Woo Hoo!!!

Seniors hours are back again. 8:00 am, baby! Monday to Saturday.

Get first crack at clearance items and no line ups. I go at around 8:15 after the first batch goes in and it's smooth sailing........ shop for 15 minutes and I'm out of there with no lineups. Those older seniors take forever to shop, so up to 9:00 am, it's super fast. I'll even go to the "not so, self serve," cash registers. They do all the work for you. Grab a hot dog and drink on the way out. Win!

Hondaracer 11-03-2020 07:22 PM

Yea the self check outs are awesome way better than normal lines.

Also I just used the only delivery, got my shit tickets! Although the Charmin pack was the replacement for Kirkland..but under 1.5 hours delivered to my door, pretty sweet

Any of you guys had the chicken chow mein Costco has on sale this week? It's one of those tray things........ foil bottom with clear lids. It looked okay, but won't buy unless RS member gives it the thumbs up.

They've been on sale for the entire past week and tempting me. Also waiting for seal of approval from someone FeelsGoodMan

Hondaracer 11-03-2020 07:41 PM

I bought it once, it was ok not bad for the price.

If you spent the same at an actual Chinese place you’ll get better at most places imo

They also have this huge bucket of in house made chili this week I’ve never seen lol

punkwax 11-03-2020 07:41 PM

The chow mein is very meh. Would not buy again. That said, I have no idea what today’s sale price is and it is edible. Just not very good. Would be fine to microwave for lunch at work or something like that IMO.

MG, if you happen across some Lysol wipes in your early travels I’ll treat you to a meal far better than Costco chow mein if you don’t mind grabbing me a pack :D

We always have a bag of these. My favourite frozen fries by far.

Going On a Costco supply run this week as grocery shopping is clearly going to get more time consuming and challenging soon.

I'll just give you two cans, tubs, cylinders, whatever they're called. I have enough. no need to do anything. I'll just meet up with your friend and give it to him to give to you, 'cause Surrey is too far away. Tell your friend the gas station on Bainbridge works..........

Gumby 11-04-2020 12:27 AM

For those of you looking for Lysol wipes, this link will show you which Walmarts have the 80-count tubs in stock. Currently it shows that yes, the Grandview Walmart has over 500 in stock. Limit 1 per customer though.

StylinRed 11-04-2020 01:05 AM

The Amazon link, no limit I think

I had to pick up meds, so went to Willingdon at 8:15. Grand total of maybe 20 seniors. At 8:30, I see this young Asian woman booking it down the aisle like she stole something. I ask one of the workers why she’s in here and they tell me they make the call at 8:30 if they can let everybody else come in early. Early shoppers are a pretty quick bunch. It’s nice not to bump into people like you end up doing during the normal hours.

BTW, both Willingdon and Brighton Avenue locations had the Lysol Wipes. Just missed it. Willingdon might get them late this week, but no idea for sure. The shipment yesterday was a surprise to the warehouse workers.

THATS WHY:ilied:

MG1 11-04-2020 08:59 AM

Forgot the most important detail. The Lysol wipes were at both locations yesterday, lol. I'm not in any need of the stuff.

lilaznviper 11-04-2020 09:07 PM

dropped by costco tonight, and it was pretty empty. grab the stuff i needed and left.
the express lane was nice to have since i only have less than 20 items in my cart.

the small monitor that displays the number, for the food area was a nice, so i know when my order is ready. was so hard to hear your order when they called it out.

StylinRed 11-05-2020 04:24 PM

Ugh, made an order thru Costco.ca items arrived quick, but I had a jug of kikkoman soy sauce in there too, and the jug burst at its seam, so there's soy sauce everywhere, it even leaked thru the shipping box, bleeeeh

MG1 11-06-2020 11:32 AM

Sounds like no Lysol Wipes for a while at Costco. Supplier issues. Most going to schools and institutions. End of month, maybe.

MG1 11-06-2020 11:36 AM

Anyone try the new hazelnut cream filled donut holes at Costco? They look really good. Like most things at Costco, too much for one person. Expires two days from being baked. I guess I can freeze them. Freezing - nature’s pause button.

TouringTeg 11-06-2020 11:47 AM

Damn was anything ruined from the soya sauce spill? Ohh those donut holes sound good.

My wife stocked up on groceries this morning at Langford. One per customer toilet paper. No staff handing them out but I heard there was the other day.

No shortage of essentials and not overly busy.

StylinRed 11-06-2020 12:43 PM

Naw, everything was coated in soy, but luckily it wasn't anything that could be damaged, just had to tipe/wash it off
