Looks cool, can't wait until the first shots of cracked frame from haters who abused the shit out of it and then said "SEE HOW EASY IT BROKE MY JEEP IS BETTER!!!!"
Nevermind the legions of sleazy ass sales guys taking deposits for dealers selling for twice MSRP as it’s likely to be sold out for the first while
Funny nobody gave a shit about the FJ cruiser it’s entire production run and now they’re gone and prices are insane for a used FJ and this thing comes rolling in like it’s so special 10+ years late to the party lol

Tried buying a beautiful modified FJ last year before settling on the Ford Flex. But for a 10 year old car it was damn near 50k (modified and beautiful). Could not justify that lol
how overpriced can it be if jeep has gone porsche and make LED DRL, proximity keyless and adaptive cruise into options
i cant complain having another choice in the market for an off-roader that can be topless/doors off
latest passport, jimny, defender are all pretty new designs so i dont think this is late to the party if there's a real demand
i dont get the FJ hype tbh
- still based on the prado yet no v8
- bulky on the outside but cramped inside/cant sleep in it
- joke of a blindspot and plastic galore interior from that era of toyotas
- leave the gimmick suicide doors for oddball EV and rotaries
i do like that Hino built it and it comes in some nice colours but if imma pay overlanding tax id rather have a lexus LX

Considering how many people buy Wranglers purely because you can take the roof off (and then they never do because it's a PITA) I imagine these will sell well even if they're crap.

If you compare it to say a defender 90 or two door jeep it doesn't seem that small. It's midway between that and the 4 door or 110. I agree though, it does waste quite a lot of space.
For serious over landing you don't really want a v8. A 4pot diesel with a turbo is perfect. A v8 is going to be a bit heavy on sand, plus you'll get hit hard in some countries that tax you at the boarder based on engine size (for they environment they say...)
I wish LR and Toyota would bring the diesel version of their overlanding trucks here. When your out in the sticks the quality of the fuel can be a bit iffy... and if you need a higher octane then you're really rolling the dice. Doesn't really matter so much in Canada/US though I guess.
