How's it a sleeper if everyone knows it's quick? Besides, I don't want to be associated with that crowd either. Too much smug... lol

Instead, I've owned normal unmodified sleeper sedans that would do 0-60 in 6s or less. Nobody bats an eye at me... I just blend in... lol

so true, my mid 90s japanese sports car does 0-60 in 8 seconds, yet somehow I'm more of a danger than a sub 5-second family sedan. :rukidding:

Car ppl know it's quick. It looks pretty tame otherwise.

Just passed a light camo green hurracan plastered with diamond rally stickers on the back of a flat bed on grandview, seemed fitting.

Yup, it's insane how quick cars are these days. My giant sedan from Hyundai of all people is as quick as a stock MKIV Supra but it does it with AWD, comfort and civility. No squealing tires, no growling exhaust, etc... just blends in with the traffic.

westopher 09-09-2020 05:49 PM

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Modern cars are too fast for average driver reaction times. No matter how much better the brakes are, when you can get to 50 over in a couple seconds, and it takes you another second to figure how badly you fucked up, the damage is already done.
Like these little shits in their parents 340i that does 0-100mph in 10 seconds, that's a short window of bad judgement that can get you into exponentially more trouble than the 94 civics and 86 325es we did dumb shit in when we were young.

underscore 09-09-2020 06:03 PM

They're also much smoother, and higher riding, so you don't notice the speed as much. When your butt is only a couple inches from the pavement and you've been doing a WOT pull while banging through gears you feel like you're going a million miles an hour, but you're actually only going 10 over. Meanwhile if you sneeze in a modern family sedan you're into impound territory and you don't even notice.

westopher 09-09-2020 06:06 PM

And you can do it while updating your FB status via voice commands while you use your little dial to find a new destination on your gps.

honestly no one really cares besides

1. judgy people on the road
2. judgy people on the Internet
3. the odd police officer

and their perspectives largely don’t dictate my motoring experience

JDMDreams 09-09-2020 06:49 PM

But at least they can't vi:troll::lawl:

To be fair back in the day you could update your status via text message, and I could send a text with my flip phone without looking so I could do it while driving. Then everything went touchscreen and I lost that, good to see tech has finally caught up :lol

Back in my day, we didn’t have Facebook or internet haha

I saw a M4 with what looks like a female driver inside, has those kids suction sunshade on the door window while wearing what looks like a clai sunshade. She then tries to by pass cars on the fast lane by flooring it in the slow lane but ends up behind a semi.

We were heading east on Hwy 91, 6:45 PM... there was no sun.

How you think Asian women look 28 until they look 60?

Get rid of the flappy paddles.

This 100%

Friend of mine has a 2017 340i, he was a passenger in my E93 328i (3800lbs lol), put my foot to the floor in 2nd gear and you don't even get pushed back into the seat at all. He didn't believe me when I told him my foot was to the floor :alone:

Also, can definitely say with confidence that my 2002 Corolla felt way quicker than any of the cars I've ever owned, because I was basically sitting on the ground, and the greenhouse was huge :lawl:

According to the Sea to Sky Road condition FB group, someone posted that it wasn't the lambo's fault. The range rover was driving erratically and sideswiped the Lambo. Here's the post for those who don't have access to the group.

So for all you people that blame the Lamborghini here’s the actual story. Next time think before you judge people.

Hi guys, here's a message from Craig Stowe - Diamond Rally organizer about what happened last weekend.

"The Accident on the sea to sky involving a Lamborghini in the Diamond Rally .

Below the long version:

We got an email and then a phone call from a gentleman named Tyler White, who was driving the car behind the Lamborghini that David Ryan of Lamborghini Vancouver was driving on route to the Pemberton Airport Diamond Rally activation ,Tyler said that he captured the complete accident on his dash camera, and said that the driver of the Lamborghini was not speeding and was driving normally in the flow of traffic, when a black Ranger Rover NOT in the rally, weaving in and out of traffic, cut off Tyler White’s car first and then when on to sideswipe the Lamborghini, slamming it with such force that the Lamborghini was pushed into the medium and then over the medium, into the southbound traffic creating a head on collision with a southbound Toyota , family with two kids .The Range Rover proceeded to drive away the length of two city blocks before coming to a stop. Tyler said he followed the Range Rover as it appeared to be fleeing. Tyler then said in his statement to the RCMP that the Range Rover was driving erratically, speeding with no consideration for anyone else on the road and appeared that he was going to flee the scene of the accident. Tyler provided his USB stick out of his dash camera with footage of the lead up to and the crash itself. Tyler gave a complete statement to the RCMP staying at the scene for 1 and a half hours . It is our understanding that his statement and the dashboard camera, will lead to criminal charges against the Range Rover driver and will clear the Lamborghini driver of any wrongdoing."

I came back here to post this up as well. The story around the town was that it was the Range Rover doing stupid stuff, hopefully the hands of justice do the right thing in the end.

punkwax 09-11-2020 08:42 PM

My initial thought was that the RR was clearly to blame since it was rumoured that the driver fled the scene since the news broke. Would someone involved in the event try and take off? It’d be pretty dumb since no one is really anonymous at an event like this I’d imagine. Of course people/media want to mention a Lamborghini being involved simply to draw extra attention to the story.

I could see the idiot being frustrated by the extra traffic if a large group of capable vehicles were following the speed limits and slowing them down. Drive aggressively, weave to get ahead and make a mistake that negatively impacts several families, including your own.

I’ll be curious to see what the driver looks like. I have the image of a douche bag in my head. I could be totally wrong though and it’s some grandpa who was in a rush to see his firstborn grandchild in the hospital or something as simple as that. I’d imagine everyone reading this has broken the rules behind the wheel when life has us in panic mode for some reason. Time will tell. .

trollface 09-12-2020 04:40 PM

Man i wanna see the vid

!LittleDragon 09-12-2020 06:14 PM

It doesn't really matter who's at fault, the public already made up their mind thanks to shit reporting. Likely, they're done with the story and won't even bother to report on what actually happened.

TouringTeg 09-12-2020 06:18 PM

The media loves a story involving expensive cars regardless of who is at fault.

Dbone 09-12-2020 07:21 PM

You might be right. Since it's a Range Rover, they just get a second 'Rich Asshole causes crash' headline.

this.

everything reported related to S2S if there is a crash, they would say "vehicle"

if it was something expensive they always mentioned the brand.

only thing different so far over the years was the postal truck that got impounded :lawl:

THIS x 1000... went downtown on Thursday to my office to get stuff that was mailed there, came down Seymour, some asshole in a C63 AMG decides he's had enough of the "slow traffic" on Seymour, floors it, rips into the right lane (cuts me off) and then goes back to the fast lane cuz a F-350 change into the right lane, but the F-350 realized a Panamera was parallel parking, so he aborted his lane change and the C63 went back quickly to the right still with it floored to dodge the F-350 again/pass him............. not realizing that there's a Panamera he can't see stopped right in front of him... full lock on the brakes and swerving/almost sideswipes the F-350/runs into the back of the Panamera. Total fucking clown with WAY too much power and no idea what he's doing.

Ended up stopped next to him at the light and I was like "Wow that was a close one huh? Thank goodness you got to this light before me tho right?" to him through his open window... bitch didn't even have the balls to look over just staring straight ahead.
