Instead of making the dumbest comparison possible (? Gun deaths?? LOL) How are the viruses so different?

I don't want to downplay and say meh the virus is nothing but to me whether there are any confirmed cases here locally or not doesn't really change anything. I'm still going to practice good hygiene, wash my hands etc. It isn't going to make me leave the house any less or if I do walk around in a hazmat suit.

If you put rats in an environment, with unlimited food, an interesting thing happens. They will breed and reproduce like normal. Their population will explode. Then, suddenly, a mysterious illness will come through and kill the large majority of them. Population will reset and begin again. This will happen over and over.

Humans also go through this. Bubonic Plague, Ebola, Aids, are all (in my non scientific opinion) natures way of trying to "cure" over population of humans. We have found ways to fight off these attempts at natures population control. Ever notice how all the terrible plagues tend to start in the most over populated parts of the planet?
