Hagerty ten 90s car

Quote:
The 1990s are now a grand 20 years in the past, and an incredible swathe of cars is up for historic plates in the next few years. From JDM wonders to kooky Swedes, cars of the ’90s represent the Goldilocks recipe to enthusiasts. They’re new enough to possess the modern technologies that ensured stout reliability and top-tier performance, but old enough to lack electronic nannies that kvetch and whine at us when we attack the twisties. So we decided to put our resident ’90s experts in a livestream for an hour and pick their 10 favorite cars.

A bit of a weird list considering the 993 makes up a lot of Hagerty's revenues haha

I think they decided by genres and tried to mix in various countries and unique setups?

So the RX7 is there cuz its in that 300ZX/Supra/MR2/ITR kind of group but unique because of its engine...

I like the list, something for everyone, Saab 9000 is a very unappreciated car

video in link explains they could choose 20 and it still wouldn't satisfy the readers so they went for breadth: domestic, import, daily, unattainable, etc.

apparently picked boxster over 993 because it saved the brand and was a modern successor to the 550 spyder

Some random selections. I have never seen a Cobra R in person.

Good point.

A lot of 986 Boxsters now qualify to be covered under Hagerty's policy for collector cars. Mine qualified, and it was a $800 savings, but it allowed very little mileage, and absolutely no driving to work, so I passed and stuck with Intact. I think CCA-Dave mentioned a lot of his customers insure through Hagerty and didn't have any kind of restrictions, so perhaps I got the short end of the stick with a broker who has having a bad day, or we were looking at two very different policies altogether.
