This.... you have to realize not everyone is in our "age group", you have to consider staff members like my parents are are in their late 50's and early 60's... to the company managers, zoom might be the ONLY option to work remotely

Zoom is undeniably better than Skype for most users.

My previous company used GotoMeeting, and my god was that ever a shit show every time we'd hold meetings.

Zoom has been a breeze, and as said by others, it's extremely user friendly, hence the reliance.

GoToMeeting is the biggest piece of shit ever. I would deny meetings if they were held over GoToMeeting. Fucking garbage.

WebEx is quite good in my experience. We now use Google Hangouts and it’s hit or miss in terms of audio quality. Wish we still used WebEx.

Set up a room for exercising (which is pretty sparse; stationary bike, mat, free weights).

Feeling out of shape (Well, moreso than usual) not getting my usual ~7 km of walking with a bunch of stairs a day at work. Even when I’m at work, they want us to limit travel as much as possible, so that’s way down.

Only issue is that it's owned / done by Cisco, so a lot of the companies who are Cisco haters won't use it and IBM, DELL, HP, LENOVO etc.. all these shy away.

Their messenger and add ons are expensive also....

Webex is trash, and deserves to go down in flames. In the years we've been stuck with it, there have been no significant updates to bring it to modern times. Every time they did release an update, it was usually a UI update that confused the hell out of everyone.

We've been getting Vancouver weather lately. Seriously I wouldn't doubt it if it was colder at my place than you guys. I'm at altitude, so it was about 14-15 yesterday and pouring rain. I don't remember the last time I had to wear a jacket in April.

Not complaining though, I'll be wishing for this in August

Makes it tough to get those rooftop workouts done though, since there's no room inside, I need at least decent weather.

Pretty thankful that the kitchen island chairs I got are hella comfy. Been sitting in em for 8-10 hrs a day to work and haven't had any complaints so far. It's far from the comfort of the office chair I had but it isn't uncomfortable in any way!

Use a Herman Miller at home, invested in it a couple years ago and well worth it.

I have a Steelcase Leap v2 at home, and some Haworth chairs at work.

I find the Steelcase Leap to be the best compromise between comfort and value - they are generally cheaper than Herman Millers, and last longer since they're not mesh, and use durable fabric instead. They are very supportive and adjustable, and very good ergonomically. I can do long gaming sessions or work sessions now I guess, and not feel sore/tired afterwards.

Buy them used! Saves you a lot of money in the long run.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but buying used furniture probably isn't the smartest thing to do right now given the pandemic we're in.

Is that link for a reputable dealer or just some random link? Been looking for a refurnished Leap but could never quite get myself to go there since I don't know of anyone who's bought from them.

Make sure you guys are starting your vehicles once in a while to make sure the battery is still good. Learned the hardest that my old battery was dead and not holding a decent charge anymore

buy a trickle charger.

Even if you do start it up, gotta be driving for at least 30 minutes or so to charge it up I think

The Toyotas & my bike fired right up, my Jeep spazzed out and didn't even try to crank after 2 weeks. At least I have time to dig around and find the parasitic draw now I suppose.

I have a steamer, and I feel that if I sanitize the chair properly (and of course, wear PPE when meeting the person) it should be ok. Worse comes to worse you can leave the chair alone for 3-4 days so that the virus dies if it is contained on a surface.
