Guess you're right, it's fucking annoying though. Don't people remember back in March? Nothing happened FFS.

WTF is up with these lineups again? Did something change?

For the last few weeks there hasn't been any lineups to get into the Willingdon Costco, I tried going the last 2 days and both the Production Way and Willingdon locations had long ass lineups at friggin' 2 in the afternoon on a weekday.

This have to do with the new restrictions? I just drove on past and said fuck it, not about to lineup in the cold and rain for coconut water and toilet paper :lol

Nothing changed... it's just more people are doing some panic-shopping again.

I was at Richmond Costco last morning. The line looked bad (past the parking lot entry/exit to Bridgeport Rd), but it moved relatively quickly... I was lining up from there to the warehouse in about 5min... definitely a lot better than the previous lockdown when 15min+ wait was normal.

Anyway, I'm well stocked (still). At least 2packs each for TP, PT and Kleenex. Also easily 1+ mth of supply for food/drink if it comes to that. Only thing not enough is milk... but I also have some milk powder that I can use in absolute emergency. Actually just went to Costco Richmond for my pet bed. :D... I know I know... priorities...

I think the lesson is... just stock up on everything that's non-perishable/frozen stuff you can easily rotate. This virus will be with us for easily another 6mth to a year.

If all I want to do is grab a couple hot dogs, am I a douche bypassing the line and going through the exit instead, straight to the food area? :lol

punkwax 11-11-2020 12:33 PM

^ pretty sure everyone does that.

This is standard practice if you're just going to get food.

Obsideon 11-11-2020 03:26 PM

It's only douchey if you try to walk from that side after you eat your dogs haha.
I stocked up random stuff last Sunday, no lines and actually not that busy inside. Yeah there was no TP but I'm good for that. I just grabbed a bunch of random frozen and canned foods. Trying some new items I've never had from Costco before like French Onion Soup, etc.

underscore 11-11-2020 05:40 PM

The last 2 grocery orders I made the TP was OOS. I'm going to be eyeing my least favourite socks pretty quick here.

Have you guys been able to get Lysol wipes with your Costco delivery orders? I can never find them listed.

StylinRed 11-11-2020 06:01 PM

I haven't seen tp available in store for awhile now, but I ordered it from their website and it arrived in two days

For wipes I just purchased from Amazon when they were available, but those sold out fast

Obsideon 11-11-2020 06:04 PM

I was at Robson London Drugs 20 min ago. Tons of stock of every brand. It's not as crazy as the first rush in March.

I’ve found them listed as available/in stock but every time I’ve tried to order them they won’t deliver to my postal code. This has been going on since March so I’m fairly confident it’s not going to happen until things are back to normal. That said, anytime I’m shopping Costco delivery I try again.

While on the subject of ordering online, I tried Costco’s yellow fin tuna for poke and was very happy with it. According to reviews it may be hit or miss so YMMV but my batch was quite good so no complaints. Luckily I got 10lbs for $150 and it’s up to $190 now but I’ll order again as it’s a hit for the whole family https://www.costco.ca/oceanprime-yel...100521237.html

^this was my first attempt. I’ve made the tuna marinade a lot lighter with less soy to preserve the nice pink of the natural tuna since this pic was taken. I don’t have any pics of more recent attempts. Plating poke for 5 is time consuming and I just wanna eat when it’s done lol

Edit: also did a poor man’s replication of Nobu’s Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeņo which was another way to play with the ingredient. It didn’t turn out nearly as great as the real deal but was still good though lol.. has anyone here tried Nobu’s version? So damn good. Had it in Vegas and NY.. man I want to travel again!

Actually, you can just go through the entrance. tell the employee that you're just getting food. They'll let you through. less douchey

Oh yeah save on etc are packed with tp etc but for Kirkland tp nope

Here at Willingdon Costco again. They added an extra row of TP pallets leaving enough space in the aisle for two carts, lol. And............ they had Lysol Wipes!!!!

By the time I got there, there were only 5 left.

lol you seem to go quite often! I think I hit up Costco about 4-6 times a year. Load up and try to avoid the shitshow if possible.

jing 11-12-2020 03:20 PM

We were going to drop by and grab a couple things at Willingdon Costco this morning around 11AM but the lineup wrapped around the building.

how much are lysols going for now? They are insanely expensive on Amazon the times that I saw them.

mikemhg 11-12-2020 04:05 PM

Well I went through the exit for my hot dogs yesterday, all good :lol

Damn that's such a loophole though, it would be so easy to just start shopping.

I'm going again tomorrow, lol. I'm trying to clean up the garage. I bought those wire racks today. They work really well, so getting another one tomorrow. Willingdon only received two layers of Lysol Wipes this morning. I found out Brighton also received a limited amount. I'm thinking each location gets a pallet. They put aside what they need for the warehouse and sell the rest. Just a guess. Every dairy case has a Lysol Wipes canister for customer use. Must go through a fair amount over the course of the day.

I don't order a hot dog early in the morning, but I made an exception today. And yes, they DO NOT HAVE ANY ONIONS............

I got my fill of onions at KMS Tool's 3 Day Sale. Gawd, those smokies are so damn good. Caramelized onions, ftmfw!

You can do that most times I find, walked into USA Costco many times before just tagging in with other families (white privilege!) but when you go to pay they want your card.

I used to grab flats of Mexico Coke and then I’d just ask someone in line to buy it for me and give them the price plus some cash lol

punkwax 11-12-2020 05:26 PM

Mexico coke? :suspicious:

StylinRed 11-12-2020 07:43 PM

Mexican coke is the best :lol
