5k was a cruise to Alaska and the rest are all just trash i buy.... no wonder they dont ban me. thats quite a bit of $$$

CivicBlues 01-13-2025 07:59 AM

lol $28k is my entire discretionary budget for the year +/- 2k. Has been for the past 7 years when I started tracking. Spending that all at one establishment is insane to me.

punkwax 01-13-2025 08:03 AM

Got my lowest rebate cheque ever last year. $83. Used it yesterday. My son had a bday party to attend at a place out in Newton. If you ever want to test your Costco patience, try the Newton location.

underscore 01-13-2025 08:52 AM

Last year I dropped $11.7k at Costco and $590 at their gas station.

mikemhg 01-13-2025 08:55 AM

Jesus Christ you guys drop some serious dime at Costco.

What kind of a harem of a household do ya'll be living in?

EvoFire 01-13-2025 09:37 AM

I never looked. My rebate check was $47x last year, but that also accounts for the cash rebate from the credit card. It's 2% rebate from Costco buys and whatever the fuck we pay with the CIBC Costco card.

CivicBlues 01-13-2025 09:39 AM

Perhaps we need to see if there's a correlation between total yearly spend at Costco vs. time spent on the Weight loss accountability thread? :troll:

Eff-1 01-13-2025 10:27 AM

I'm so cheap I don't even pay for the higher level membership. So I have no idea but my guess is $2k max per year. I tend to avoid the place like the plague.

Hondaracer 01-13-2025 10:33 AM

My last trip was $550 without even thinking about it/getting very little in terms of groceries. I always look for deals on things I use all the time as I think it was Mark Cuban who said the easiest way to build wealth is to buy things you use all the time in bulk.

The protein I use from there was $12 off for $32, got 3 of those so that’s $100 right there

On sale vitamin D and C, probably $50 between those two

On sale ziplock freezer bags, $12

So almost $200 in non-food items in 1 trip. Every two weeks we do the majority of our food shopping there between 300-500

I’m still of the mind of buying 6 peppers for $12 and potentially not using all 6 is a better financial move than paying $2.50 a pop at a Safeway etc.

unit 01-13-2025 10:42 AM

store next to me is never more than 3.99/lb for any colour peppers, and usually more like 2.99 or less. thank god for independent produce stores, and even luckier to live a 1 minute walk from it. sometimes i jay walk both ways if it's not busy and can be door to door in 3-4 minutes. safeway be charging like 5.99/lb for red peppers... dafuq.

Badhobz 01-13-2025 10:47 AM

Im the same with Honda, i cant step out of there without spending a few hundred. I dont even know wtf i buy, but apparently its a lot. Considering we barely cook at home.... i really dont know what could be causing this $$$

Depends what you're buying there. Mine works out to $225/wk and that's mostly groceries for a family of 4 + some extra stuff like oil and clothes.

Holy, $2000 spend on first day of membership. Did you get robbed or something? :lol

$2000 isn’t an every visit occurrence.
Had to replace my Dyson and Apple Watch (90day return policy, AppleCare doesn’t cover water damage). Picked up some veggies, 3 cases of diet root beer, a whole uncut rib eye, boom $2k gone.

do you know what kind of a G you need to be to roll up in Costco (i assume on the island) with a X5M, proceed to buy 2k worth of shit and then RETURN IT, just to buy it all again to get the 2% executive membership savings (40 bucks yo)

THATS THE MOST CHINESE THING TO EVER CHINESE. AND IM CHINESE.

Get this! I didn’t even take the x5 cuz it cuts into my savings lol
It’s a 50min round trip

Did they get rid of that thing where if you don’t get enough money back to cover a premier membership they will refund you the difference?

That wagyu don't eat itself.

Badhobz 01-13-2025 12:34 PM

i dont know how you guys spend so little over there. Besides Costco, its only amazon and T&T that i spend money. Something like 80% costco, 10% amazon and 10% T&T

68style 01-13-2025 01:17 PM

I got my first membership to Costco only like a few months ago... and I probably spent like $5,000+ already... but that's because I'm furnishing a brand new (to me) house... so like freezer, treadmill, brand new TV

Other than that I just buy some produce and meat and the Detroit Pizza and beefy meat pies... gluten free bagels for my gf

Btw whoever posted the lightly breaded chicken chunks? Those things are awesome! Bought a bag and ate some last night... they taste like straight up fried chicken but they are bite size so you end up eating like 15 of them lol

EvoFire 01-13-2025 01:33 PM

It's very easy to hit $400. Everything is $50 give or take. 10 items in and you are over $400 easily after tax.

jing 01-13-2025 01:38 PM

$3900 here including USA gas runs

Biggest spend was $366 CAD but more than half that was on a bottle of Yamazaki 12

spoon.ek9 01-13-2025 02:21 PM

I've never had my own membership haha. But then again, I've probably never exceeded $1000/year my entire life as a seldom customer of theirs.

Dog you don't even cook, how in the fuck?

Your out of pocket costs for those Cialis scripts at the Costco pharmacy don't count btw.

Badhobz 01-13-2025 03:11 PM

Psssh stupid brack man, china fucks dont take boner pills, whats there to enhance anyways? :fullofwin:

I MEAN I GOT A HUGE PENIS.

---

its all junk mostly. Like uhhh bottled water? health supplements for geezers.. toilet paper, tissues, detergent....
Oh I do buy motor oil and quite a bit of it considering I gotta service RX, RX400H, ES, LC, and SC.

Hehe 01-13-2025 05:13 PM

Costco runs are so expensive now. It used to be a full cart is like 2xx. Now, if I load up full cart with meat and whatever crap I buy there, it's easily 500+. And that's under the fact that Costco BC doesn't have alcohol.

My usual cashback was anywhere between 400-600, but that's sharing with my parents. Except the year that my parents got their cabin and had to buy... well, everything. We almost maxed out the cashback that year at $11xx. And I got to keep all that cashback check to myself. :fuckthatshit:
