Honestly I’m probably more likely to die from caffeine deficient migraines than corona

Support local/Canadian shops! Some are offering local delivery for free.

Lol the day we were expecting the borders to
Close the only panic run I made was to JJ Bean to stock up. A 3/4 pound bag lasts just me a week. I did a few of those and now just bought a Costco pack. Lifes getting hard when you have to make sacrifices like that.

Anyone able to get through to service canada on the phone? Anyone have any other numbers to call other than what's listed on the website?

Thanks.

I always buy locally either Moja or Milano, this coffee shop is just around the corner from us though so much easier just to go there and snag this

Where is this shop? I know a lot of coffee shops are now closed.

Hondaracer 03-25-2020 10:31 AM

Platform 7, Hastings and nanaimo. This was a couple days ago

I know Moja is doing a window for selling beans at their north van location, or at least we’re a couple days ago

Expresso 03-25-2020 10:46 AM

Platform 7 is one of the few shops still staying open for take away I believe.

cafe22 03-25-2020 11:29 AM

Single V (Burnaby) and Matchstick (Vancouver) are also open for take out only.

I ordered about 5lbs total and milk from various local cafes on Monday. A lot of them have a surplus in milk and perishable produce.

Sipping on a machiatto right now using Moving Coffee Opera beans.

I was going to say! I don't know about Vancouver but we have some AMAZING coffee subscription services in Hong Kong. I can imagine Van has some really good ones as well, it's good to know.

No reason to get big corporate coffee (unless of course you've tried many others, and like it the best)

In East Van alone you can walk to about 6 different roasters in about 40 minutes or so

Stumptown is superior to most of them though imo. But yea, generally I support local just couldn’t be sure as to who was open etc.

whitev70r 03-25-2020 04:27 PM

I think cable companies must be rolling through areas and turning down the speed of cable to even out bandwidth demand. Around 5:00 pm, my connection is like 33.6K dial up days.

Argo & Moving Coffee are vastly superior to Stumptown.

Ehhhhh I don’t like Argo. All their blends are way too acidic for me

Haven’t had moving

I'm seriously thinking about getting Shaw to put me on a business plan for home. Had some serious slowdowns and skype audio issues with the kid streaming netflix to keep himself occupied, the wife using autocad web for her work.

Totally forgot about that, thanks!

I work at a smaller firm and I still have to go to work everyday. The boss seems to be pretty reluctant to allow the staff to work from home. Partially cause they don't really have the infrastructure set up to easily do so for everyone. But we don't have a lot of staff in the first place, so we are all spread out in our own offices. So health wise, I feel relatively safe. I drive, so I don't have to worry about taking transit. My manager doesn't give AF though. He just took off and has been working from home for the past 2 weeks, lol.

Work is starting to slow down a lot though. A couple guys got laid off last week and several were told to use their vacation time this week, just cause there wasn't enough work to go around.

That being said, I actually started applying to places earlier this year and I finally got an offer. I will probably take it since it's a better opportunity. It's a strange time to be switching jobs now, but at the very least, it's probably best to do it now if I want to soften the blow since it's not like my current place has a lot of work going around...

SkinnyPupp 03-26-2020 06:05 AM

My gym finally closed down. I stopped going over a week ago, I knew it was just a matter of time before a customer tested positive. They had someone test positive at a different location from the ones I go to.

Working out on the rooftop using power bands is an adjustment, but you can actually get a pretty decent workout. The weather has been great so far so I've been lucky!

If anyone wants to talk about workout out at home, whether it's with bands or anything else, head to the official workout thread 2.0! I posted some good videos there recently for people in this situation.

I can't stop working out, I'd go insane if I did. Like legit severe depression, etc.

please please please for whatever reason you're in, ensure you negotiate your package of the new company before you join.

Last you want is to be hired by new company, on 3 mth probation with no benefits to be let go after 3 months.

mikemhg 03-26-2020 09:34 AM

Steve Nash closes down and fired all of their employees. Looking like the company is finished.
