They're not going around ticketing people, it's just there in case they come across a party or something, and need a bylaw to reference when breaking it up.

They will fine businesses that are putting together social gatherings though, for sure. Higher than $1000 too. Also assholes like this (in USA)

Heard there was a gym in Chillwack that has remained secretly open and are drawing people from all over lower Mainland. Not entirely sure which one but it seems like they're getting away with it. I hope they get exposed and fined.

Has anyone been successful to get a full refund back to your credit card? The future credit is pretty BS because it’s one-time use and any remaining funds will be forfeited according to Air Canada.

Call your Credit Card for a chargeback.

this was on the news on Global today.
Legally, they do NOT have to give you a refund due to unforeseen circumstance (not Air Canada / WestJ / Transit) but Aviation policy.

They gave people 2 yr credit to use. A lot of people are trying to sue, but ..... maybe global pressure will cause they to do so but legally, they don't have to.

Air Canada actually wrote (summarizing), "legally we are not obligated to provide a full refund, and we feel a 2 yr credits is more than lenient / fair" when they responded to an email.

We'll see, maybe Global TV's new will give them pressure to refund.

As CB said below, call your CC and have them issue a chargeback. Send them an email/leave them a voicemail and tell them you're giving formal notice for cancellation.

Any company that tries to screw over their customers during a time like this deserve to fuck off.

This site references previous court decisions. Do you have a link that cites Air Canada’s statement that they believe they don’t have a legal requirement to refund?

good luck everyone is trying to do the same. I would check Facebook marketplace and craigslist and buy asap. You might also have to get creative and use whatever you have laying around.

Welp, my workplace is abandoning keeping clients to a minimum in order to keep the dealership open and people paid. Bookings are going to up from here, and now I feel even more uneasy about going to work since clients keep breaking countermeasures we set up.

Social distancing is now pointless to me if I'm just going to constantly risk exposure because people can't wait out a pandemic. I don't care about making money if my mental health is going to suffer for it.

Would people actually drive all the way to Chilliwack to go to a gym from the GVRD?

Damn, that's dedication.

I went to Save Ons Langley at 11:00AM, and it wasn't too busy. Other than old people that DFAG, social distancing was being practiced. BCL wasn't too busy either, and I stocked up on a lot of liquor.

I'd been "social distancing" our groceries for a few weeks now and I realized I made an error in packing the groceries at the store a few weeks ago that bit me now. I put the rice cakes in the same bag as the dryer sheets and then left the bags in an unused room when I got home. Those things managed to penetrate 2 layers of plastic and now my rice cakes taste like Outdoor Fresh instead of white cheddar.

I'm eating them anyways since I don't want to waste food but even chasing them with really strong iced tea doesn't get the taste out of my mouth.
