the only thing i hate about off brand products like that is that i have to create a new account and sync them. i guess the good thing about your product is that they come with a remote and i don't need to sign up a new account i'll never remember the login for.

Badhobz 10-21-2024 09:12 PM

Yah but you sign up. Sync the dumb thing and then delete the app after you integrated it into Google home. 15 bucks for 2!!! The savings outweigh your inconvenience

GLOW 10-22-2024 08:30 AM

they only work well maybe a year or 2 then have comms issues, but maybe i'll try again with this one since it has a remote and pretty darn cheap, thanks

Hondaracer 10-22-2024 08:41 AM

That type of thing for a remote AND an alp used to be $150+

That price is crazy, I’ll probably buy a couple just because lol

Badhobz 10-22-2024 01:06 PM

I’m suppose to be at work but I said fuck it and didn’t go in.

This model is excellent !!! Very very cool and big too!! 32CM large.

Steering actually works, you can remove the engine cover to see the turbo charged v6. It’s epic

EvoFire 10-22-2024 01:07 PM

I think the complaints of the model had been the rear tires aren't wider. Some ppl are 3D printing wider rears to make it look better. Right now it looks like a F3 car.

Badhobz 10-22-2024 01:26 PM

Aye that’s a nitpick but it’s also made out of legos so people should shut the fuck up. It looks great on your desk !

Before NSX prices went into the stratosphere and my dream of owning one died, I used to be on the NSX Prime group on FB and it was extremely annoying how much Senna masturbation NSX owners do.

Like what a bunch of simps, the guy literally tells Honda's engineers their car is a wet noodle piece of shit to drive and they set about fixing it based on his condemnations and owners are like "SENNA IS GOD" for the rest of time.

Just get the item number and ask/call Customer Service to find out which locations have them.

That takes all the fun out of going to Costco and fighting an auntie for handicapped spaces.... while handicapped people make handicapped faces.

I dunno, that doesn't seem like a $90 lego model to me.

Seems like $30 worth of Lego and $60 worth of Mclaren branding.

Hondaracer 10-24-2024 09:32 AM

That was always my hesitation with the set I’ve almost bought it multiple times.

Hobz build makes it look better than the box but it still looks kinda cheapo

Badhobz 10-24-2024 09:58 AM

I don’t think it’s cheapo at all. It’s quite nicely engineered for a Lego set. Much better than their x wing or tie fighter sets I bought.

At least you can see the Lego lol.
My kid just built this one. There were a lot of stickers.

I dunno, I had this one as a kid (apprently 1986). It just seems so much more substantial.

Actually I still have it today, but it got absorbed into the giant pile of the rest of my son's Legos.

Gumby 10-24-2024 10:09 AM

LEGO is fucking expensive... they know adults have disposable income so they come out with increasingly larger and more expensive sets.

It's hard to see the scale from Badhobz' pictures, but the finished model is slightly longer than your standard ruler. $85 is a decent price for this set.

Nah it’s great. Trust me!!

If you dont like it, go return it to Costco. They dont give a shit.

red kryptonite 10-24-2024 10:51 AM

Lego has always been expensive but they sure didn’t pump out sets like they do now. It’s hard to keep up. All the speed champions are crap imo. The ideas/icons are really nice for the price. technic super cars are engineering masterpieces, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them go on sale.

unit 10-24-2024 10:57 AM

i love the idea of building lego but i don't want to store my models all over the place once finished. prob the main reason why i will never get into lego or any model building really. as a kid i loved tamiya models but now i just think about wtf am i gonna do with all these cars/gundams lol

GLOW 10-24-2024 11:03 AM

while they still sell buckets of plain lego, most are intricate well designed or licensed sets.

one of the things growing up as a kid was using lego and my imagination and building stuff, takign it apart and building something else.

these days while yes my kids have lots of expensive minecraft sets, much are mixed together where it's impossible to find all the specific parts to rebuild them. but they get to use creativity to build whatever, even though it sucks that the set itself is lost... but i think that's the only way to let kids use their imagination.

where as some of my own sets, i put them on display b/c i don't want them to be lost in the abyss of the giant lego box.

Great68 10-24-2024 11:05 AM

This is what I think is the main problem with modern lego, the sets are basically all build once and then basically just display. The pieces of these sets are so specialized you can't really use them for anything else.

That race car I had as a kid could be rebuilt into a couple other things like a plane and something else. I remember most of my sets as a kid could build into multiple things.

You can always sell them after. I see people listing complete but once-built sets for not much less than retail.

And borderline impossible to replace. With the regular pieces you can look in the instructions (or download the instructions if you lost them) and look up the part number for that piece and buy it for pretty cheap from a bunch of places. But the specialized pieces that are only used in a set or two you're hooped.

Is Audi making a comeback to WEC? :suspicious:
