More hot yo! I have a 2 burned and to get good searing temperatures I need to crank it for quite a while. Diverse cooking zones is always handy too.

Quantity of burners doesn't necessarily correspond to heat output because burners can be different sizes/outputs themselves.

However more burners gives you the ability to better control of your heat zones, especially for indirect cooking.

Is it safe to spray the shit out of burners with water?

My BBQ is fairly new, a Webber, I clean the actual basket to remove the charred bits, but I've never fully cleaned the burners or anything.

Is there an easy way to do so without taking the stupid thing apart?

Do yours have that triangle shroud over them?

When I removed mine the burners themselves were still super clean

It wouldn't be normal to really have any gunk inside the burner,
You shouldn't really need to spray into them with water. I mean I guess you could, but the concern would be getting them dry inside after.

What normally happens if you use your BBQ a lot is the burner's flame holes will get carbon buildup, which effectively reduces their size and performance. My Napoleon gave me a little kit with a drill bit and tiny pipe brush which I use once a year to open them all up again.

Ya they're covered, but just notice some carbon build up.

So no water, just poke the shit out of the holes, essentially?

Yep! I blow in some compressed air after as well, make sure it's all out.

BBQ consists of metal tubes with holes in them, covered by some sheet metal heat shields in a metal box. With a couple 1.5v batteries connected somewhere down the line to a little igniter. You could hit that thing with a fire hose and it’s not going to do shit but make a greasy mess of your deck lol. May need to dru out your igniter but that’s about it. I hit my BBQ with a hose/degreaser every couple seasons. If it went completely under water maybe you would have a regulator issue. Not sure, never taken one apart. Honestly just a solid scrub with the BBQ brush is plenty most of the time. The only issue with some of the cheaper stainless BBQs is they will rust out. I’m sure water sitting in there won’t help that situation.

Here is my BBQ. It’s over 20 years old, I use it 3-5 days a week year round. Just took this two minutes ago.

3 burner makes it easier to do stuff like smoking meats or for indirect cooking. With 3 burners you can run 1 burner and still have more than half the grill for indirect cooking or smoking.

A couple Xmas' ago I slow cooked a prime rib on the bbq with 1 burner going - it was bloody amazing. Next time I'm gonna put a bit of wood in there to give some smokiness.

Also makes it easier to manage the heat in your box - if I've got something that drips a lot but I need the heat I turn down the burner underneath the drippy stuff and keep the other 2 burners cranked.

I have the same one, except 3 burner. Free off CL. Cleaned the fuck out of it, new paint, grills, burners and flavour bars and she works like a hot damn. Only reason to replace it would be if the base desintegrates. I'm also not a fan of SS BBQ's, just cause they look like shit if they're not perfectly clean, so this works out great.

I’ve been keeping my eye open for a 3 burner w/ side burner (there is 2 available
Now online but both natural gas, and I don’t want to replace everything right away.... but maybe I should? Lol) I’d really like the old one with teak woodwork. I’d do a full resto on it too. But for now I put burners in it maybe 8 years ago, hopefully they last till I find the new one.

It also looks like it's placed under a balcony so it's well covered from the rain. Make sure you get a BBQ cover if you don't have one because it makes a big difference, especially with how much rain Vancouver gets if the grill isn't placed in a dry spot.

Keeping things on topic, Costco carries a great cover for $20. I went through a couple of them in my years on an uncovered patio. Covered now, so much nicer.

Does Costco do stock checks if I call them? I'm hoping to save the shipping on one of these: https://www.costco.ca/champion-5%2c4...100372539.html

Yeah, bought a case the day they came out. I'm almost done with it, as of today. Time to get more. The bottles at Bellingham Costco were larger size. I think I'll actually try making a Moscow Mule with it. Most people mix the stuff with alcohol. I drink it straight up, hee hee.

The thing is, the cap is not a twist off, so I had to get one of these for the backyard patio.......
