I'm a homebody to the max.
If I was stuck at home, it would be great. lol.

But I am still being forced to work in the office. The IT haven't fully figured out how to set everyone up to work from home yet... Maybe next week.

Anyway, I'm trying to do my part, just from home to work to home. And one trip to the gas station and I lysol wiped the pump and PIN keypad, and my hands after.

Hoping I can work from home soon. I work at a hospital and it’s stressful as fuck.

We churned out laptops /w VPN and LCDs to desktop users. This allowed them to Remote Desktop to their office computer. So, all their files and other settings didn't change. It was important to only alter work flow, a bit. Laptop users were used to working remotely, and they just got an LCD. There's a few kinks to work out, but the problems that people experienced on the first morning were minimal.

Without urgent deadlines, I don't have the "locked in mode" to work hard when working at home. Day 4 working from home, just casually cruising along, work a bit/do some personal things a bit and repeat until end of the working day.

punkwax 03-19-2020 07:36 PM

I get so much more done working from home all day..

Hondaracer 03-19-2020 07:52 PM

If anyone has issues with their Tv or internet (legitamite issues like complete outage) and you’re with TELUS, let me know. I may be able to help out if you can’t get an appointment etc. Only applies to RS members though please don’t forward me your aunts info lol

I'm a homebody, being stuck at home is just fine for me, some friends can't stand it, they're already losing their minds, and feeling depressed, facetime helps

I can still go to the gym but would prefer not to, I've got a bike, and weights at home, plus I'm following these two vids

tegra7 03-19-2020 09:29 PM

Those of you who can work from home are fortunate. I have to go back to work tomorrow but I'll be wearing a mask and gloves.

68style 03-20-2020 12:10 AM

Fuck they just closed the gym at my condo building tonight... that was my only therapy left in all of this.

I’m working from home but never have before and the laptop they gave me isn’t properly set up... it’s pretty shit... and wife is also working from home, we are definitely not accustomed to spending 24/7 together and after only 4 days shits starting to go sideways being practically on top of each other in a 1 bedroom apartment.

Le sigh.

!Aznboi128 03-20-2020 05:43 AM

Must agree, pretty lucky to be working from home. Rather be working remotely than getting laid off.

I can totally relate...Murder is a possibility at this point.

It’s the ultimate test for relationships right now.

Went to Iona beach for a ride and it was packed !!! Social distancing my ass. Kids on the beach, people just chilling out next to each other, sitting in their cars or on top of their roofs. I’m still certain nobody is taking this shit seriously.

Wife's working from home, I still have to come I to work cause my role is deemed "critical". Just a skeleton crew here only 4 people.

BUT we're all isolated in our offices, no one is allowed into our offices and contact by phone, and email only.

I kind of like it, no management on site it's quiet and peaceful.

That actually sounds amazing. Would much rather work in isolation in the office than at home.

But yes, those of us who can operate fully from home and still have a full paying job are very lucky and I am grateful.

EndLeSS8 03-20-2020 08:40 AM

I WISH I could work from home.

I'm am an essential service, and I work with the public. Government, non-medical related

I have gone to my supervisor about safety concerns, but GG

My union peaced out on Wednesday, they all went to work from home since then.

FML.

So who has stocked up on additional guns and ammo? Shits selling out fast lol

Wife even said go buy some more ammo and followed up with bet you'd never ever thought you'd hear me say that. I followed her instructions and loaded up on some slugs.

Ammo prices are rising dramatically. US is buying up all the supply and our dollar is tanking... :(

The last place I worked at, we just had to install this app on our own personal PC at home and then we could work remotely and connect to the work server.

I think my currently place is expecting those that work at home to literally take our entire workstation home. Not sure if that's the most efficient way or why one method is done over another. I'm not an IT expert though.

No doubt, I'm kind of glad the wife's job is essential so she'll be going in no matter what. It's bad enough I have to listen to my 13 year old all day, him and I are 100% getting on each others nerves.

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2020 03:26 PM

Makes me appreciate my marriage even more then... We are both a couple of hermits and live together in a small place. We literally never argue, mostly because she's probably the one person on this planet who can put up with me LUL

Teriyaki 03-20-2020 03:30 PM

Invest in noise-cancelling headphones.
If you are at home with partner, set boundaries on your time. Like, "I'm working 9-12pm, lunch around 12", and you respect each others space during that time.

Worked for me, and my place in Japan is like a shoebox. Like a ladies size 4 shoebox.

hi-revs 03-20-2020 03:32 PM

First quarter of 2021 will see a high birth rate as well as high divorce rate, if we all gotta work from home much longer

Mikoyan 03-20-2020 04:59 PM

FYI, with everyone physically distant, working from home or calling banks, EI and other government numbers, the phone system is getting congested at times. It's across all carriers
