anything to declare.

CANADA asked me to declare items, and if i was out of North America in the last 14 days and if i was feeling sick.

They mentioned nothing about self quarantine.

It all seems to be suggestion, reading that article.

Also not closing schools because kids can go to school to learn about social distancing? :seriously:

Closing schools should be literally the first thing you do, even before any border controls. Kids are walking petri dishes LUL

Seems serious enough that they're considering reinstating retired doctors....

Not forcing them but asking nicely.

BC asks retired doctors to help if local coronavirus cases reach crisis
Megan Devlin

Mar 12 2020, 2:50 pm

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC is asking recently retired doctors if they’d consider re-instating their qualifications to ease the strain on the health care system if the local COVID-19 outbreak worsens.

“This is the first time in my three-and-a-bit decades [in medicine] that anything like this has ever happened,” said Dr. Heidi Oetter, registrar with the college.

The move follows a request from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry to use a mechanism called emergency registration, which enables BC to register physicians from other parts of the country in times of crisis.

But other provinces are also dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, which is why the college is reaching out to BC’s own retired doctors, Oetter explained.

“We said hm, we don’t think there’s terribly many doctors in other provinces being underemployed,” she said.

The college is emailing all BC doctors who retired within the last two years. Already, Oetter said there’s been interest.

She was clear the college is asking physicians, not demanding they come back. Because many retired physicians are older, she said it’s important they do “their own risk assessment.”

2 months of "there's no concern for Canadians and the risk is extremely low" and doing nothing to slow the importation of the virus like the rest of the modern countries in the world and now and trudeau most likely has it but is choosing to not be tested. Great fucking leadership.

If he's saying he's not getting tested, that goes against absolutely everything we know about this virus. MOST PEOPLE who got the virus, got it from someone who wasn't even sick.

Even if they hadn't fucked or kissed or even held hands, they've been breathing the same air for all this time. No it's not airborne, but even a drop of spit when you're talking can spread it.

My theory is that they want to keep it on the down low to not spread panic. The idea of an actual world leader getting this virus will shake a lot of people.

Yeah I got asked if I'm experiencing any flu symptoms. I think US travel is not recommended, and 14 day quarantine is required, but how are they going to enforce that.
