Those things managed to penetrate 2 layers of plastic and now my rice cakes taste like Outdoor Fresh instead of white cheddar.

I'm eating them anyways since I don't want to waste food but even chasing them with really strong iced tea doesn't get the taste out of my mouth.

Would you lick dryer sheets? I'm guessing it's doing the same thing. lol.

Went out to eat for the first time in 2 weeks, had a bowl of ngau tsap mein, or beef innard noodles and an ice milk tea.

God damn it was so salty and full of MSG! Not used to that any more! EleGiggle Tasted pretty good though, I've mostly been eating the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch for 2 weeks.

Had to take temperature to get in, the provide hand sanitizer, and they were following the rule with half capacity. SeemsGood

Damn, that's dedication.

There's a gym in Richmond that's still open as well. My friend is still going to that gym, don't ask me why. By law officers came into the gym the other day but my friend said that the gym is still open, WTF?

Costco downtown. The lineup snaked down to p1 to get Thursday 1pm.

I made a b-line outta there. How long does it usually take to get in?

Jmac 04-02-2020 05:07 PM

Day 1 working from home, teleconferences most of the day.

Hondaracer 04-02-2020 05:14 PM

Dunno why anyone would waste their time with lines like that at Costco

If you drive to smaller places there’s no lineup to get in, no lineup to pay, etc.

I’m the biggest Costco guy going but I’ll pay a bit more to not have to deal with that shit.

At around 7 pm last night downtown Costco. No lineups. Found parking on street. Free!

This site references previous court decisions. Do you have a link that cites Air Canada’s statement that they believe they don’t have a legal requirement to refund?

I wasn't able to dig up rules & regulations specifically (for canada) but official statement:

The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) had said on its website airlines don't have to give refunds if the cancellation was outside it's control, but the advocacy group Air Passenger Rights sent the agency a letter saying that it “creates the false impression of a legally binding determination by the CTA, and misleads consumers about their rights.”

Air Transat's vice-president of human resources and corporate affairs, Christophe Hennebelle, said the situation "has placed an extraordinary burden on the industry, which puts its very existence into question."

"that in such a force majeure situation, way beyond our span of control, we do not have to issue a full refund for travels that have not been completed."

He called the 24-month credit voucher "an acceptable solution," saying Italy, Belgium, France and the U.K. have passed legislation to "secure that solution."

I FEEL for people... I do also understand Cdn gov't will try to protect the airlines who are already shutting down and scrambling for cash flow..

SkinnyPupp 04-02-2020 06:54 PM

Are people complaining about getting a 2 year voucher? Be thankful you're not in a country that will give you NOTHING if your flight was canceled due to this.

JAL offered 2 week vouchers at first, and now they are giving nothing. This may change, but that's their policy and they'll stick to it unless forced otherwise.

You're not old and Asian.

Why would they pay a premium to save time? All these people have is time. They would rather wait in like for 30mins to save $15 than go somewhere else with no line. I respect that hustle. Why pay a premium when you don't have to.

I wouldn't do it, but kudos to them.

Euro7r 04-02-2020 08:56 PM

^I rather pay a bit extra to avoid crowds/lineups. Go in and grab what I need and get the fuck out ASAP. Sure you may save a bit here and there going to Costco but not worth to put my life/health on the line right now. What is the extra buck or two going to do for me right now during Covid.

twitchyzero 04-02-2020 09:07 PM

glove/mask/goggles on to line up once every 10-14 days is fine because people have more time than money these days

Manic! 04-02-2020 09:33 PM

Costco only allows 50 in at a time. Walmart has no limit Been to both Costo seems safer to me. If I see a long line up at Costco I just wait in the truck until they allow 50 in. I also make sure there is plenty of distance in front and behind me when I line up.

Ch28 04-02-2020 09:54 PM

Costco also updated its policy where only two people can enter on a membership now.

https://www.costco.ca/coronavirus-response.html

Updated Guest Shopping Policy

Effective Friday, April 3, Costco will allow no more than two people to enter the warehouse with each membership card. This temporary change is for your safety and the safety of our employees and other members, and to further assist with our social distancing efforts. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Costco............

Worse time to go is during seniors hour. The most vulnerable people gather and line up for miles. On top of that, the general population is there early to line up. Mornings are a gong show.

Best time to go is after 7:00 PM. Most of the time, no lineups.

I went to Shoppers today in the afternoon. It's seniors day today. The whole social distancing thing is affecting a lot of people in a negative way. This one caucasian cougar in her 50s? Starts yelling at this asian couple coming out of the store for being slow. Asian woman says to the cougar to be kind. "Nobody has time for this, just get out of the way," yells the cougar. She then proceeds into the store in a straight-arm pose like a football player. It was hilarious. Others were just as grumpy and downright miserable. I find that for the most part, men are cool about it, but older women. Wow!

MG1, I think only you have the prescription to get this cougar out of this heated situation. :ifyouknow:

Any company that tries to screw over their customers during a time like this deserve to fuck off.

Haha check this:

https://www.platinumathleticclub.com/perks/

So apparently there was a pre planned "rate increase" prior to the pandemic

And if anyone cancels now, and they come back they'll be subject to the new rate.

They're screwing everyone.

twitchyzero 04-03-2020 12:49 PM

note to self: don’t go to a surrey gym too cheap to even pay for an email domain

Liquid_o2 04-03-2020 01:49 PM

My mother-in-law went to Costco during seniors hour yesterday. Got us everything we needed as well. Picked it up last night and Lysol-wiped it all down. Just need to get some produce and we are set for another couple of weeks.

We are absolutely stocked on everything. Need to start making our way though our pantry and freezer.

My only splurge on a more regular basis is fresh bread from the local bakeries...

Just finishing week 3 of working from home. Getting into the groove of it now. Still finding it hard to get out of bed though knowing I don't have to rush off anywhere. :lol

Try making bread at home. It's relatively easy if you look up a no-knead recipe. It's not like you have much to do on the weekends anyways :lol

Hondaracer 04-03-2020 03:38 PM

I’ve been dabbling in sour dough, it’s tough
