I’d say the top model flagship like the A95L or Badhobz Tv etc. for 6k is pretty good considering you used to have to spend 10+ to get those top models

You can buy 100” TV’s now for under $2500 which is crazy, it’s not a great TV but it’s big lol

Badhobz 11-13-2023 01:47 PM

I kinda regret getting a 8k tv. There’s no friggin signal worth a shit that’s 8k unless I game at 8k (almost no title I play goes that high) or watch porno at 8k. Otherwise it’s a completely arbitrary resolution.

I just run at 4k 99% of the time as most games support that resolution and is still mac compatible. Sleeping dogs at 4k resolution is hilarious.

How are projectors these days? Are they comparable?

New ultra short throw projectors are pretty slick, you can just put it 2 feet off of the wall on a TV stand and it turns the wall on to a large screen. No need to put it in the middle of back of your living room. However you still need to have a room with pretty solid light control to keep it dark enough to use during day time.

There are also laser projectors which are bright enough to use during the day, and go 100"+ however these need to have professionally installed screen. Costco sells them with installed included:

https://www.costco.ca/hisense-100%22...000199483.html

I currently have a 65" Sony OLED but if it were to break down ive always planted the seed in my wife's head of possibly going projector as my wall and room setup is almost perfectly suited for a screen, especially since I removed the white power flags:

Not the flags bro!

The thing with projectors I find is that even though they just snap on now and it’s not all the BS they used to be 10-15 ago, over time you seem to just use them less and less due to the requirements of the dark room etc.

My parents had a 120” projector setup over 3 different projectors spanning 12 years or so, eventually they replaced it with an 85” Samsung, the new TV is nothing special but they use the room a lot more now

That's why the laser ones are appealing, coz they can be used in a bright room. But laser is almost 2x the price of a regular ultra-short throw 4k pj.

Alternatively for my room I was thinking of putting a roll down screen that goes in front of the tv which I have on a full-motion mount. For movies I would just push the tv back against the wall then roll the screen down over the TV.

SSM_DC5 11-13-2023 04:28 PM

Was watching some YouTube videos and they said projecting on your painted wall isn't good. It's best to use an ALR screen. Some went further to say a black screen is better than a white screen for blacker blacks.

Old guy seems like he's half deaf he doesn't notice anything unless it's a huge explosion and the sub goes crazy lol.

On sale this week.

Love the cups. I have so many, lol. Anyway, this shit is so much better when you add Bailey's.

Bumped this thread about Badhobz, 'cause it was becoming lost.

Sigh…. These Costco Michelin wipers got redesigned again. Now they stick out like an inch and look stupid as fuck.

At least they were on sale for 10 bucks a blade

Hondaracer 12-14-2023 03:39 PM

Yea the last set I just bought, the same style as yours felt cheaper than the last set I got. Probably time to move to a more premium one

68style 12-14-2023 04:00 PM

I used to go through Costco wipers for their cheap cost and relative effectiveness... but then 1 day in the USA I needed new wipers because the Costco ones had gotten ineffective after a year and I picked up some top of the line Bosch ones and it was like the heavens parted. Definitely an improvement.

Hondaracer 12-14-2023 04:29 PM

The last 2 sets always seem to have an annoying streak in one of them, eventually goes away or wears in but still

MG1 12-14-2023 08:35 PM

I always clean the wiper blades after a drive through car wash. You clean your car, but not the blades............. anyway, I use those hand wipes you get for free at take out joints. I grab a few to use on the wiper blades. The first time I did this years ago, I couldn't believe how much shit ends up on the rubber/silicone/whathaveyou. Anyway, I give out a few to people who happen to be parked next to me cleaning their cars. Hotties get two, gulolol.

I love watching people's reaction when they try it for the first time.

Badhobz 12-15-2023 05:30 AM

i tried those inserts for toyota wiper and 1) they are more expensive than costco michelins wipers and 2) ive read stories online where that retaining metal clip goes flying off and then GG, go buy a new set of wipers. (maybe thats the old design? i think the new ones are easier to use)

In all honesty i buy these ghetto michelin wipers because they are on sale frequently and they work fine for the 1year+ that i use. But it looks like they are getting cheaper and cheaper with these wipers. Might as well go back to OEM now.

I doubt that there's a lot of golfers out there but it's crazy what Kirkland loving golfers are paying for the irons that Costco are selling now. they're being scooped up and resold for way more $$. they're not for me but if you see a set grab 'em.

Stopped relying on my metaphorically braindead brother and finally got my own membership card.

Went to the Brighton location. Usual busy Friday and I'm hastily directed to the 'woman with the computer'. She treats me like a simpleton (which is fine, considering how I was dressed) until she saw the Executive card pop out of the printer.

Her face and demeanor changed. For the first time in my life, I was treated like I was on the RIGHT side of the tracks! :lol

She offered me a CIBC Mastercard (apparently a $60 credit when you apply for both on the same day). I said I'm ok. Still breaking my BMO Ascend card in :lol

Badhobz 12-15-2023 07:57 PM

Executive !!?!?!?!? !!!!

Take me now big boy !!!!

MG1 12-15-2023 08:38 PM

Doesn't everybody have an executive card?

It's like the World Elite Mastercard. I get harassed all the time in Canadian Tire and Superstore by people wanting to sign me up for their rewards card. I just show them my World Elite and they're like, "Whoa.......... you have the World Elite?" I remember my first World Elite Mastercard from PC. I don't think I qualified, but they gave it to me anyway. Then, when I was convinced to get a Triangle Rewards Mastercard, they were just going to give me a normal one. I flashed my PC World Elite and they just gave me the Triangle World Elite. No annual fee on both.............. anyway, the Costco Executive Mastercard pays for itself. Plus, gave companion card to my son who doesn't even live with me. Companion card is only for family members who live at the same address.

Yes everyone CAN get elite for free because they will refund the balance of the membership if you don’t earn enough cash pack to pay for the membership.

Flexin on dem hoes

I still can't believe people rep the Kirkland clothing line. The fact they can get people to buy their branded clothing line is like next level loyalty.

People say they're nice quality for 15-25 bucks. What's not to like? Can barely buy lunch for that much these days.

hud 91gt 12-16-2023 08:48 PM

I’d rep a massive Kirkland branding before I’d ever wear some tacky ass name brand lol.
