Is this a war? I think public opinion is pretty divided.

Was at Royal Columbian hospital today, signs outside asking people not to visit friends/family

No ones wearing a mask, many ppl coming in saying their flu like symptoms are just allergies

Staff is like "oh okay" /shrug

One lady said she recently developed a cough, so they had her wait in a separate waiting room, and the radiologist geared up in a hazmat suit to assist her, but everyone seems very laid back... So many seniors, none seeming to take precautions, such as a mask

Gas dropping 5 cents daily in Victoria with Costco leading the way.

K-12 schools closed but I think daycares should also be closed with care available for essential workers' children.

This whole thing has made me think about fast-tracking the purchase of a travel trailer. Having a house on wheels could be handy in any disaster.

What’s the endgame? If we do 2-3 weeks of full lock down with everyone staying home, is that just to create a buffer for infection?

Those graphs are all fine and good but if you slow the curve of infection only to start opening things again in 3 weeks aren’t the numbers just going to spike again? The info on this type of stuff is severely lacking

I have a travel trailer and it's an awesome way to travel and vacation.

Did a road trip all over oregon in 2018 hauling a trailer. Definitely saved a ton of money on accommodations.

Wow I was just typing out this exact same question.

I think they are hoping it will be like SARS and they will get a handle on it.

However this hasn't hit 3rd world countries yet. India, Africa, Brazil.

What happens when it flares back up 6 months from now? We're gonna be in the exact same position are we not?

Berz out.

This is why people are saying that this isn't ending anytime soon here.

The initial estimate of 2-3 weeks was simply to calm people down, primary the markets. The truth is, our governments aren't able to tell the full reality here, heck even Trump finally admitted yesterday this could last until July/August.

The truth is this isn't ending for at least a month if not even longer.

Can you imagine the Canadian government announcing after 2 weeks that the social distancing can end, and within that first week we hear of new cases? That would be a literal PR nightmare.

There's no way we're going back to normal in 2-3 weeks from now.

BTW anyone in Burnaby that goes to Steve Nash Brentwood, they had to close down as there have been possible cases at that gym for COVID-19. They have decided to close to complete some "deep cleaning" and apparently plan to reopen later this week, which is frankly nuts on their part.

I guess anyway to avoid closure and having to give money back to patrons who are paying a monthly rate to the gym itself?

Because people will probably freak out and not react well to such a drastic change?

Personally I am flexible as long as I can hoon around in my car with gas stations open.

I was at Willingdon Costco an hour ago. There was a long line up to get in. It was to control the amount of shoppers in the building. I got in right away, because I was there to pick up my meds from the pharmacy. I was supposed to be escorted to the pharmacy, but they said I could go alone. It was my grandfatherly trusting look. Anyway, there was a line up at the pharmacy, too, lol. It was quick, though. An hour previous to that I was a the downtown location. No line up. I parqed at Parq Casino to charge. Decided to go check out Costco. Man, that place is huge. At least it looks huge.

I know, I grew up with camper camping. It's great.

I borrowed my boss' Hobby trailer (A german brand that was imported) last year. Was great until a wheel bearing blew out on me on the drive home just south of Campbell river. Had to leave it behind at shop there for 3 months while sourcing and shipping parts (New bearings, brake hardware, drums) from Germany.

Lesson learned, I'll never buy imported stuff. If it was North American I could have bought parts anywhere and fixed it on the side of the road myself.
