| Good Polisher/Buffer
Hey guys, I am looking for a good polisher/buffer. My old orbital finally died.
I have reading up on the Torque polishers but so many options.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm using one of those harbor freight/ eBay 6" da polishers right now. It's the first time using a machine to polish for me. I did a bit of research on YouTube and they work fine for beginner's. I've so far polished two cars with it and I have no complaints. Should be good enough for the hobbiest who does it maybe once or twice a year without breaking the bank. I did pay extra for some decent quality lake country pads though.

I don't think that you can go wrong with the porter cable 7424. It's pretty well regarded everywhere I read, I bought one about 3 years ago and no complaints.

I've been happy with my Griots. Super simple and straight forward to use for a hobbyist.

I used a Porter Cable 7424 bi-annually for about seven years until it died. Picked up a Griot's but haven't used it yet.

I got the Porter Cable 7424 as well. Good solid unit.
FWIW, I'm not using it anymore and it's has maybe 20 hours of use on it - if you're interested in buying it DM me.

+1 on Porter Cable 7424. Good all around unit. Had mine for over a long time and it is still going strong.

No complaints with my Simonize - Canadian Tire
I have two of them, one that's good for beginners (random/orbital 8" polisher) and one that's a more intense like a porter cable.

Bought Simioniz DA polisher from Canadian tire. died after 1hr of use. Returned right away.
Decided to get a Griot G9, way lighter and doesn't vibrate as much as the Simionz. Great ergo as well. Did 2 cars, no issues.

The above link seems to be a good deal. I personally would prefer a cordless unit.

The same kit is $207 on Amazon.ca Reading up on it, not sure if I should go for the 10FX, but I think the only difference is the digital speed setting.
