Another dog tested positive in Hong Kong. This time "repeatedly positive" rather than "weak positive" (that 17 year old pom died 3 days after it went back home BTW)

Interesting how other countries don't have enough tests for people, and in HK they're testing dogs :considered:

I don't know what the actual testing rate is, but I have at least 3 friends (living in different cities) that have symptoms. All have called in and been told to just isolate themselves unless their symptoms get bad.

DW GUYS TOP DR IN BC SAID STILL LOW RISK.

"B.C.'s top doctor, Dr. Bonnie Henry, said the risk of contracting coronavirus in B.C. communities remains low."

I am starting to question her credentials... State of emergency in BC but still low risk.. I really wonder what does she think "our" best interest is..

Just be glad you live in Canada, as dumb as they seem at least they're not literally evil.

Would be helpful to some if credit card companies can waive interest fees for 1-3 months ... or maybe government can pass an edict regarding this in terms of economic provisions.

What else is she suppose to say? People are already in fear and in semi panic mode (Hint looking at all the supplied that's currently out of stock in supermarket). If she adds in saying the risk is medium or anything other than low risk people are going to start rubbing stores, beating others up (possibly more racist behaviours towards the Asian community) than they already do. Literally there isn't a choice for her to say the truth.

Both are price gouging, my relatives masks in their clinics are on low supply, and they're finding it difficult to source immediate resupply because of these pricks. Thankfully these medical/industrial supply companies have limited sales to existing corporate customers now

My cousin, who's a dentist, had to buy from price gouges on ebay, because he's staying open for emergency patients, but doesn't have any n95/99 maska

What was the regular price? Also, you also can't compare the price of a big box store than the a small store.

Typically $30ish depending on the style, could be much cheaper

Because reminding people that it is low risk is a great way to flatten the curve so that ppl wont take it seriously

Don't you think she PROBABLY has some information that you either don't have or don't understand? Like she didn't get that job by posting up on monster.ca and just get lucky.

Not a conspiracy type but I can't help but wonder if this whole virus was purposely released as a way to ruin and reset the global economies at the expense of the middle / working / lower classes. An 'Order 66' of sorts.

The rich already have control over everything, but most of them got that way by being greedy, soulless assholes anyways so...

IMO if anyone comes out of this better, it will be the poor people. Maybe America will open their eyes. Things were set up great for the billionaires, there was no need for them to reset.

Well, relative to the population of BC and even the lower mainland VS amount of infected, I’d say based on numbers alone, yes, the risk of infection is probably still quite low.

All the more reason to take the recommendations seriously now and isolate ourselves. The more people that isolate, the slower the spread, which will inevitably lead to zero new cases and a decline in active ones.

Its like we're all smokers, and we've all been told that if we stop smoking for two weeks, people will stop getting cancer, yet people are still smoking like cancer isn't real, or like it just won't happen to them.

The combination of the private health care system and total greed in the US has been a ticking time bomb for years.

^ Some of us probably have it already ... and we don't know. Be insightful to hear from someone who tested +'ve and is willing to share their story. I realize everyone's experience of having it will be different but still ... someone on RS must have it by now.

This is a "lake" in Mongolia about 6 miles in diameter. It's been produced entirely of the toxic sludge created by rare earth mining to produce our cell phones, tv's and computers.

This is just one example, of course.
given our population growth and rapid industrial progress, a naturally occurring pandemic is a far more plausible explanation.
