There's a lot more people dying than China is letting on. They just aren't being counted.
Most projections put their numbers between 5-10% of actual figures. So multiply whatever they say by 20, and you have an idea of what really happened.
This bit of info came out, they're going to have to fuck with the numbers in the future: |

Would their accounts really get cancelled that fast though? Idk what it's like over there but if it's an auto-cc charge I'd expect the accounts to keep going for a bit after people die. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of those are cancellations by people stuck in their homes. Why pay for a phone plan if you're at home with wifi and can just use web base services?

Most people massively over spec their phone plans to begin with. Very few people I know have ever actually checked their usage to see if they're overpaying or not.

While we all know there are more deaths than reported by the Chinese government, we shouldn't jump to conclusions that the main reason for China Mobile's loss of subscribers are deaths.
8 million seems like a lot to us, but it's half a percent of the Chinese population. Think about how many Chinese were impacted by this. I bet a lot of these were previous subscribers were users that cancelled due to the recession, whether work related or to cut personal expenses.

some food for thought if you calculate the current stats
China: 81,008 cases, 3255 deaths, mortality rate 4.01%
Italy: 47,201 cases, 4032 deaths, mortality rate 8.54%
it doesn't take a genius to figure out China is lying about their stats. Italy's rate has been hovering between 8-9% this past week that I've had time to monitor.

Especially if you look at sheer population (Italy 60mil versus China 1350mil) something tells me there’s no way Italy has more deaths

8 million people "changing their phone plans" (btw for those stuck at home, many use mobile for home, and in fact China Mobile offered 5GB of free data to their customers this month) is not something to ignore. Could it be explained another way? Possibly. I'm not jumping to conclusions, just looking at facts out there.
But "0.5% of the population" seriously? That is irrelevant. It's not like they're the only carrier. The question is, where did these 8 million go? Why did China Mobile have a month to month drop in subscribers for the first time in 25 years? Did the 2 other carriers gain 8 million subscribers?
In fact, the numbers CCP puts out is absolutely bullshit. We can't prove it, but we know it to be a fact. That is not something I would say about many things, but it couldn't be more obvious here.
We know that the CCP cares about one thing more than anything else: Saving face. Not being blamed for shortcomings. Looking like they are better than everyone else, and all other countries should be thankful (they literally said this last part BTW). We know that they will go to the ends of the earth in order to save face. Everything from fake footage of Italian people singing the China national anthem and thanking China, to pretending there are healthy people in Wuhan and Xi going there to shake their hands (in reality, these were all actors brought in for the show).
And yes, it also includes not reporting millions of deaths. It may even involve committing some. They have crematoriums running 24/7 to deal with the bodies that are piling up. Does 3000 people create that much of a backlog?
We'll eventually see more evidence that can't be hidden, once satellite footage starts leaking. We've already seen some astonishing footage of what they did to Uighur land, just using google maps of all things.
I don't want to be the "crazy conspiracy guy" though, so I'll just leave it at that for now, unless someone REALLY wants to argue.

Watch for China's numbers to "miraculously" soar when they want that second lockdown.

Hong Kong is getting hit hard again, two breakouts occurred in Lan Kwai Fong and Discovery Bay. Carrie Lam just had a presser now, and says 80-90 percent of recent cases are linked to travel or close contact with someone who has travelled. Says the situation is “dire.”
Starting Monday, Hong Kong will shut down parks and playgrounds again. Reverting back to work from home measures. Government services being pulled back. Homes for the elderly getting a new influx of masks. Spot checks of home quarantine being increased.
4 people tried to break quarantine and will be and will be prosecuted.

But on the flipside, Italy has more seniors than China, if someone wants to do the math

I think you mean to say Italy has a higher percentage of senior population relative to total population than China.
China most certainly has more seniors than Italy

at the time of the initial outbreak in china, my friends who worked in the front line as doctors and nurses estimated the actual death vs official numbers were about 10 fold. The official numbers didn't include those who died at home because they were turned away at the hospitals due to lack of space. Also on certain days where reports would be like 16 dead, they saw at least half that death at just her own hospital. Count in the numbers of hospitals in Wuhan at the time, no way the total number would be 16.

I'm going to guess that lots of people (especially the elderly) die in China every single day of various reasons. How are you going to confirm if it was or was not Covid19? You going to do a test on the deceased ... every deceased?
Not pro CCP or anti CCP, just one factor to consider in terms of true stats and practicality.

Not pro CCP or anti CCP, just one factor to consider in terms of true stats and practicality. | The natural death rate will have been pretty steady month-to-month for the last few years. If there's a sudden spike of, say, 13-15 million, that would stand out quite easily.

Still thinking if I should start wearing mask when I go grocery shopping. Seeing more and more people using them and some of then is non Asian as well. Some reports says facial mask doesn't protect you from getting infected while others say they do.
Spoke to a co worker and she mention wearing facial mask is no longer an Asian thing now coz places like Italy and Spain Germany are also using them.

you're probably better off wearing gloves and making sure to wash your hands up well afterwards. Most of the time, people are avoiding coughing and sneezing in front of people, but when the coast is clear, they will just cough/sneeze all over the produce.

If you have a mask, 100% wear it. For all you know you could be a carrier. It’s not just to help prevent getting infected, but spreading it.
Also PSA if you have gloves on, still don’t touch your faces and stuff dumbasses. Might As well use bare hands lol

Things are about to get worse. Around the world.
Covid is starting to get around in India. If reporting is done honestly they would peak China and Italy in cases and deaths. With huge population, they don't have means of getting people to isolate like China. Plus more densely populated.
60% of worlds generic meds or raw materials come from India. So this will have impact on pharmaceutical companies around the world.
Europe will peak in a week or two.

Whenever I’m wearing gloves it’s not so much to prevent bacteria etc. It’s to remind myself not to touch my face

Like some one else had said some people might have cancelled their lines because they aren't working. Other factors include some one who died that may have multiple lines. Businesses going under and cancelling.
But then.... even considering all those factors, would it be wrong for it to have been 3-4million dead out of 8 million subs cancelled? We all know the numbers are fudged, just how fudged?
