You can order a Sport 2.0 with the Heated Steering wheel. I was considering that spec before I got my Touring 2.0. I knew I didn't want 6MT for a daily, even though fun factor and performance would be there. Aside from all the features of the touring, the sport seats felt really cheap to me, the cloth seems like everything would get snagged on it and ball up quick. Torque on this engine is FUN. A little slower than the V6 on initial, but then it pulls and keeps going. 6MT dynos seem to post higher numbers than 10AT, and premium gas is another few HP. You can't base your opinion of a car on the words of others. Go try it for yourself, really. |
I've owned my Sport 2.0T 6spd for a year now. Some thoughts: I love the engine. Plenty fast for me when I want to let loose. The shifter is definitely not as sporty as other Hondas I've owned. Don't get me wrong it's still good, but I want something sportier. I plan on upgrading with Acuity shifter parts. I love the interior. Just enough creature comforts for me as a daily driver. Any more and I'd feel like I'd be paying for features I don't value. The screen is great - it has Honda's updated interface with Android Auto. I have a volume knob! I do think Honda overachieved with the design and finish of the centre console area. Tons of room in the backseats. I have 2 car seats in the back. My commute is 90% highway. I average around 8.3L/100km. I can easily do better if I really want to. The sound system is very meh. But I mostly listen to podcasts and the news. Not blasting EDM like I was 10 years ago. My car is a 2018 model, so first year of this current generation. One year and 19k kms later, and my only issue was condensation in a taillight housing. What I valued was a sedan with space in the trunk and back, something sporty with 6spd, and a nice modern interior. And of course reliability, fuel economy, price, etc. This car ticks all those boxes for me so I felt compelled to make this my first brand new purchase. I'd be happy to help if you had any more questions. |
Accords are simply sitting compared to the civic and CR-V go drive one, it's the best of the bunch in the class. Camry don't have a stick, mazda hasn't proven itself with the new 6 yet, nissan...well..do they even compete now?? haha I omitted the koreans....even though they are great cars, but you will be stuck with it for a long time, nobody wants them and you will have an insane time reselling it. |
I drove a rental 1.5 with the CVT last summer. I thought it was very good at what it's supposed to do as an all-around family car. I daily drive a Mazda6 with a 6-speed. I am very tempted to get a 2.0t or even a 1.5 with the 6-speed myself as my next car. The Accord will be the last full size sedan with a stick shift - might as well get a piece of automotive history now. |

grand tourers, would be nice family hauler, wont miss the 3rd pedal |
Drove both yesterday, a friends automatic first then the 6 speed. Must say the 10 speed is fucking buttery smooth and quick shifting. If my partner had a drivers license I might have did the auto instead LOL. Anyone looking for a mid size thats a bit of fun and function won't go wrong with the auto although it does bring the price up a bit. However after 10 minutes in the 6 speed... my heart was stolen. Pulled the trigger on a 2.0T Sport 6MT and can't wait for the break in period to finish and take this thing out for an extended drive. Easy action on the clutch and shifter, its no S2K in terms of the precision of the shifting but still for a larger sedan its got quite a short throw and accurate feeling. Turn in is solid, quick but still forgiving for something of the size class, I feel like real summers or some high performance all seasons would really benefit this car. :fuckyea: |
