Long COVID for me. I got COVID almost 2 months ago (shortly before the new vaccine was released :(). It lasted about 2.5 weeks, but I still had symptoms. I would either be feverish or have bad chills. The chills stopped happening about 2 weeks ago, but I still get a ~100F fever almost every night. Often, I wake up drenched in sweat. However, I've discovered that taking ~60mg in THC gummies, 90 min before bed, helps to prevent that.

The real question is, how many of you are getting your next covid shot.

I got my 3rd + regular flu shot at the same time a few weeks ago. I asked buddyguy that gave it to me, and he said that 90% of people were getting both shots. Only 10% were getting just the flu shot.

After having covid once, i want nothing to do with that, ever again

Wheres Skidz and CharlesInCharge at?!?!?

I got both a while back too. I would've gotten them anyways but with all the colds and mystery illnesses my kids have brought home I'll take any help I can get.

I took the skytrain for the first time in probably 10 years, and there were so many people just coughing and sneezing and generally being disgusting.

Yeah that's annoying, if you're going to sneeze it's so easy to pull your shirt over your mouth and nose or sneeze into your sleeve.

Sign O’ the times. Most people don’t give a shit about anyone else anymore. It all started when they stopped teaching the golden rule. It’s a fuck or be fucked, world. Gone are the days you thought about your fellow man (woman or LGBBQ+). They also stopped teaching other important stuff, like grammar, handwriting, and spelling. Why? Because the teachers of today can’t if they wanted to. I know friends who were, at one point, upstanding citizens, but have basically given up. Role models? Nope. There are still a handful of really good people here in this community of ours called RS……………… /rant.

Can’t give up. Not now.

I tested negative but these symptoms are basically mine. I keep waking up drenched. This morning was pretty rough - my throat was on fire and I couldn't speak or anything without being in severe pain. This is probably the first time in a couple of days that I've had energy to get up.

I feel like people abided by the guidelines while things were still scary but once that fear subsided they pulled a hard 180 degrees and went straight back to the disgusting habits they had all along. People just suck. Hard fact of life to face but it's an objective reality for large majority of people out there.

Like Billy Joel’s song, Keeping the Faith. I haven’t stopped wearing a mask. All it takes is one time at my age. Judge all you want. You only die once.

quasi 12-08-2023 11:58 AM

Although I'm not going to wear a mask anywhere I'm not forced to I totally support your choice to wear one, do whatever makes you comfortable.

found out I have RSV. the whole shop has it. I was wondering why they are airing that Gretzky PSA 3 times an hour. it's a friggin epidemic.

edit: fixed

Liquid_o2 12-11-2023 08:55 AM

Lol, Prelude SR-V?

MarkyMark 12-11-2023 10:02 AM

Sounds like something you have to tell all your past sexual partners about so they can see if they have it as well.

Posted that as soon as I saw your post describing the symptoms.

Older adults and INFANTS............ If you know someone who is pregnant, let them know - not sure if masking helps with this one.

N.V.M. 12-11-2023 11:14 AM

looks like nobody is aware of RSV. that's ok, I had no idea either. holy hell its bad. somehow it's hiding between Covid and influenza.

EvoFire 12-11-2023 03:27 PM

RSV is up there in nastiness, you don't hear about it because most people who don't have kids just treat it as a bad flu and brave through it. People with kids know because a not insignificant percentage of kids end up at emergency, especially if you have asthma like mine does. ER visits are the norm.

MG1 12-11-2023 04:38 PM

Revscene virus............. nasty shit. Had it since 2002. Fucked up for life.

I wonder if that's what I have. I have a loss of appetite but maybe cause I haven't been smoking weed and getting munchies lol. All my symptoms are gone now but still have a bad lingering cough - like cough up my lungs with phlegm typa bs. Doc says it's just the common cold - influenza with a lingering cough.

6793026 12-12-2023 07:45 AM

there is a flu going around.. kids under 9 are getting weakness wit their legs as if they cant' or don't know how to walk.

that is scary as F.....
my wife is seeing it daily in the hospital.. thank goodness it's a flu and after 4-6 days of medication it will go back to normal.

seeing a kid who runs, crawls, wlaks..all of a sudden have wobbly legs is scary.

Badhobz 12-12-2023 07:59 AM

spoon.ek9 12-13-2023 12:06 PM

received an email today saying our hospital is working at 130% capacity. it's been bad for a few months now. hand hygiene and masks are highly recommended!

I honestly don't think cpvid is the cause of the 130% capacity, hospitals were already running at max capacity before covid. Now we have had mass immigration with millions of people coming into Canada the past three plus years and a number of hospital staff losing their job because they didn't want to get vaccinated so of course its going to be running at 130% capacity. We did it to our selves and of course covid isn't helping either but there are a number factors causing this and blaming covid is complete bs in my eyes.

Hondaracer 12-13-2023 12:39 PM

What’s new.

spoon.ek9 12-13-2023 12:39 PM

you're drawing a lot of conclusions based on your own opinion of the situation here. I'm not saying this is entirely because of covid. Just as it has been with the last couple of years, it's the combination of flu, covid and rsv that's causing a lot of people to get sick during our cold season. also, capacity refers to the number of beds that are occupied, it has nothing to do with number of staff.

68style 12-13-2023 12:40 PM

It's about 400,000 per year immigration wise not "millions", but you're not totally wrong.
