I was looking at Nissan's website last week and 400z still isn't available. They also said limited availability for their cars due to chip shortage so it looks like they are affected too.
In that video, seeing a real moving one, I fail to see how it's really any different than the existing Z and not sure why it took so long to develop... just slapping on a different body and a re-tread engine.

New cars are so fuckin boring.........
Probably because Nissan took a shit ton of their peeps to work on models that make money like SUVs and EVs. the Z was never about making money, it was just to refresh it a bit with what they had in the parts bin so it would keep people interested long enough.

I think it looks pretty great, like a car the owner can enjoy without standing out like a hardon when they're driving around town in it.
First thing I'd do is paint it one colour though, including that chrome strip
- not sure about CAD prices, but USA pricing shows it is pretty competive.... starting at just below 40K for the manual base model without the big brakes and LSD...
- good to hear the electric steering is better than the drive by wire in the infiniti's red sport
Gorgeous in person. Interior is ok: no gimmicks, simple stuff. Driving position much better than 370Z (telescoping wheel!) Shifter feels great. Nice seats, great wheel, terrible-sounding stereo. '90s nav, but usable infotainment. Appropriately firm ride; quiet enough; comfy road car.
VR30 smoother than VQ37, still nothing like an I-6. Clutch/shifter cal much better than VQ, too: less lash. Turbos hit with a 12psi wallop initially, then jump to 15psi at 4k rpm. Will break the rears loose in 2nd, sometimes 3rd.
Steering doesn’t say a thing until you’re VERY sideways. Bridgestones are either grip or ice. Given instant breakaway and dead steering, the car is a HANDFUL. Leave ESC on. You will spin it. Immediately.
Perfect brake feel, no fade in 3 days of track filming. (ICONS!)
Mild understeer at limit.
Not an easy drift car: explodes sideways after lag, ESC comes back on in transitions, 7k limiter cuts power completely til revs drop to 6k, then fades back in. Lots to work around.
9AT is short-geared, launch control but does rolling controlled burnout through top of 2nd, very quick.
6MT is geared nice ’n short. No-Lift-Shift shaves lots of time on accel run (0.2s to 60), because computer kills boost until you’re FULLY off the clutch pedal. Grinds on quick shifts.
Neither Z trans will let you do a burnout $♂️
Auto sounds WAY better than manual thanks to fcked-up drive-by noise regs. Same problem Porsche solves with long gears. MT Z just gets quieter exhaust. Much cheaper to fix!
Nowhere near as fun as BRZ: weighs 800 lb more, much more isolated. But it’s quick, fun, gorgeous and cheaper than Supra. Plus, base Z has full firepower and no dumb 4-cyl.
ExZactly the update the iconic Z needed, even if it isn’t perfect.
But it has turbo, I think this is a pretty good contender, if they price it right Vs brz lol Integra wut, veloster n who? True rwd Mt sports car, without being a X drive supra
Here's the thing would you get a base 400z for 55k or get a Mustang with a 5L V8 WITH the performance pack for 45k or even the a Camaro 1SS with the 1LE package for $55k. The American counterparts aren't "muscle cars" of the past, they're great track cars especially the Camaro with the 1LE pack.
WTF I didn't know Mustangs were that cheap, they start at $32 with ecoboost that makes 310hp and 350 tq. That's like civic money, and the 5.0 is only $45?! I thought it would be over $50. No wonder I see so many buddy guys and their eco boosts, they sound like shit and they don't seem that fast when they push it.
