Oh lawd jesus, M3 wagon! Fingers crossed it comes to Canada.
That said it needs to have the following to be truly special.
1. Hopefully it doesnt have that stupid fucking grill
2. 6 speed manual

It says it's getting the current gen (f8x) S55. That either means it's going to be F80 body or the G80 won't be getting the S58.
It would be cool if it was powered by S58.

3? 4????
I would say it's going to be a tough call for it to come to NA. We don't even currently have the G21 in Canada. The enthusiasts aren't speaking with their wallets.

The teaser pic clearly shows the new G80 wagon? I can’t imagine BMW putting in the old S55(which probably doesn’t meet new vehicle EU emissions requirements anymore). I’m pretty sure the last car to use the S55 will be the M2C/CS.
Fingers crossed it lands in NA.

Fingers crossed it lands in NA. | Ah shit you're right. I was skimming and read too fast. It says "BMW confirmed the “six-cylinder M TwinPower turbo engine” up front has been ‘set’ – so it’ll almost certainly be the same 500bhp 3.0-litre turbo unit that’ll see service in the M3 Saloon/M4 Coupe/M4 Convertible"
Key indicator would have been 3.0L. :FailfFish:

No guarantees we won't get it. Audi is bringing the RS6 Avant so who knows. Them not offering the G21 has no bearing on the M3 Touring because it would have to be certified anyways, they can't just borrow the cert for the regular car.
What I do think is going to happen is it'll be single trim, AWD 8AT with minimal options.
Also you can get it in any colour your want as long as you pay. BMW Individual will satisfy that. Just prepared to shell out 100k+ for this car.

Just prepared to shell out 100k+ for this car. | I wasn't really considering certification with my comment, but Audi at least offers an A6 allroad in Canada. BMW on the other hand doesn't think there is even a market in NA for the regular 3 series touring - it's going to be a long shot for them to bring the M3 touring over given the history of their touring sale numbers. I'm not sure how the RS6 Avants are selling but unless BMW sees an upward trend in the competitor's sale numbers, then maybe there would be a better chance of it landing here. Hopefully the market research and surveys they're doing in NA yield pro-touring results though

Hopefully the market research and surveys they're doing in NA yield pro-touring results though | Audi and MB both think there's a market for a large wagon. Honestly don't know what BMW is thinking with the failure to develop the i brand, the ugly grille, and the drop in material quality.
Things point to them not doing it, but we've seen some weird things before. Quote:

If you have the space, you are much better off with a $30k S2k/ND2 and a $60k X3/F150/Taco in terms of fun and practicality, the target market for a car like this is super small. Only after 10-15 yrs would ppl start looking in every barn and under every rock to try and find a brown one with a stick.

Everyone that's looking for a family vehicle will buy an SUV or a crossover not a wagon. That's the sad truth about auto buying patterns in North America. Volvo still offers a few wagons and yet I see more of their SUVs on the roads than their wagons.

I looked into a V60 wagon vs a XC60, and the XC60 is a bit cheaper. For those that don't have a wagon preference, they'd go XC60 every time.

It's the same story with the Mercedes C43 & GLC43 for example. Wagon is a few thousand dollar cheaper when similarly equipped.

Most people won't notice a difference of a few grand on the total price, they're just looking at the monthly payment.

Out of curiosity I configured a XC60 and a V60 to compare and double-check.
Both had the premium and premium plus package, plus Bowers and Wilkins package. R-Design T6 Trim, nothing else selected. Both were white in colour (free colour).
With PDI etc, the XC60 came to $67,915. The V60 came to $64,215. So my fault, sorry, I must have mistakenly confused the two.

It will be 130k if it comes, and it's on the ugliest m3 ever created by far. Panamera sport turismo for me please.

Even then it's lower than the Outback or the Volvo Cross Countries and the original A6 Allroad. It's really just the body cladding (which can be optioned away for $1k) that makes it an Allroad.
