2021 Toyota Sienna

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2...nivan-details/

The Sienna will be hybrid only starting in 2021, but the 243-hp powertrain is a version of Toyota's Hybrid System II, which has been around since 2016.:notbad:

No PHEV version = no interest here

The majorly disappointing thing is, Toyota has indicated that this upcoming version of the Sienna is designed with PHEV in mind. I can easily come up with a few different guesses on why no PHEV version is released at the inital launch, but the end result is the same -- disappointing. :(

so.... another 2 to 3 years then.....

Just as excited as the upcoming 26-35 year olds who have to give up their "sporty" cars so that little shit monsters can stain all the seats.

I was excited to see this since the old Sienna is sooooo long in the tooth. And I’m not even in the market for one... yet. Toyota didn’t disappoint with the grille-factor. We need more vans in North America, albeit smaller ones.

The Venza is a pleasant surprise. JDM Harrier? Hell yeah.

These two announcements are more exciting than seeing another special edition 86 or BRZ.

There is a hybrid PHEV Minivan - Chrysler Pacifica. Awarded AJAC best EV in Canada for 2020.

I love the Pacifica, it's actually a really good van. Just some reliability concerns but if you lease one you should be fine.

As for the Sienna, it's a good move from Toyota to make it all hybrid. I'm sure it sell well with the AWD system, it's proven to work well in the Rav4. The only thing is if they'll have stock. If you're in the market for a rav4 hybrid, it's very hard to get and there's a long waitlist.

Sooner or later I'm sure they'll make a prime version similar to the Rav4 and give it more power and better economy.

Yeah a PHEV would have been nice to see for sure. Hopefully in a couple more years we'll see one.
Good to see the Sienna's heading in this direction though.

I think it's pretty cool, I wish the Alphard is here though.

I think the van segment is just gonna die off sooner or later here in NA. We have luxury Trucks and SUVs and people keep buying them. If you spec a F-150 with everything it comes to 90k with some luxury touches and better seats but people won't consider a Van that'll have those items for 40-50k

Yes, this. So many interesting and functional designs we don't get.

Give us the Sienta instead of the C-HR
Give us the Stepwgn instead of the HR-V
