My wife has been dealing with complications the last few years. She's scheduled for a hysterectomy in April. I doubt it's gonna happen. Which is fine by comparison.
She'll live.
But I'm sure there are members on this site,and many Canadians in general, with family who deal with critical health problems.
When our ICU's become so overwhelmed, and they're treating patients in hallways, with personnel and equipment stretched beyond their limits, I'm not so sure about what'll happen to them.
So yea, I'm not too concerned about replying to some forum troll atm.
Most hospitals are already over capacity. Have a stroll through surrey memorial and you'll see beds all over with 4 to 6 hour waits to get in.
You guys will call me crazy. With the world planning for a one-world government and depopulation. I am starting to believe this redhead.

Someone was mentioning that they assumed airport screening must be more thorough than the border crossing (can't find the post).
Guess again.
I like when the reporter asks the woman coming back across the border if she plans on self isolating for 14 days as instructed and she responds with laughter.
At Vancouver International Airport, passengers arriving from overseas Friday told CTV News they didn’t notice any additional screening while passing through Canada Customs.
“Yeah, there is nothing happening in the airport. It’s insane. All other airports have been really spot on. This airport? Nothing happening,” said traveller Emma Logan. “And yet the media is telling everybody that they need to be careful and there’s nothing actually happening in the airport.”

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and the Canada Border Services Agency have not explained why travellers who arrived Saturday were not asked to self isolate, or why they had to wait for up to an hour in the Customs line at Pearson to be processed.
By Sunday morning, some travellers were receiving pamphlets with instructions. The pamphlet advises: “You are also asked to limit your contact with others for 14 days starting the day you began your journey to Canada.”
The pamphlet instructs travellers to contact “the public health agency in the province or territory where you live within 24 hours of arriving in Canada (see back of sheet).”
The back of the sheet is blank.

by the time the pamphlet is printed it's already outdated
2020 is one for the books, this is 9/11 on the global scale for the new generation: kids will read about it in textbooks, case studies in business school etc
^ could help those who aren’t elderly or have pre-existing medical conditions stay a bit more calm and help avoid sudden chaos.
If every demographic was in survival mode, society would be a lot worse than it is now.
It’s still horrible that people are dying, don’t get me wrong. But any factual data that could help influence less panic is a good thing IMO.
I disagree, everyone needs to be in survival mode right now. And calm. Also it doesn't matter how old YOU are, we have to think as a community. As a community, we have young people and old people. We should strive to protect everyone in our community.
NOT panic mode mind you, but absolutely survival mode. You should NOT be "living your life" like normal. Things you are doing should feel surreal and unfamiliar. Because this situation is.
I suspect the city you're in will be shut down once the numbers climb enough. That seems to be the only effective way to slow it down...

I sense the government is gonna lay down the hammer and shut everything down this week. They've been warning everyone to come home.
I hope you all have an emergency fund and contingency plans in place to weather this out. Not trying to incite fear but this is the real deal now.
I think we need to start talking about UBI again
I mean it was always something worth discussing, but people are finally realizing hey, we can get fucked over with no control, and not everyone is rich enough to "save for a rainy day"
Maybe people will start to realize, all these people they rely on every single day are actually quite poor. Maybe the system is unfair and we should help each other out, and they're not just "being lazy"
